Spiritual metabolism, part 5: Doctrine is the power and energy that the Christian uses to produce divine good.

PHI 4:9 These things [doctrinal principles noted] also you have learned [manthano – learned from a teacher under strict academic discipline] and received [or accepted]

“Accept” – paralambano = to take or receive to one’s side or to one’s self; implies agreement, approval and therefore acceptance.

It reveals the difference between gnosis (knowledge) and epignosis (metabolization of gnosis or wisdom).

Point 1. Definition.

ROM 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

“Be transformed” – pres-pass-imp – metamorphoo = to transform, to change into another form, to transform one’s character; an inner spiritual change.

2CO 3:18 But we all, with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.

Point 2. The First Step Toward Spiritual Metabolism Begins with the Believer’s Free-will.

a. The believer must make a decision not to forsake assembling together –
HEB 10:25 not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more, as you see the day drawing near.

EPH 3:18 that you may be able to comprehend in the presence of all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth.

b. The filling of the Spirit.

c. Once the human spirit is taught the believer automatically understands it as “knowledge” or gnosis.

Cosmic one is Satan’s exploitation of believers through their own arrogance.

Cosmic two is Satan’s propaganda and indoctrination college to educate and promote antagonism toward anything related to God, especially the grace of God.

d. It is only when gnosis is transformed into epignosis that the believer can receive the momentum to keep going.

Power comes from epignosis, HEB 4:12, and the Holy Spirit, Acts 1:8.

When a positive faith decision is made toward doctrine, the Holy Spirit transfers gnosis and changes it to epignosis.

Metabolism occurs between gnosis and epignosis.

JER 3:15 “Then I will give you shepherds after My own heart, who will feed you on knowledge and understanding.”

When gnosis doctrine is at the entrance of your soul, the mind, it is up to you whether you will let it in or not.

Metabolism is the chemical change in which once the food is eaten it is metabolized and changed into energy for the body.

Spiritual metabolism converts spiritual food into spiritual energy.

Production is a result of spirituality not how to be spiritual, and doctrine is the power and energy that the Christian uses to produce divine good.

Evil and legalism is the human power the believer uses to produce human good.

Point 3. God’s grace provisions for the metabolization of Bible doctrine.

a. Life; JOB 33:4.
b. A local assembly; HEB 10:25.
c. A pastor; EPH 4:11-12.
d. Volition; GAL 6:7.
e. Time; EPH 5:16.
f. A Plan; EPH 2:10.
g. Human Spirit; TIT 3:5.
h. The Holy Spirit as your Mentor; JOH 14:26.

Point 4. The Mentorship of the Holy Spirit Related to Spiritual Metabolism.

Parakleton – paravklhton = primarily a helper, a counselor, someone who can instill wisdom into your soul – a perfect illustration of the ministry of God the Holy Spirit during the metabolization of Bible doctrine.

“Because He lives with you” – par + humin = par= u&min = the ministry of the Holy Spirit to the disciples during the dispensation of the hypostatic union.

“And He will be in you” – en + locative plural – humin – e*n u&min = the ministry of the Holy Spirit to Church-age believers.

The filling of the Holy Spirit is the first power option and the first spiritual skill in the spiritual life.

The filling of the Spirit converts human I.Q. into spiritual I.Q., so that we have equality to learn spiritual phenomena.
Human I.Q. is the unequal genetic product beyond human control through physical birth.

The spiritual I.Q., provided by our Mentor, is the equal opportunity under divine control of the spiritual birth and the mentorship of God the Holy Spirit.

God’s equality is based on at least the forty things received at salvation, the two power options, the three spiritual skills, and your portfolio of invisible assets.

The second power option and the second spiritual skill is the word of God circulating in your stream of consciousness through the teaching ministry of the Holy Spirit as a part of perception, metabolization and application of Bible doctrine.

The third spiritual skill is the problem solving devices deployed on the FLOT line of the soul.

SPIRITUAL METABOLISM, PART 6: THE MENTORSHIP OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. JOH 14:16; JOH 4:24; 2CO 13:14; ACT 5:2-4; MAT 28: 19; ROM 8:8-11; 1CO 3:16, 6:19; 1CO 2:9-16

Spiritual metabolism. Part 6. THe mentorship of the Holy Spirit.

The Doctrine of Spiritual Metabolism. Point 1. Definition.

Point 2. The First Step Toward Spiritual Metabolism Begins with the Believer’s Free-will.

a. The believer must make a decision not to forsake assembling together, HEB 10:25.
b. The filling of the Spirit.

c. Once the human spirit is taught the believer automatically understands it as “knowledge” or gnosis.
d. It is only when gnosis is transformed into epignosis that the believer can receive the momentum to keep going.

Point 3. God’s grace provisions for the metabolization of Bible doctrine.

a. Life; JOB 33:4.
b. A local assembly; HEB 10:25.
c. A pastor; EPH 4:11-12.
d. Volition; GAL 6:7.
e. Time; EPH 5:16.
f. A Plan; EPH 2:10.
g. Human Spirit; Titus 3:5.

“Because He lives with you” – par + humin = par= un = the ministry of the Holy Spirit to the disciples during the dispensation of the hypostatic union.

“And He will be in you” – en + locative plural -humin – e*n un = the ministry of the Holy Spirit to Church-age believers.

The filling of the Holy Spirit is the first power option and the first spiritual skill in the spiritual life.

The filling of the Spirit converts human I.Q. into spiritual I.Q., so that we have equality to learn spiritual phenomena.

The second power option and the second spiritual skill is the word of God circulating in your stream of consciousness through the teaching ministry of the Holy Spirit as a part of perception, metabolization and application of Bible doctrine.

1. The Frame of Reference.
2. The Memory Center.
3. Vocabulary Storage.
4. The Categorical Storage.
5. The Conscience.
6. Momentum Department.
7. Wisdom Department.

The third spiritual skill is the problem solving devices deployed on the FLOT line of the soul. FLOT is a military acronym for the forward line of troops.

The filling of the Spirit, metabolized doctrine circulating in the stream of consciousness, and the problem solving devices on the FLOT line of the soul are the three spiritual skills developed from metabolized doctrine.

Point 5. The Indwelling and Filling of the Spirit Related to Mentorship.

JOH 4:24 “God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

2CO 13:14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all.

MAT 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,

a. Spirit of God, GEN 1:2,
MAT 3:16.
b. Spirit of the Lord, LUK 4:18.
c. Spirit of Jehovah, JDG 3:10.
d. Spirit of the Lord God, ISA 61:1.
e. Spirit of the living God, 2CO 3:3.

f. My Spirit, GEN 6:3.
g. The Spirit of our God, 1CO 6:11.
h. The Lord, the Spirit, 2CO 3:18.
i. The eternal Spirit, HEB 9:14.
j. The Spirit of glory, 1PE 4:14.
k. The Spirit of life in Christ Jesus, ROM 8:2.

1. The Holy Spirit indwells the body of the believer in order to guarantee the most fantastic blessings from the function of our Lord Jesus Christ.

2. The Holy Spirit indwells the body of the believer to create a temple for the indwelling of Christ as a guarantee of blessing.

The indwelling of the Holy Spirit in the believer’s body is found in ROM 8:10; 1CO 3:16; 1CO 6:19-20; 2CO 6:16.

2TI 1:13 Retain the standard of sound doctrines which you have heard from me, in the faith and love which are in Christ Jesus. Guard, through the Holy Spirit (HG) who dwells in us, the treasure [doctrine] which has been entrusted to you.

3. To provide a permanent base for the Holy Spirit’s availability as your mentor and the agent for metabolizing doctrine.

The indwelling of the Spirit is permanent and not effected by experiential status.

The indwelling of the Spirit is never mandated because it is a fact, unchangeable and permanent whether the believer is carnal or spiritual, winner or loser.

The Holy Spirit’s function related to the human soul is the doctrine of the mentorship of the Holy Spirit who is given for the purpose of metabolizing Bible doctrine.

The filling of the Spirit is mandated, EPH 5:18, “keep walking by means of the Spirit” = the function of the spiritual life which comes from metabolizing Bible doctrine.

God the Father gave the Church God the Holy Spirit as their mentor.
This never happened before in human history; it is unique to the Church-age.

JOH 16:12 I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear {them} now.

The filling of the Holy Spirit plus human I.Q. equals spiritual I.Q. plus the teaching ministry of the Spirit with human volition means metabolizing Bible doctrine resulting the execution of the PPOG.

