The Angelic Conflict. Part 53. Executing the PPOG and glorifying God in the angelic conflict.

Sunday, April 2, 2006

Point 12. The Existence of Free Will in the Human Race and how it Perpetuates the Angelic Conflict.

This is actually promoted by many Calvinists, especially hyper-Calvinists.
They teach that man cannot choose God or the plan of God and therefore God must choose Him.

This comes from certain scriptures being taken out of context, not comparing scripture with scripture, and a problem that John Calvin and a lot of his followers have, they did not know the original language.

Many Calvinists hold to the doctrine of double predestination which is heresy and an attack upon the justice of God. This is the teaching that God has predestined some to be saved and some to the eternal lake of fire.

PSA 51:5 “Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, And in sin my mother conceived me.”
PSA 58:3 The wicked are estranged from the womb; These who speak lies go astray from birth.

ROM 5:12 “Through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned - when Adam sinned”
1CO 15:22 in Adam all die
EPH 2:3 - we were by nature children of wrath,

Every member of the human race since then has been born into sin without their consent; therefore, if God sent them to hell because they were born sinners without giving them an opportunity to believe, He would be unjust in doing so.

A. In evangelism.
Mankind as a free agent in the devil’s world can believe in Jesus Christ and have eternal life, or he can reject salvation and have eternal condemnation, sharing the judgment of Satan and his fallen angels.
B. In the PPOG for the Church-age.

As Royal Family of God, every Church-age believer can execute the PPOG and glorify God as a part of the system of victory in the angelic conflict.
Or, he can live in the cosmic system and follow the trends of independence established by Satan.

If you cannot see the manifestation of God in fallen man, you will never see Him at all.

Exactly as the Snake seduced Eve with his smooth patter, you are being lured away from the simple purity of virtue-love for Christ.

LUK 14:18- “bought a piece of property and need to look it over."
LUK 14:19 - they have bought a business and a job and really need to check it out.
LUK 14:20 - they are married and need to get home to their wife.

You have a free will and as a member of the Royal Family of God, you can execute the PPOG and glorify God as a part of the system of victory in the angelic conflict.

You can live in the cosmic system and follow the trends of independence established by Satan.

Through rejection of Christ or the plan of God, mankind chooses the plan of Satan, which runs the range from religion to legalism, socialism, all forms of arrogance, emotionalism, atheism or any other form of independence from God.

1. Phase one - salvation.
In choosing the plan of God at salvation through faith in Christ, regenerate mankind becomes positionally superior to angels through the baptism of the Spirit and resultant positional sanctification, HEB 1:1-14.

The regenerate member of the human race is now positionally higher than angels, since we are in union with Christ who is now seated at the right hand of the Father and higher than angels.
HEB 1:14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent out to render service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation?

2. Phase two - the believer in time, experiential sanctification - eusebeia - “godliness” = the unique spiritual life.

You can put another nail in Satan’s coffin now by being positionally superior to angels; and by living in your very own predesigned plan, you can be superior to angels experientially.

3. Phase three - the believer in eternity.
At the resurrection of the Royal Family of God, believers become physically superior to all angelic creatures through the possession of a resurrection body.

a. Alpha Company: the resurrection of Christ at the end of the great power experiment of the Hypostatic Union, for He is “the first fruits of them that slept.” Mat 28; Mar 16; Luk 24; Joh 20-21; Acts 2:31-34.

b. Bravo Company: the resurrection of the Royal Family of God at the end of the great power experiment of the Church-age; JOH 14:1-3; PHI 3:20-21; 1CO 15:51-57; 1TH 4:13-18; 1JO 3:1-2.

c. Charlie Company: the resurrection of the Old Testament believers and Tribulational martyrs at the end of the Tribulation and the Second Advent, DAN 12:13; ISA 26:19-20; MAT 24:31; REV 20:4.

d. Delta Company: the resurrection of the Millennial saints at the end of the Millennium.

a. For believers only: resurrection to eternal life. The resurrection body is eternal and permanent, superior to that of angelic creatures, DAN 12:2; JOH 5:24-29; 1CO 15:20-22; REV 20:6,13.

b. For unbelievers: a resurrection where they are cast into the lake of fire forever, MAT 25:41; 1CO 15:24;REV 20:5-15, called the “second resurrection” or the last judgment.

For seven years, during the Tribulation until the Second advent, Church-age believers in resurrection bodies are a demonstration to demons that their position was totally wrong and that God’s judgment of them is totally right.

If we were given physical superiority now in time, there would be no contest in the angelic conflict; for we must be an inferior but rational form of creation to resolve the angelic conflict.

Judge - fut-act-ind - krino = to make decisions for, to conclude, to approve, to decree, to rule, to govern, to preside over with the power of giving judicial decisions.