JOH 14:26 “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and He will cause you to remember all that I have said to you.”

If God the Holy Spirit is not your mentor in relationship to the teaching ministry of the word of God and the metabolization of Bible doctrine, then you are a loser believer.

The First Advent of the Holy Spirit occurs at the beginning of the Church-age after the First Advent of Christ had occurred.
The Second Advent of the Holy Spirit occurs at the beginning of the Millennium after the Second Advent of Jesus Christ.

Guide – fut-act-ind – hodegesei – o = the Holy Spirit would guide them with the interpretation of the formation of the New Testament canon and the ministry of God the Holy Spirit as your mentor-teacher of Church-age doctrine.

The unfinished message of our Lord Jesus Christ found in the epistles of the New Testament.

It took resurrection, ascension, and session, and then God the Holy Spirit was sent as a personal mentor to all believers, but used only by those who are positive toward doctrine.

a. You cannot glorify God unless the Holy Spirit is your mentor.
b. You cannot fulfill the spiritual mechanics of God’s plan unless the Holy Spirit is your mentor and the agent for metabolizing Bible doctrine.

SPIRITUAL METABOLISM, PART 7: DIVINE INSPIRATION, DIVINE POWER FOR THE SPIRITUAL LIFE, AND BIBLICAL WARNINGS. 1TI 3:16-17; JOH 16:12; 2PE 1:20-21; EPH 5:18; GAL 5:1,13-18,22-25; 1TH 5:19; EPH 4:30; ACT 4:32-5:11

Spiritual metabolism. Part 7. Divine inspiration, divine power for the spiritual life and Biblical warnings.

The Doctrine of Spiritual Metabolism. Point 1. Definition.

Point 2. The First Step Toward Spiritual Metabolism Begins with the Believer’s Free-will.
Point 3. God’s grace provisions for the metabolization of Bible doctrine.
Point 4. The Mentorship of the Holy Spirit Related to Spiritual Metabolism.
Point 5. The Indwelling and Filling of the Spirit Related to Mentorship.

Point 6. Spiritual Metabolism is also Related to the Mechanics of Divine Inspiration.

Inspired – theopneustos = God-breathed.

God the Holy Spirit provided certain information to the human authors of Scripture, and this information was exhaled into the canon of Scripture.

When it comes to the Church-age, the human authors inhaled the Holy Spirit’s message and exhaled that message into the New Testament.

Theopneustos = the inhale and the exhale.

1. Theopneustos = God the Holy Spirit so supernaturally directed the human authors of the New Testament to put in writing our Lord’s complete and accurate message to the Church.

2. Theopneustos = this message was recorded with perfect accuracy in the original languages of the New Testament.

3. Theopneustos = our Mentor, God the Holy Spirit did so in a supernatural way without waiving their intelligence, their individuality, their personal feelings, their literary style, or any other human factor of expression.

JOH 16:12 “I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear {them} now.”

Exhale = the human writers of the New Testament wrote down in the Greek the completed message of TLJC and the plan of God the Father for all believers – the doctrine of verbal plenary inspiration.

The inhale is the ministry of God the Holy Spirit, who communicates to the human author God’s complete and coherent message to that generation and all future generations of history.

The exhale is what the human writer wrote down in his own language and within the framework of his own personality, the divine message to man.

Verbal inspiration applies only to the original languages of Scripture – Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek – the human writers wrote down in their own language the divine message to mankind under the power of the Holy Spirit.

The word of God is called, HEB 3:7, “The voice of the Spirit.”

Point 7. Spiritual Metabolism from the Holy Spirit is the Divine Power for the Spiritual Life.

Since the divine plan for the Church-age is perfect from a perfect God it can only be fulfilled through the perfect power of God.

As our mentor and teacher of doctrine, God the Holy Spirit provides the power for the execution of the spiritual life.

As a part of your portfolio of invisible assets you were given your very own spiritual life.

If your mentor is not God the Holy Spirit, you are a loser.

Dissipation refers to a disorderly lifestyle – an excessive lifestyle of dependence on the wrong things to solve the problems of life

“Be filled” – pres-pass-imp – PLEROO = “to be filled.”

A. To fill up a deficiency. The filling of the Holy Spirit fills up our deficiency of power to execute the spiritual life.
B. To fully possess – the believer must be fully possessed by the Holy Spirit and Bible doctrine before he can be fully possessed by the blessings of maturity.

C. To fully influence.
The believer is fully influenced by the teaching ministry of the Holy Spirit with Bible doctrine so that he can have capacity for blessing.
D. To fill with a certain quality. The filling of the Holy Spirit along with doctrine is the highest quality with which the believer can be filled.

At the time this verb was written the present tense was a tendential present = an action that is mandated but has not actually taken place.

For the rest of the Church-age believers, it becomes a durative present tense – used for an action or state of being in the past continuing into the present, a present linear aktionsart.

Passive voice = the Church-age believer is acted upon by God the Holy Spirit inside the Pre-designed Plan of God.

Through the metabolization of Bible doctrine, the Holy Spirit fills up the deficiency in your life.
Through the metabolization of Bible doctrine, the Holy Spirit fully possesses you.
Through the metabolization of Bible doctrine, the Holy Spirit will fully influence you if you allow Him to.
Through the metabolization of Bible doctrine, the Holy Spirit will fill you with a certain quality of life.

En + instrumental of agency of pneuma –
“with the Spirit” = “keep on being controlled by means of the Spirit.”

SPIRITUAL METABOLISM, PART 8: SPIRITUAL METABOLISM RELATED TO THE CELEBRATION OF THE LORD'S SUPPER. JOH 6:28-29,35,40,47-51; EXO 3:1-14; JAM 1:15,22; MAT 4:4; JOH 1:14, 21:15-17; REV 5:1-12

Spiritual metabolism. Part 8. Spiritual metabolism related to the celebration of the Lord’s Supper.

Sunday, September 5, 2004

Point 9. Spiritual metabolism is related to the communion service or the celebration of the Lord’s supper.

2T 3:16-17 All Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness [virtue], that the man of God may be proficient [well-advanced, skilled, mature, an expert], equipped for every good production.

“Ego eimi” – e*gwv ei*mi = the first of the seven “I am” titles of Christ found in this Gospel, and found nowhere else.

“I am the bread of life,” JOH 6:48.
“I am the light of the world,” JOH 8:12.
“I am the door,” JOH 10:9.
“I am the good shepherd,” JOH 10:11.
“I am the resurrection and the life,” JOH 11:25.
“I am the way, the truth, and the life,” JOH 14:6.
“I am the true vine,” JOH 15:1.

God told Moses to communicate with His people, interview Pharaoh, and command him to let the children of God go so that they could go forth into the wilderness to worship Jehovah, EXO 3:1-12.

The Lord’s use of these titles at once identifies Him with Jehovah of the Old Testament, and unequivocally demonstrates His absolute deity.

This “new manna” will prevent spiritual death for the unbeliever in salvation, and “temporal death” for the believer after salvation, even though those are two different types of death.

Spiritual death is the penalty of sin, and was so given as the warning to our original parents in the garden –
GEN 2:17 “dying you will die.”

Living inside the cosmic system classifies that believer as living in temporal or cosmic death.

JAM 1:15 “When lust has become pregnant, it gives birth to sin. Furthermore, when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death.”

ROM 8:6 “For the mind set on the flesh [old sin nature] is dead [cosmic death], but the mind set on the Spirit is life and prosperity.”

The manna they ate in Exo 16 was really angel food –
PSA 78:25 Man did eat the bread of angels; He sent them food in abundance – actually sustained those Jews for 40 years but they all still died physically.

The eating is a picture of faith and the individual who does this will eat forever.

1CO 11:26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes.

“I am the living” = TLJC is the only one who alone can satisfy the soul and fill the void of each heart.

The manna in the Old Testament simply ministered to a temporal need.

Those who appropriate Christ to themselves by means of faith in Him and those who satisfy their hearts (right lobe) by feeding on His word, shall enjoy eternal life.

1. Eating is a necessary act.

We must perceive it, 2PE 3:18, have it metabolized by God the Holy Spirit, ROM 12:2, and apply to our lives,JAM 1:22.

2. Eating is responding to a necessary need.

JOB 23:12 “I have not departed from the doctrine from His lips; I have treasured the words of His mouth to be more important than my necessary food.”

MAT 4:4 Jesus answered by quoting Deuteronomy: “It takes more than bread to stay alive. It takes a steady stream of words from God’s mouth.” – Message

3. Eating implies an act of appropriation.

That food which was previously outside my body, is taken inside, assimilated, metabolized and it becomes a part of me, supplying health and strength.

4. Eating is an intensely personal act.

He frequently mentions His coming down from heaven, because spiritual and incorruptible life cannot be found in this world.

1PE 1:24-25 For “All flesh is like grass, And all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers, And the flower falls off, But the word of the Lord abides forever. And this is the word which was preached to you.”
ACT 16:31 “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you shall be saved,”

For believers the food or the manna from heaven is Bible doctrine, the mind of Christ, 1CO 2:16.

Before salvation, the object of our faith is TLJC. After salvation the object of our faith is Bible doctrine.

JER 3:15 Then I will give you shepherds after My own heart [after divine viewpoint], who will feed you on knowledge and understanding.
PSA 119:103 How sweet are Thy words to my taste! {Yes, sweeter} than honey to my mouth!
HEB 5:14 But solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil.

“Lambs” – arnion = baby sheep, lambs; analogous to the new believers.

“Shepherd” – pres-act-imp – poimaino = rule or clobber which is how the pastor-shepherd must function with some.

“Tend” – pres-act-imp – bosko = moderately and prudently feed my humble sheep, the seniors or the mature believers.

Eating His flesh = believing upon Him for the unbeliever and metabolizing His word for the believer.

1CO 5:7 For Christ our Passover also has been sacrificed.
JOH 1:29 “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”

REV 4:10 – they were casting down crowns and praising His name.

SPIRITUAL METABOLISM, PART 9: THE SPIRITUAL LIFE IS A UNIFORM SYSTEM OF BIBLICAL PRINCIPLES, NOT A UNIFORM PERSONALITY. 1CO 4:16-17, 11:1-2; 2TI 3:5; 1CO 12:12-20; ROM 6:13,16,19; 2PE 3:14-17; ACT 13:44-45, 17:2-5

The doctrine of spiritual metabolism. Part 9. The spiritual life is a uniform system of Biblical principles, not a uniform personality.

Wednesday, September 8, 2004

Point 1. Definition.
Point 2. The First Step Toward Spiritual Metabolism Begins with the Believer’s Free-will decisions.
Point 3. God’s grace provisions for the metabolization of Bible doctrine.
Point 4. The Mentorship of the Holy Spirit Related to Spiritual Metabolism.

Point 5. The Indwelling and Filling of the Spirit Related to Mentorship.
Point 6. Spiritual Metabolism is Related to the Mechanics of Divine Inspiration.
Point 7. Spiritual Metabolism from the Holy Spirit is the Divine Power for the Spiritual Life.
Point 8. The Biblical Warnings Concerning the Rejection of Spiritual Metabolism.
Point 9. Spiritual Metabolism Related to the Communion Service or the Celebration of the Lord’s Supper.

Point 10. Conclusion.
a. A system of personality imitation.

Mimetes = a follower of the doctrine being taught not the personality of the teacher.

b. Superficial mannerisms considered to be spiritual.

2TI 3:5 holding to a superficial form of eusebeia, the spiritual life, although they have denied its power; and avoid such men as these.

Mannerisms of dress – wearing black or dull colors is spiritual and considering bright colors to be worldly.

DEU 22:5 “A woman shall not wear man’s clothing, nor shall a man put on a woman’s clothing; for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord your God.”

Those who try to tell the ladies to refrain from the use of cosmetics, misquoting 1TI 2:9.

The Christian way of life is not designed to destroy your personality or make you different in your personality, as legalists attempt to do.

God has given you your very own spiritual life, and you are the only one who can live it.

God has provided for every believer his very own spiritual life with a uniform set of principles and divine mandates, and a means of glorifying Him.

The spiritual life is not a uniform personality – it is a uniform system of biblical mandates and biblical principles, not designed to change your personality, but designed to glorify God as He intended it to be.

d. Program Christianity.
e. Emotionalism which serves as human energy.
f. The works of the flesh.
g. Change of behavior pattern.
h. Spirituality by works.
i. Spirituality by yielding.

ROM 6:13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. – KJV

ROM 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

ROM 6:19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.

j. Spirituality through self-crucifixion.
k. Spirituality by prohibition, no drink-no smoke, etc.
l. Spirituality by relativity.

2CO 10:12 For we are not bold to class or compare ourselves with some of those who commend themselves; but when they measure themselves by themselves, and compare themselves with themselves, they are without understanding.

m. Spirituality through rituals.

Human power and creature power is manifested by rejecting doctrine and gives no spiritual energy to the believer.

Be careful of those who have a morbid interest in controversial questions and disputes about words, out of which arise envy, strife, abusive language, evil suspicions, 1TI 6:4.

“Be diligent” – aor-act-imp – spoudazo = to labor, to make a constant effort, to study.

You may be found by Him at the Judgment Seat to be in prosperity or a winner.

2PE 3:14 – spotless and blameless = without embarrassment and shame at the Judgment Seat of Christ.

There will be embarrassment at the Judgment Seat of Christ, REV 3:18, 1JO 2:28.

“Beloved” – agapetos = indicates the tremendous privileges that belong to you and me as believers in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Proginosko – “to know in advance.”

You will never be able to “be on your guard” or to have doctrine as a warning system until you metabolize that doctrine.

You cannot solve the problems of life with gnosis doctrine.
You cannot solve the problems of life with academic information.

Between the academic and the spiritual, there must be metabolism.

Verse 17 – “be on your guard” – indicates that with metabolized doctrine, we have an instant red alert system in our soul.

SPIRITUAL METABOLISM, PART 10: YOU CANNOT HANDLE YOUR PROBLEMS UNLESS YOU HAVE METABOLIZED DOCTRINE. 2PE 3:10-18; LUK 9:25; 1JO 3:10; EXO 23:2; MAT 7: 13-14, 22:14; REV 12:9; 1TH 5:24, PHI 1:6, 2:13

Spiritual metabolism part 10: You cannot handle your problems unless you have metabolized doctrine.

Thursday, September 9, 2004

Point 8. The Biblical Warnings Concerning the Rejection of Spiritual Metabolism.

Warnings concerning the rejection of the ministry of God the Holy Spirit in the realm of spiritual metabolism –
1TH 5:19 Do not quench the Spirit;

You quench the Holy Spirit when you allow the sin nature to control the soul, by stress in the soul producing sin, by false doctrine in the soul, or by using defensive mechanisms instead of the problem-solving devices.

EPH 4:30 “Furthermore, stop grieving the Holy Spirit, the God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.”

To make it from salvation to maturity requires the filling of the Holy Spirit and the daily metabolization of Bible doctrine.

JOH 14:16 I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper [Holy Spirit], that He may be with you “forever.”

A. Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, MAT 12:14-32.
B. Resistance of the Holy Spirit, Acts 7:51.

Acts 7:51“>ACT 7:51 You men who are stiff-necked and uncircumcised in your right lobes and ears [they heard and rejected common grace], you are always resisting the Holy Spirit; you are doing what your ancestors did.

To the unbeliever, the Holy Spirit acts as a human spirit in order to make the gospel real, 1CO 2:14.

A. Negative volition at the point of Gospel hearing.
B. Negative volition at the point of the divine call.
C. Negative volition at the point of salvation opportunity through faith in Christ.

A. Lying to the Holy Spirit, Acts 5:3.
B. Grieving the Holy Spirit, EPH 4:30.
C. Quenching the Holy Spirit, 1TH 5:19.

Lying against the Holy Spirit is inordinate ambition and inordinate competition in the spiritual realm.

They became very jealous and covetous and entered into inordinate ambition and inordinate competition in the spiritual realm.
They were the worst enemies of the Church, not because they did not give, but because they were hypocrites.

Arrogance becomes the basis of rejecting the ministry or the mentorship of God the Holy Spirit in this life.
Christian activism is born-again believers being used by satanic thought to whitewash the devil’s world.

A. Lying to the Holy Spirit, Acts 5:3.
B. Grieving the Holy Spirit, EPH 4:30.
C. Quenching the Holy Spirit, 1TH 5:19.

Grieving the Spirit is self-fragmentation from soul sins (the arrogance complex of sins, the lust pattern, the emotional complex of sins) and legalism or antinomianism. No matter how low you go into sin, you always have choices – the choice to rebound and then to learn doctrine.