THE ANGELIC CONFLICT. PART 54. A SLAVE AND AN HEIR ARE EXACTLY ALIKE WHILE THE HEIR REMAINS A CHILD OR A MINOR. GAL 4:1-7, 1CO 3:1-3; GAL 5:1,3:26, MAT 11:2-8,19

The Angelic Conflict. Part 54. A slave and an heir are exactly alike while the heir remains a child or a minor.

Wednesday, April 5, 2006

Point 12. The Existence of Free Will in the Human Race and how it Perpetuates the Angelic Conflict.

A slave and an heir are exactly alike while the heir remains a child or a minor.

While the heir is in his youth or immature, there is no difference between him and the slave.

As long as the heir is a minor, he has no advantage over the slave, though legally he owns the entire inheritance.

There is no difference between the heir and the slave because the heir has not recognized all the assets that belong to him.

Even though the heir has a fantastic portfolio of assets of great wealth, he does not act any different than a slave because he does not know, recognize, appreciate, or utilize those assets.

Before born again believers reach spiritual adulthood and understand the divine solutions, they act exactly like unbelievers.

There is no difference between a carnal believer in his walk or his conduct of life and an unbeliever when you are not cognizant or do not utilize the divine solutions which are at your disposal.

Being in union with Christ, we are joint-heirs with Christ, and are therefore adopted at the moment of salvation,GAL 3:26.

The lifestyle and the character of the heir begin to radically differ from the character and lifestyle of the slave.

2PE 3:18 grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

When you begin to learn about the divine solutions for your life (that takes a lot of training in the mind of Christ) and then utilize the divine solutions, that is when you as an heir begin to radically differ from those who are not heirs.

They do not have the divine solutions to operate quietly in, so they have to use a lot of chatter because they are no different from their unbeliever counter-parts.

The ministry of the pastor-teacher is to get the born again believer out of the experiential stage of slavery and into the experiential stage of heirship and sonship where there is liberty and spiritual freedom.

“God has four classes of intelligent creatures in His universe - angels, Gentiles, Jews, and Christians - and there is more difference to be observed between Christians and either Jews or Gentiles than between angels and Jews and Gentiles.”

“Should this statement seem extreme, it must be because the true and exalted character of the Christian is not comprehended. No angel is a son of God by actual generating birth from above, nor is any angel made to stand before God in the pleroma or the fullness of Christ, JOH 1:16, which fullness is the fullness of the Godhead bodily, COL 2:9-10.”

The born again believer’s recognition of his sonship and union with TLJC and his exploitation of the divine solutions from living the unique spiritual life are what experientially sets him apart from both the unregenerate man and the carnal Christian.

EPH 6:10-11 Be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of His might. Take up and put on the full armor of God, that you may be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.

As a born again believer, there is nothing that separates you from an unbeliever experientially until you take up the divine solutions by learning them, and put them on by utilizing them.

The angels are blown away at the fact that there is more similarity between the angels and the unbelievers than between the angels and the believer who lives the unique spiritual life of the Church-age.

The mystery doctrine of the Church-age is the means by which ordinary people can become invisible heroes and glorify God as a witness for the prosecution against Satan and all the fallen angels and have a tremendous impact which will be recognized in the future ages forever and ever and ever.

2CO 6:9 unknown yet well-known,

Point 11. How God is Glorified in the Angelic Conflict.
Point 12. The Existence of Free Will in the Human Race Perpetuates the Angelic Conflict.

Because of this, blinding you from the real reason why you are here, and taking you away from the pastor-teacher assigned by God to teach you the mystery doctrine of the Church-age, ACT 20:28, is the intent and objective of the deceptions from the kingdom of darkness.

As a true friend, he speaks very highly about John in this passage.

This is a metaphor for a person who is made to waver or sway or to vacillate under the pressure of difficult circumstances.

If those who went out to see John in the wilderness expected to see someone who buckled under pressure, that expectation was bound to be frustrated.

MAR 1:6 - John was clothed with camel’s hair and wore a leather belt around his waist.

The clergy of those days wore long robes, phylacteries, and tassels on their garments, MAR 12:38, LUK 20:46,MAT 23:5.

In the devil’s world and the angelic conflict, a believer will come into times of great perplexity and adversity and persecution, as Paul said.

PHI 1:29 For to you it has been granted for Christ’s sake, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake,

2TI 3:12 And indeed, all who desire to live [eusebeia] the unique spiritual life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.

Some of the most humble people on earth were like Moses and John the Baptist, who were very commanding, very authoritative, and very outspoken at times.

A lot of believers have problems with doctrine because doctrine always exposes the plastic pseudo stereo-type Christian who lacks individuality.

They generally concludes that the goal of the Christian life and spirituality is living moral, but it goes way beyond morality into spirituality.

Sweetness of personality and morality of life are his superficial concepts of what it means to be a Christian.