The third sin a believer can commit against the Holy Spirit is quenching the Holy Spirit – 1TH 5:19 Stop quenching the Spirit.

This suggests that the believer involved has ignored or rejected the rebound technique over a long period of time.

A. When you have stress in your soul, you are quenching the Holy Spirit.
B. When the old sin nature controls your soul to produce human good and dead works, you are quenching the Holy Spirit.
C. When you have false doctrine in the soul, you are quenching the Holy Spirit.

Quenching the Spirit is entrance into the last three stages of apostasy or Christian degeneracy – blackout of the soul, scar tissue of the soul, and the total collapse of the believer. Quenching the Spirit is perpetual living inside cosmic two.

REV 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea.

2PE 3:10 – what endures the destruction of the universe establishes the true eternal values of life and the highest priorities you should have as a member of the royal family of God.

Metabolized doctrine will give you permanent values with all other values subservient or compliant with them.

2PE 3:11 – this challenge is based upon you believing there will be a time of the destruction of the entire universe at the termination of human history – the end of the Millennium, the future 1000-year reign of our Lord on earth, REV 20:2-7; REV 21:1.

Holy conduct – dative plural adjective – hagiais – a” + noun anastrophais – a*nastrofai” = a dedicated to God life-style.

Godliness – eusebeias – eu*sebeivai” = living the spiritual life.

“A dedicated to God life-style living the spiritual life.”

2PE 3:12 – “looking for” – prosdokao = looking forward.

LUK 9:25 “For what is a man profited if he gains the whole world, and loses or forfeits himself?”

Proginosko – “to know in advance.”

Verse 17 – “be on your guard” = with metabolized doctrine, we have an instant red alert system in our soul.

“Be on your guard” – pres-mid-imp – phulasso = to be on your guard to be on alert.

This is a command to be alert and have proper discernment concerning cosmic Christianity.

Do you put the Lord before people?

You cannot handle your problems and people problems unless you have metabolized doctrine.

Before we can have good relationships with people we must have a good relationship with God.

1JO 3:8 – cosmic believers are the agent of the devil.

1JO 3:10 By this the children of God and the children of the devil are obvious: anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who does not love his fellow-believer.

It provides discernment. This gives you the ability to hold your ground against public opinion, against the herd.

EXO 23:2 “You shall not follow the majority in doing evil,”

MAT 7:13 Enter by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide, and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and many are those who enter by it.

MAT 7:14 For the gate is small, and the way is narrow that leads to life, and few are those who find it.

MAT 22:14 “For many are called, but few are chosen.”

The majority of the cosmos is always wrong and there will be a minority which is always right.

REV 12:9 And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world;

Metabolized doctrine also provides objectivity in friendship as you switch from conditional love to unconditional, or personal to impersonal love.

Aor-pass-part – sunapago = to seduce; to be carried away – not carried away in an antagonistic way; to be carried away in a congenial way.

EPH 4:14 – they lie in wait to deceive and they do not even know they are under deception.

Sunapago = to be influenced by people, to be attracted to people, to think more of people than you do of doctrine and therefore to think more of people than you do of Jesus Christ.

Aorist tense – there are points of time deliberately designed to lead you astray from Bible doctrine.

Passive voice – the believer receives the action of the verb, even the mature believer.

Participle – denotes Satan’s purpose.

Error – plane = deception or deceit.

Those whom you love present a blind side unless you have metabolized doctrine for a red alert system to protect you.

“Unprincipled” – athesmos = heretical or phonies, or those who are putting on an act, like the stereo-type Christian.

To fall – ekpipto = to drift off course.

To drift off course from your own – idios – adjective meaning a private person, a believer-priest.

Steadfastness – sterignos = a secure position or a firm hold; more than steadfastness – it means your support system.
“To drift off course from your own support system.”

The “draw toward God” must be stronger than the draw toward those whom you love.

Satanic wisdom, human viewpoint, false doctrine, and religion characterize the believer who rejects spiritual metabolism.

“But” – particle de – used to emphasize the contrast with the previous verse.

“But grow” – pres-act-imp – auzano = to grow, to increase, to progress.
Joseph Thayer – in this passage it means to become greater with a substance, which is grace and knowledge.

En + locative – charis = in the sphere or the location of grace.

Grace is God doing all the work and providing everything for us to execute His plan.

1TH 5:24 Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass.

JOB 23:14 “For He performs what is appointed for me, And many such decrees are with Him.”

PHI 1:6 For I am confident of this very thing, that He who has begun in you an absolute good work will complete it until the day of Christ Jesus.

PHI 2:13 for it is God [the Holy Spirit] who is at work in you, both to will [give you motivation] and to work [He gives you the ability to execute] above and beyond His good pleasure.

1. The formation and the preservation of the canon of Scripture – the Bible.

Canon – Greek term Canon = rule or standard of measurement.

The words of Scripture are God’s own.

Man simply transmitted what he received.

2. The divine authorization of the local church as a classroom.

3. The provision of a certain pastor for the communication of doctrine.

4. The filling of the Holy Spirit and spiritual phenomena understood, so that it can be metabolized.

5. The provision and the privacy of the royal priesthood for receiving doctrine.

6. Logistical grace support to sustain your life so that you can fulfill the divine commands.

Knowledge is gnosis not epignosis.

Grow in grace and “en gnosis” = by means of gnosis – en (plus the instrumental of manner) gnosis.

Epignosis = metabolized doctrine, the only doctrine that works in your life.

This is not a reference to metabolizing the doctrine but to “hear the doctrine first as gnosis.”

Volition is the issue at gnosis and Peter will not command you to eat it.

You might not have the ability to eat especially if you lack the filling of the Spirit.

Feed the flock, 1PE 5:2.
Feed the babes, JOH 20:15.
Feed the adolescents,
JOH 20:16.
Feed the mature, JOH 20:17.

Without “your” consent, God the Holy Spirit will not metabolize the doctrine.

Gnosis is in the instrumental of manner which indicates the method or the means that momentum is achieved in the Christian life.

Spiritual metabolism. Part 12. The Bible was penned by over 40 authors over thousands of years, yet it is an integrated harmonious design.

Sunday, September 12, 2004

2PE 3:10-13 – we see a part of the believer’s future and the challenge of pressing on and the importance of metabolizing Bible doctrine.

2PE 3:10-11 – what endures the destruction of the universe should establish the true eternal values of life and the highest priorities you should have as a member of the royal family of God. the challenge is based upon you believing that there will be a time when the destruction of the entire universe at the termination of human history will take place.

1. The formation and the preservation of the canon of Scripture – the Bible.

You need a pastor-teacher who knows doctrine and who teaches it, EPH 4:11, 1TH 5:12.
There must be a willingness to sit down and listen to it, without getting arrogant, angry or emotional, 1PE 5:5.

1. The grace provision of the formation and the preservation of the canon of Scripture – the Bible.

NIV, AMP
2TI 3:16 All Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;

Which parts are the
God-breathed parts and which ones are not?

There are all kinds of disputes concerning which translation is the best, but less than 1% of all the Scriptures are under competent dispute.

No doctrine of Scripture depends on any of the disputed passages.

66 books, penned by over 40 different authors over thousands of years, and yet it is an integrated harmonious design.

One of the strongest evidences of the divine inspiration of Scripture is the phenomenon of fulfilled prophecy.
It is impossible to consistently prophesy specific future events with real accuracy unless you are God.

Anyone who attempts to prophesy specific events will be confronted by the staggering odds against success created by the inescapable “laws of mathematical probability.”

God declares boldly in His Word that these prophecies and their fulfillments are His signature upon the Bible and His verification that the Bible is truly the inspired (God-breathed) Word of God.

The precision of fulfilled prophecy becomes not only an irrefutable proof of God’s foreknowledge and sovereignty, but it also proves conclusively that the Bible is the revelation of God’s truth.

Statistical theory shows that if the probability of one event occurring is 1 in 5 and the probability of another event occurring is 1 in 10, then the probability of both events being fulfilled in sequence is 5 multiplied by 10 – the chance of both events occurring is 1 in 50.

A. The Messiah would come from the tribe of Judah, one of the 12 tribes descended from Jacob, GEN 49:10;LUK 3:23-34.
GEN 49:10 “The scepter shall not depart from Judah, Nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet, Until Shiloh comes, And to Him shall be the obedience of the peoples.”

This was fulfilled in –
HEB 7:14 For it is evident that our Lord was descended from Judah,
Probability = 1 chance in 12.

B. He would be born in Bethlehem, MIC 5:2, MAT 2:1.
MIC 5:2 But as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, {Too} little to be among the clans of Judah, From you One will go forth for Me to be ruler in Israel. His goings forth are from long ago, From the days of eternity.
Probability = 1 chance in 200.

C. He would be betrayed for 30 pieces of silver, ZEC 11:12, MAT 26:15
Probability = 1 chance in 50.

Combined Probability: 12 (Tribes) times 200 (cities) times 50 (at least 50 different ways of betrayal) = 1 Chance in 120,000.

The difficulty most of us would have in arranging our ancestors, the particular city of our birth, and the exact price in silver of our betrayal.

1. Be born in Bethlehem –
Probability: 1 in 200.

2. He would be preceded by a messenger:
Probability: 1 in 20.

ISA 40:3 A voice is calling, “Clear the way for the Lord in the wilderness; Make smooth in the desert a highway for our God.”
The New Testament Fulfillment: MAT 3:1-3.

3. He would enter Jerusalem on a colt.
Probability: 1 in 50.
ZEC 9:9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout {in triumph,} O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your king is coming to you; He is just and endowed with salvation, Humble, and mounted on a donkey, Even on a colt, the foal of a donkey.
New Testament Fulfillment: LUK 19:35-38.

4. He would be betrayed by a friend.
Probability = 1 in 10.
Old Testament Prediction:
PSA 41:9 Even my close friend, in whom I trusted, Who ate my bread, Has lifted up his heel against me.
New Testament Fulfillment:
JOH 13:18 I do not speak of all of you. I know the ones I have chosen; but {it is} that the Scripture may be fulfilled, “He who eats My bread has lifted up his heel against Me.”

5. He would have His hands and feet pierced.
Probability: 1 in 100.
Old Testament Prediction:
PSA 22:16 For dogs have surrounded me; A band of evildoers has encompassed me; They pierced my hands and my feet.

6. He would be wounded and whipped by His enemies.
Probability: 1 in 25.
Old Testament Prediction:
ISA 53:5 But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; The chastening for our well-being {fell} upon Him, And by His scourging we are healed.
New Testament Fulfillment: MAT 27:26.

7. He would be sold for thirty pieces of silver.
Probability: 1 in 100.
Old Testament Prediction:
ZEC 11:12 “And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver”New Testament Fulfillment: MAT 26:15.

8. He would be spit upon and beaten.
Probability: 1 in 10:
Old Testament Prediction:
ISA 50:6 I gave My back to those who strike {Me,} And My cheeks to those who pluck out the beard; I did not cover My face from humiliation and spitting.
New Testament Fulfillment: MAT 26:67.

9. He would have His betrayal money thrown in the Temple and given for a potter’s field.
Probability: 1 in 200.
Old Testament Prediction:
ZEC 11:13 Then the Lord said to me, “Throw it to the potter, {that} magnificent price at which I was valued by them.” So I took the thirty {shekels} of silver and threw them to the potter in the house of the Lord.
New Testament Fulfillment: MAT 27:3-7.

10. He would be silent before His accusers.
Probability: 1 in 100.
Old Testament Prediction:
ISA 53:7 He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He did not open His mouth; Like a lamb that is led to slaughter, And like a sheep that is silent before its shearers, So He did not open His mouth.
New Testament Fulfillment: MAT 27:12-14.

11. He would be crucified with thieves.
Probability: 1 in 100.
Old Testament Prediction:
ISA 53:12 He was numbered with the transgressors; Yet He Himself bore the sin of many, And interceded for the transgressors.
New Testament Fulfillment: MAT 27:38.

The combined probability that one man could fulfill just 11 of these prophecies = one chance in 10 to the 19th power, or one chance in 10,000,000,000,000,000,000.
There is only one chance in 10 billion times a billion that the prophets could have accurately predicted these eleven specific prophecies by chance alone, or that any one man’s life could fulfill these detailed prophecies by chance alone.

MAT 19:26 “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
LUK 1:37 “For nothing will be impossible with God.”
LUK 18:27 “The things impossible with men are possible with God.”

DEU 4:2 “You shall not add to the word which I am commanding you, nor take away from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.”
ISA 40:8 The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever.

DEU 12:32 “Whatever I command you, you shall be careful to do; you shall not add to nor take away from it.”
MAT 24:35 “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words shall not pass away.”

JER 26:2 …all the words that I have commanded you to speak to them. Do not omit a word!
MAR 8:38 “For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.”

PSA 138:2 I will bow down toward Thy holy temple, And give thanks to Thy name for Thy lovingkindness and Thy truth; For Thou hast magnified Thy word according to all Thy name.
PSA 138:2 I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.

Tuesday AM – Secret sins and the Defense mechanisms.
Tuesday PM – Jezebel and demonic activity.
Wednesday AM – Deception.
Wednesday PM – Weak women controlling stronger men.
Thursday AM – Sex and fornication.
Thursday PM – Divine discipline.

Christ’s eyes are like unto a flame of fire =
His inspection of every believer is severe.

Defense mechanisms are designed to hide or to relieve the conflicts and stresses in the soul that cause anxiety, hysteria, fear, worry, or other categories of the emotional complex of sins, the worst being guilt.

Denial
Withdrawal
Projection
Rationalization
Direct attack

Choosing to use any defense mechanism is volition going in the opposite direction from your spiritual life.

Burnished bronze = historical judgment; the principle that Jesus Christ controls history.

TLJC still gives them a warning concerning falling away from God through idol worship or through an inordinate attachment or extreme devotion to something.

Denial
Withdrawal
Projection
Rationalization
Direct attack

Jezebel has stamped her name on history as the representative of all that is conniving, crafty, malicious, revengeful, and cruel.

She represents all of the distractions that the opposite sex and false religion can make upon those believers who desire to execute their very own personal drama and fulfill their personal sense of destiny.

She represents any person or goal or thing that is designed to lure the believer away from executing his very own personal drama and fulfilling his personal sense of destiny.

She chased many of God’s people away from the plan of God just as Jezebel of the Old Testament did, 1KI 19:1-3.

Ahab was a great soldier, he was a great military man, he frightened the Assyrians, he was great and he performed marvelous feats.

Jezebel in Thyatira is controlling believers, luring them from the blessing of the PPOG into the cursing of the cosmic system.

The casting her upon a bed of sickness, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of her deeds = the principle of divine discipline upon believers.

Because He loves us and He has eyes like a flame of fire, and His feet are like burnished bronze, He takes stern measures to alert them to their critical situation and to encourage them to rebound and reenter the PPOG.

All divine discipline is administered in grace.
Divine discipline is for believers only, HEB 12:8, and occurs only in this life, not in eternity, REV 21:4.

1. Warning discipline
2. Intensive discipline
3. Dying discipline

As a general rule, warning discipline is in itself less severe than the believer’s self-induced misery.

Because he has not yet degenerated into the later stages of negative volition, this believer is still sensitive to the truth.

If the believer ignores or rejects divine warnings, he eventually requires intensive discipline.

Where there is life there is hope.

Intensive discipline alone is worse than self-induced misery: when these two categories of suffering are combined, the total pain from God and from self is extremely severe.

“Hardness of heart,” or scar tissue of the soul, eventually locks his volition in negative, HEB 4:7; 6:6.

Having almost passed the point of no return, he arrives at the third and final stage of divine discipline, the sin unto death, 1JO 5:16.

1JO 5:16 “There is a sin terminating unto death.”
PSA 118:17-18 “I shall not die but live; I shall live and declare the works of the Lord. The Lord has disciplined me severely [intensive discipline], but He has not given me over to death [dying discipline].”

PHI 3:19 “Whose end of life is ruin [dying discipline], whose god is his emotions.”

REV 3:16 Therefore, because you are lukewarm [cosmic believer], neither cold [unbeliever], nor hot [believer in the PPOG], I am about to vomit you out of My mouth [administration of the sin unto death].

Such a rebellious believer will enjoy complete happiness in heaven,
REV 21:4, but he receives no eternal rewards with which to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ forever, 1CO 3:15.

1JO 3:1-2, See how great a love the Father has bestowed upon us, that we should be called children of God; and such we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we shall be. We know that, when He appears, we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him just as He is.

SPIRITUAL METABOLISM, PART 13: THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HAVING GNOSIS (KNOWLEDGE) AND EPIGNOSIS KNOWLEDGE (WISDOM). 1TI 2:3-4, 2TI 3:1-7, 2TI 2:23-26, COL 1:9-10, 2PE 3:17-18, PSA 101:6-7, MAT 7:12-20, PRO 16:18

Spritual metabolism. Part 13. The difference between having gnosis (knowledge) and epignosis knowledge (wisdom).

Wednesday, September 22, 2004

There is a tremendous difference between having gnosis (knowledge) and epignosis knowledge (wisdom).

1. The will of God for mankind is two-fold.
For the unbeliever: Salvation.
For the believer: Metabolized doctrine.

1TI 2:3 This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the epignosis knowledge of the truth.

TIT 1:1 Paul, a bond-servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, for the faith of those chosen of God and the [epignosis] knowledge of the truth which is according to living the spiritual life,

EPH 4:13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the epignosis knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ.

2. The cosmic believer fails to metabolize doctrine, 2TI 3:2-7.

EPH 6:2-3 Honor your father and mother (which is the first commandment with a promise), that it may be well with you, and that you may live long on the earth.

The carnal believer does not metabolize doctrine because the power of the Holy Spirit does not function in the cosmic system.

They are always learning academic subjects and doctrine, but it is all gnosis and only academic. They are never able to come to epignosis doctrine.

3. Only metabolized doctrine can be useful for problem solving,
EPH 1:17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the epignosis knowledge of Him.

4. Phile 6 – all genuine fellowship with believers is based on metabolized doctrine and virtue.
PHM 1:6 {and I pray} that the fellowship of your faith may become effective through the epignosis knowledge of every good thing which is in you for Christ’s sake.

5. Only metabolized doctrine can fulfill the mandate of virtue first in the PPOG, PHI 1:9.

PHI 1:9 In fact, I pray this, that your virtue-love may excel to the maximum still more and more by means of epignosis knowledge metabolized doctrine resulting in all spiritual discernment,

2PE 1:8 for if these {qualities} are yours and are increasing, they render you neither useless nor unfruitful in the true knowledge epignosis knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

6. Only metabolized doctrine can fulfill the PPOG, COL 1:9-10.

7. Only metabolized doctrine can provide blessing under the PPOG.

2PE 1:2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you by means of the epignosis knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord;

2PE 1:3 seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the epignosis knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.

2PE 3:17-18, you therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, be on your guard lest, being carried away by the error of unprincipled men, you fall from your own steadfastness, but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him {be} the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.

8. You can have a zeal to know God but if you do not have metabolized doctrine it is useless.

ROM 10:2 For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not in accordance with knowledge.

9. True wealth and prosperity comes from epignosis doctrine, COL 2:2.

10. The new man can only be renewed and energized through metabolized doctrine.

MAT 16:23 But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to Me; for you are not setting your mind on God’s interests, but man’s.”

PSA 119:63 I am a companion of all those who respect Thee, and of those who keep Your doctrines.

PSA 101:6 My eyes shall be upon the “faithful” of the land, that they may dwell with me; he who walks in integrity is the one who will minister to me.

PSA 101:7 He who practices deceit shall not dwell within my house; he who speaks falsehood shall not maintain his position before me.

2SA 1:26 You have been very pleasant to me. Your love to me was more wonderful than the love of women.
1SA 20:23 “As for the agreement of which you and I have spoken, behold, the Lord is between you and me forever.”

The greatest destroyer of homes is the person who destroys their own.

It is that over a period of years, they are so full of gnosis and no epignosis that they destroy everything around them that is destroyable.

OBA 1:3 “The arrogance of your heart has deceived you,”

PRO 16:18 Pride {goes} before destruction, And a haughty spirit before stumbling.

PRO 18:12 Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, But humility {goes} before honor.
PRO 29:23 A man’s pride will bring him low, But a humble spirit will obtain honor.

“And heard” – kai – kaiV + aor-act-ind – ekousate – h*kouvsate = to hear and to concentrate.

Constantive aorist – contemplates the action of the verb in its entirety. It takes every time the believer assembles in the classroom of Bible doctrine and submits to academic discipline of the pastor, and gathers it up into one entirety.

Active voice – the believer in submission to the authority of the pastor produces the action of the verb.

Indicative mood – declarative = all spiritual growth demands academic discipline and respect for the authority of the one communicating doctrine in order for the P.M.A. of Bible doctrine to function properly.

Spiritual authority resides in the Word of God and in its communicator, the pastor-teacher.

The pastor-teacher’s authority is limited to his own sheep, though his sheep need not be under his face-to-face ministry, as with the early church, COL 2:1.

The Royal Family Honor Code demands authority orientation in the form of academic discipline when the pastor is teaching Bible doctrine.

The issue is the mystery doctrine of the Church-age perceived and metabolized in your soul.

COL 1:29 And for this purpose also I labor to the point of exhaustion, constantly striving according to His power which mightily works within me.

Never permit preoccupation with the pastor’s feet of clay or his personality to hinder your perception of Bible doctrine.

The feet of clay syndrome is when we place our trust in a self-created illusion.

The demonstration of the Spirit and of power from a teacher of doctrine is the manifestation of the filling of the Holy Spirit and the accuracy of the doctrine taught.

Unrealistic expectation interposes frustrations which distract from Bible doctrine and destroy the true focus of the Christian life, which is occupation with Christ – not people.

As long as people react to others who do not treat them the way they want to be treated it is impossible for any virtue to exist.

The focus that is substituted for occupation with Christ is eyes on self, eyes on people, or eyes on things.

Eyes on self is arrogance. This makes you selfish, self-centered, and totally unacceptable.

Eyes on people is lust. This is where you become frustrated by comparing yourself with others, thinking that others are getting better treatment, and are the recipients of a better category of love.

Eyes on things is covetousness.
This is when you desire to have or possess what someone else has or possesses.

This explains lasciviousness, inordinate ambition, and inordinate competition, coupled with a lifestyle that destroys or distorts love in the human race.

Role model arrogance is another problem that can hinder you from hearing the word of God properly.
Role is defined as the proper or customary function of a person.

Society and people in general have assigned certain customary functions to certain activities in life, to politicians, ministers, husbands, wives, teachers, public servants, military personnel, and the successful and famous.

When anyone departs from his role model, he is condemned, rejected, criticized, and maligned.

Those who criticize are sinning also and operate under a double standard.

Such criticism implies that certain sins are worse than others, when in the eyes of God all sins are the same except for the seven sins in PRO 6:16-19.

Individuals and society in general like to see everything in its proper place, and resent any deviation in assigned thought, action, or personality.

If anyone deviates from his proper place, society rises up and condemns and destroys the person who stepped“out of line.”

Society has developed a double standard: one standard for the role model, and one standard for self.

The individual excuses himself for his own sins and failures, but condemns the role model for the identical sins and failures.

Among Christians, role model arrogance manufactures hypocrisy and legalism, two of the characteristics of self-righteous arrogance.

To hear – aor-act-ind – akouo = to hear, listen or to concentrate under someone’s authority and to accept the authority of the doctrine being taught.

When he gets out of line, he gets double discipline, LUK 12:48; 1TI 5:17; JAM 3:1.

1TI 5:17 Those pastor-teachers who have ruled well with the result that they keep ruling honorably, they must be considered worthy of double honor, most of all those who work hard to the point of exhaustion in the study of the word and the teaching of doctrine.

ISA 54:17 “No weapon which is formed against you will prosper, and every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and his vindication is from Me,” decrees the Lord.

COL 1:29 And for this purpose also I labor to the point of exhaustion, constantly striving according to His power which mightily works within me.
1TI 5:17 Those pastor-teachers who have ruled well with the result that they keep ruling honorably, they must be considered worthy of double honor, most of all those who work hard to the point of exhaustion in the study of the word and the teaching of doctrine.

NEH 8:18 And he read from the book of the Law of God daily, from the first day to the last day.
PRO 8:30 Then I [doctrine] was beside Him, as a master workman; and I was daily His delight, rejoicing always before Him,

LUK 19:47 And He was teaching daily in the temple; and the chief priests and the scribes and the leading men among the people were trying to destroy Him,
ACT 5:42 And every day, in the temple and from house to house, they kept right on teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ.
Acts 20:31 “Therefore be on the alert, remembering that night and day for a period of three years I did not cease to admonish each one with tears.”

As a believer in TLJC and a member of the RFOG, you are given the job profile of the pastor so you can make the right decisions concerning the selection of your pastor in EPH 4:11-16; COL 1:23-29; 2TI 2:24-26, 1TI 3:1-9; TIT 1:6-9; PHI 2:16-30; 1PE 5:1-4; EPH 3:7-13.

EPH 4:11-16 – he is to equip the saints for the work of service and he causes the growth of believers in the body of Christ.
COL 1:23-29 – he is to rejoice in his sufferings for the body of Christ and fully carry out the preaching of the word of God, namely mystery doctrine, inculcating every believer and teaching every believer in order that he may present every person complete or mature in Christ.

COL 1:29 And for this purpose also I labor to the point of exhaustion, constantly striving according to His power which mightily works within me.
2TI 2:24-26 he must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged, with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition.

1TI 3:1-9 he must be above reproach, temperate, prudent, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, gentle, uncontentious, free from the love of money.

Elder – presbuteros – “the old man” = in the sense of being in the highest authority, commander, commanding officer, elder; it refers to the authority of the pastor.

1PE 5:1 Therefore, I exhort the elders among you, as {your} fellow elder
2JO 1:1 The elder to the chosen lady and her children,
3JO 1:1 The elder to the beloved Gaius, whom I love in truth.

ACT 20:28 “Be on guard for yourselves and for the flock, among whom the Holy Spirit has made you guardian to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.”

EZE 18:20 The son will not bear the punishment for the father’s iniquity, nor will the father bear the punishment for the son’s iniquity; the righteousness of the righteous will be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked will be upon himself.

2CO 10:8 for even if I should rub it in about our authority which God gave for your edification, and not to destroy you, I shall not feel ashamed.
1TH 5:12 But we request of you, brethren, that you know [respect the authority of] those pastor-teachers who work hard among you [studying and teaching], who have command over you in the Lord, and who give you instruction [admonition].

2CO 13:10 For this reason, I am writing these things while absent in order that when I am present, I may not use severity in compatibility with the authority which God has given to me for the purpose of your edification, and not for the purpose of destroying you.

He is the head of the local assembly and the one you are responsible to akouo, listen to and concentrate upon.
It means responsibility assumed.

MAT 7:1-2 “Do not judge lest you be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you.”

1. You are disciplined for judging or conspiracy.
2. You are disciplined for the arrogance of assuming you can do a better job of judging the pastor than God can.
3. Discipline for the sin or sins named in the gossip, maligning, or slander are transferred to you.

Since the pastor gets double discipline, 1TI 5:17; JAM 3:1; triple-compound discipline times two intensifies your discipline beyond anything you can stand.

1. You are under double discipline for judging or conspiracy.
2. You are doubly disciplined for the arrogance of assuming you can do a better job of judging the pastor than God can.
3. You are under double discipline for the sin or sins named in the gossip, maligning, or slander are transferred to you.

1CO 14:40 “Let all things be done decently and in order.”

The authority of the PPOG is the mystery doctrine of the Church-age recorded in the New Testament epistles.
The authority of the pastor as the communicator of the PPOG is stated directly in the New Testament epistles.

1. The power of the Holy Spirit inside the PPOG.
2. The positive volition of the Royal Family of God directed toward the Bible teaching of the pastor.

PHI 4:9 These things [doctrinal principles] also you have learned [manthano – learned from a teacher under strict academic discipline] and received [or accepted through metabolization of doctrine] and having heard[under discipline]

MAR 12:30 “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.”

If Bible doctrine or the words of Christ are not abiding in you, you do not have love for God, JOH 5:38-42.

If a believer really loves God, it will be manifested by his desire to hear God’s words, JOH 8:47.

Akouo – “hears” – pres-act-ind – akouei – a*kouvei = to hear in an audience, to listen, to concentrate, to understand, to learn, to give a hearing.

SPIRITUAL METABOLISM, PART 16: UNREAL- ISITIC EXPECTATIONS AND ROLE MODEL ARROGANCE. PHI 4:9, ISA 2:22, PSA 62:9, JOB 40:6-8, 2CO 5:16, 1CO 2:1-4

Unrealistic expectations and role model arrogance.

Sunday, September 26, 2004

PHI 4:9 These things [doctrinal principles] also you have learned [manthano – learned from a teacher under strict academic discipline] and received [or accepted through metabolization of doctrine] and having heard[under discipline]

“To hear” – “having heard” – aor-act-ind – akouo = to hear, listen, or concentrate under someone’s authority or to accept the authority of the doctrine being taught.

1. Unrealistic expectation which inevitably produces frustrations that distract from Bible doctrine and destroy the true focus of the Christian life, which is occupation with Christ – not people.

PSA 118:9 It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in princes.
PSA 146:3 Do not trust in princes, in mortal man, in whom there is no deliverance.
JER 17:5 Thus says the Lord, “Cursed is the man who trusts in mankind and makes flesh his strength, and whose heart turns away from the Lord.”

JOB 11:12 And an idiot will become intelligent when the foal of a wild donkey is born a man.
ISA 2:22 Stop regarding man, whose breath {of life} is in his nostrils; for why should he be esteemed?
PSA 62:9 Men of low degree are only vanity, and men of rank are a lie; in the balances they go up; they are together lighter than breath.

Unrealistic expectations destroy all human relationships, whether it is your relationship with your pastor-teacher as his student, or friendship, romance, or marriage.

2. Role model arrogance is another problem that can hinder you from hearing the word of God properly.

Society and people in general have assigned certain customary functions to certain activities in life, to politicians, ministers, husbands, wives, teachers, public servants, military personnel, and the successful and famous.

When someone lives in role model arrogance, when anyone departs from his assigned role by them, he is condemned, rejected, criticized, and maligned.

JOH 8:7 He straightened up, and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him {be the} first to throw a stone at her.”

In role model arrogance, the individual excuses himself for his own sins and failures, but condemns the role model for the identical sins and failures.

Role model arrogance causes believers to fail because of lack of impersonal love for all mankind and lack of occupation with Christ.
Role model arrogance ignores the basic doctrine that all believers sin after salvation and continue to have a sin nature.

In role model arrogance and the feet of clay syndrome, you cannot impose impossible standards on others while you ignore the fact that you too have sinned, possibly committing worse sins than those which you condemn in the role model.

PHI 4:9 These things also you have learned and received having heard under discipline

What is important is not the lifestyle of your pastor-teacher, but does he emphasize the mystery doctrine of the Church-age and the execution of the PPOG.

Role model arrogance distracts congregations from doctrine by emphasizing the personality of the pastor or the evangelist rather than the message.
With Bible doctrine as the number one priority in your life, you learn to love God the Father, and you learn to insert the virtue of impersonal love into human relationships.

From knowledge of Bible doctrine you find your true role model who is perfect – our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

The purpose of the PPOG for the Church-age is to create invisible heroes, mature believers who are winners in life; not people who are involved in unrealistic expectations and role model arrogance.

a. The intensified problem of the double standard, people justify their own sins while condemning the sins of others.
b. The intensified problem of legalistic arrogance is a device used to condemn others.
c. Iconoclastic arrogance is a major reason for believers not continuing in the PPOG.

Iconoclasm is the function of destroying an icon or an idol.
Iconoclastic arrogance = subjective preoccupation with other people.
Iconoclastic arrogance demonstrates the fact that people are divorced from reality because they will not take the responsibility for their own decisions.

1. An excessive admiration or personal love creates an idol out of a person.
2. This is followed by the idol showing their feet of clay (doing something wrong or revealing the fact that they possess an OSN).

3. When the idol does something wrong (real or imagined), there is a reaction by those who created the idol.
4. Iconoclastic arrogance seeks to destroy the image the person has created.

The demonstration of the Spirit and of power from a teacher of doctrine is the manifestation of the filling of the Holy Spirit and the accuracy of the doctrine taught.

The illusion created by arrogance becomes the delusion destroyed by arrogance.

The idol of perfection created by this arrogance can be a spiritual image, a personality image, a hero image, a romantic image, or a beautiful image.

Iconoclastic arrogance destroys friendship, romance, marriage, business, professional relationships, Christian fellowship, and a spiritual leader of some kind.

The sooner a congregation has attained impersonal love, the sooner it will overlook idiosyncrasies, mannerisms, habits, and failures of those in spiritual leadership.

To receive from whomever is your right pastor-teacher, you need to beware of the feet of clay syndrome, iconoclastic arrogance, unrealistic expectation, and role model arrogance.

GEN 12:13-19 – Abraham willfully lied to deceive the Pharaoh and protect his own life.

GEN 26:7 – he committed the same sin as his father Abraham, he lived in fear of losing his life and therefore he willfully lied and told the men of Gerah that Rebekah was not his wife but his sister.

GEN 25:31-33 – he was naturally crafty and sly and stole the birthright from Esau.
GEN 27:18-29 – his master deception over his father Isaac, and yet God was faithful to him.

The Lord changed his name to Israel = “a prince with God.”
When the Lord appears in the O.T. He says, “I am the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.”

Moses – EXO 2:12 – he willfully killed a man with his bare hands.
He made excuses to the Lord, EXO 3:11, saying that he was not fit to be used by the Lord.

JUD 6:13 – he said, “I cannot go because the Lord has forsaken Israel.”
JUD 6:15 – he then said, “I am not fit for the job.”
JUD 8:24-27 – he foolishly makes a golden ephod which becomes a snare to Israel.

JUD 14:1-3 – he kept associating with evil people, basically wild and perverted women.
He was very spiritual at times, JUD 13:25,
JUD 15:14, yet he was under the power of carnal lust.

He had a deep desire for prostitutes and then finally for a ravishing woman named Delilah.
JUD 15:4 – he was childish in his plans, yet courageous in battle, JUD 15:11-14.

1SA 21:1-10 – David willfully sinned and told a lie and the result of his lie was that an entire city was wiped out (city of Nob)
He “faked madness” and made the enemy believe he was crazy, and as a result hundreds died, 1SA 2:11-18.
David failed in his responsibility as the King, 2SA 11:1.

While he was in Jerusalem, 2SA 11:2-27, he ended up in certain “shocking” sins.
He committed adultery, He got a man drunk, He committed murder, And he willfully lied.

2SA 6:1-13 – he did not honor the word of God.
1Ch 21 – David rejected the promises of God and even questioned the faithfulness of God.
We have his failure to forgive completely his son Absalom.

David’s son, Solomon, born from the woman he murdered for, Bathsheba.
He lived an excessive luxurious lifestyle, 1KI 4:22-23.
He married all kinds of ungodly women, 1KI 11:1-2.
He lived in excessive sensuality, 1KI 11:3.
He even sanctioned idolatry, 1KI 11:4-7.

1Ki 19 – Elijah just had a tremendous victory and then he runs from the threat of a woman.
Jonah – the reluctant self-centered, filled-with-hatred missionary.

These realistic portraits of the great heroes of the faith teach us to expect perfection out of no human being – including ourselves.
Perfection is found only in heaven and in the person of the perfect God-man, the Lord Jesus.

Application and practice result in peace and prosperity.

Kai – kaiV = “and” + eidete en emoi – ei!dete e*n e*moiv = “and seen in me.”
To see = aor-act-ind – eido = to see in the sense of knowing, or perceiving.

It means perceptive perspective or perceptive ability = the principle to understand.

Culminative aorist tense – regards the function of perception and metabolization of Bible doctrine as being completed but emphasizes the existing result of continuing to do so.

Active voice – the mature believer produces the action of the verb by having maximum epignosis or understanding in his right lobe.

Indicative mood – views the action of the verb from the standpoint of the supergrace reality of a mature believer.

“In me” – en – e*n + instrumental of ego – emoi – e*moi = “by means of me,” or “through me.”

“Through me,” or “with the help of me” or “by means of me” – the teaching ministry of the pastor-teacher.

ASV – PHI 4:9 The things which ye both learned and received and heard and saw in me, these things do:
NKJV – PHI 4:9 The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do,
KJV – PHI 4:9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do:
AMP – PHI 4:9 Practice what you have learned and received and heard and seen in me,

TLB – PHI 4:9 Keep putting into practice all you learned from me and saw me doing,
NIV – PHI 4:9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me – put it into practice.
NASB – PHI 4:9 The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things;

If we were going to use the word “do” it would be the Greek verb “poieo.”.
Application – prasso = to practice, to execute, or to apply and execute.

Poieo is used for anything where you simply copy something that someone’s done, or whether you have normal function in life of doing something.

Pres-act-imp – prassete – pravssete = to “practice,” to perform repeatedly or habitually, to execute,
+ demonstrative pronoun tauta – tauta = these things.

Amplified Bible – PHI 4:9 Practice what you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and model your way of living on it,

Prasso = to be executing or putting into action; to press on, to apply what you know to a situation, and solve it or execute it.
Customary present = what habitually occurs with a mature believer.

To get to supergrace you have to have maximum epignosis in your right lobe, and maximum epignosis must be applied.

They are getting ready to move across no man’s land to ultra supergrace, the second and last stage of spiritual maturity.

The stronger you become spiritually, the more opposition you will have from Satan and the kingdom of darkness.

This opposition will come in the form of your three great enemies, the world, the flesh, and the devil, 1JO 2:15-17.

Active voice – the supergrace believer produces the action, and the imperative mood is a command.

Doctrine must be in the right lobe to execute properly or put into action the great PPOG.
Doctrine must be in the launching pad of the right lobe.

You cannot apply what you know, gnosis.
You can only apply what you understand, epignosis.

Kai – kaiV [and], ho theos – o& qeoV” [the God], and definite article tes – th” [of] eirene – ei*rhvnh” [prosperity].

Eirene – descriptive genitive singular form is used in the sense of the Hebrew shalom = prosperity.

Nominative subject = theos because God is the source of our prosperity.

God says you will have no prosperity from Me until your gnosis is epignosis, and until you have enough to crack the maturity barrier.

“The God of prosperity, shall be” – fut-act-ind – estai – e!stai = “shall be.”

There is no prosperity unless it comes from God, or unless you are associated with a supergrace or ultra supergrace believer.

“With you” – meth – meq= + genitive plural of the personal pronoun su – humon – un.

PHI 4:9 These things [doctrinal principles] also you have learned [manthano – learned from a teacher under strict academic discipline] and received [or accepted through metabolization of doctrine] and having heard[under discipline] and have understood by means of me [Paul’s teaching ministry]. Be putting these into action and the God of prosperity shall be with you, all of you [supergrace believers].

ACT 10:34 “that God is not one to show partiality”

God has certain spiritual laws and principles that we are to follow concerning the giving of ourselves, our time, talent, and treasure.
If we cannot believe God’s promises in this realm, how can we be sure that we can believe His promises for eternal salvation and everything else we claim to believe?

One extreme concerns those people who hear that God wants them to prosper and follow Him simply for that reason.
The opposite extreme – the belief that prosperity for Christians is totally wrong.

When you do this, you will prosper physically, mentally, emotionally and financially.

God owns all the silver and all the gold in the world because He created all the wealth on this earth, HAG 2:8.

PSA 24:1 The earth is the Lord’s, and all it contains, The world, and those who dwell in it.
PSA 50:10 For every beast of the forest is Mine, The cattle on a thousand hills.

ROM 8:32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?
PSA 84:11 No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly.

GEN 13:2 Now Abram was very rich in livestock, in silver and in gold.
GEN 24:1 Now Abraham was old, advanced in age; and the Lord had blessed Abraham in every way.

DEU 8:18 “But you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who is giving you power to make wealth,”
3JO 1:2 Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers.

PROSPERITY SPECIAL, PART 2: GOD WANTS US TO POSSESS PROSPERITY, WEALTH, AND MONEY, BUT HE DOESN'T WANT THEM TO POSSESS US. PHI 4:9, PSA 112:1-3, GEN 1:11, 2CO 9:9-11, MAT 28:18, LUK 10:1-8, MAR 8:13-21, 2CO 9:6-12

God wants us to possess prosperity, wealth and money, but He doesn’t want it to possess us.

Thursday, September 30, 2004

MAT 27:57 And when it was evening, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who himself had also become a disciple of Jesus.

LUK 8:3 and Joanna the wife of Chuza, Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and many others who were contributing to their support out of their private means.

God wants us to possess prosperity, wealth and money, but He does not want them to possess us.

2PE 1:4 For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, in order that by them you might become partakers of the divine nature,

GEN 1:26 Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness;

Even in the creation of the earth, we see manifestation of the abundance that God planned for us by looking inside certain kinds of fruits and vegetables, GEN 1:11.

GEN 1:11 Then God said, “Let the earth sprout vegetation, plants yielding seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit after their kind, with seed in them, on the earth”; and it was so.