If the kingdom of darkness can get preconceptions into the minds of God’s people, especially concerning the one who is to teach them about God, then personality and lifestyle become the issue rather than the message.

Lewis Sperry Chafer - Volume 4, p. 223 - Warning against False Prophets.
“Beware of false prophets which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits” (MAT 7:15-20).

The warning to the children of God under grace is against false teachers who are to be discerned by their doctrine concerning Christ (2PE 2:1, 2JO 1:7-11): never by their lives; for outwardly, false teachers are said to be directly under the power of Satan who himself appears as an angel of light (2CO 11:13-15). The attractive personality of the false teacher affords great advantage as a background for the appeal he makes for his doctrine.”

God uses men of all kinds of personalities - Amos who was a farmer, Daniel, who was a scholar, Jeremiah who was very young when he was called into the ministry and tended to be emotional at times because of his patriotism, Isaiah, who was an ambassador for a king, Ezekiel who was a gruff or harsh character.

THE ANGELIC CONFLICT. PART 55. ANGELIC OBSERVATION AND OPPOSITION IN HUMAN HISTORY. LUK 15:1-10, 2CO 4:3-4; 2:11; 11:3, REV 2:8-13

The Angelic Conflict. Part 55. Angelic Observation and Opposition in Human History.

Friday, April 7, 2006

Point 13. The Angelic Observation and Opposition in Human History.

a. Elect angels rejoice over the salvation of one person, LUK 15:7,10.

In the dispensation of the Hypostatic Union, angels observed every part of the First Advent and incarnation of our Lord -
1TI 3:16 - He was, “Beheld by angels.”

In the dispensation of the Church-age, angels observe members of the Royal Family of God in their failure or success to execute and fulfill the PPOG, 1CO 4:9; EPH 3:10; 1TI 5:21; 1PE 1:12.

Spectacle - nominative neuter singular - theatron = a theater, a place for public shows, a play, a place for the performance of dramatic representations.

EPH 3:10 in order that the multi-faceted or many-sides of the wisdom of God might now be made known through the church to the rulers and the authorities in the heavenly places.

Angels even observe the believers in the Church-age receiving commands from headquarters, 1TI 5:21.

Long - epithumeo = to have a desire for something, to long for, to set the heart upon.

MAT 18:10 - angels also observe and protect children.
LUK 16:22 - angels also were present when Lazarus, a believer, died. He was escorted to paradise by the angels.
LUK 16:22 “Now it came about that the poor man died and he was carried away by the angels to Abraham’s bosom;”
1CO 11:10 - angels observe the attitude that the woman has toward her husband and the symbol of authority that it represents.

Satan has organized a tremendous demon army to hinder Church-age believers from fulfilling the PPOG.

Fallen angels are organized to resist and oppose positive believers, EPH 6:12-17; JOB 1:6; 2:1-3; 1PE 5:8.

1. To blind the minds of unbelievers so they will not accept Christ.
2. If they do believe in Christ, hinder their function and execution of the PPOG, distract them in every way possible, and keep them from making Bible doctrine their number one priority.

a. Satan and his angels are the enemy of unbelievers, LUK 8:12; 2CO 4:3-4; 2TH 2:7-10; COL 2:8.
LUK 8:12 “And those beside the road are those who have heard; then the devil comes and takes away the word from their heart, so that they may not believe and be saved.”

b. Satan and his angels are the enemy of the Church-age believer, 2CO 2:11; JAM 4:6-10; 1PE 5:6-9; 2CO 11:3; EPH 6:10-17.
JAM 4:7 Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

c. Satan and his angels are the enemy of the Church, REV 2:8-10,12-13.
EPH 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

d. Satan and his angels are the enemy of Bible doctrine, MAT 13:19, 39.
e. Satan and his angels are the enemy of Israel, REV 12:13-15.

f. Satan and his angels are the enemy of the dispensation of the hypostatic union, REV 12:4.
g. Satan and his angels are the enemy of nations, REV 12:9; REV 20:3,8.
h. Satan and his angels are the chief antagonists of the extension of the angelic conflict into human history, Heb 1-2.

Point 14. The Angelic Conflict In Human History Answers Basic Questions About Life.

A. Why the creation of man?
Mankind was created to resolve the prehistoric angelic conflict.

b. Why sin?
To resolve the angelic conflict all members of the human race must have the same free will as angels have.

In the original sin of man in the garden of Eden, there was the function of negative volition against a specific prohibition.

God said you could eat from any tree except one!
Satan said, “Has God said you shall not eat from any tree?”

God’s plan still went on and God turned the curse into a blessing, because at the cross all human sin was judged while human good was rejected, TIT 3:5.

TIT 3:5 He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,

This is why the efficacious saving work of Christ on the cross is the basis for the strategic victory of the angelic conflict, COL 2:14-15; HEB 1:4-14, Heb 2.

If any accusation was made, like how can a loving God cast His creatures in the lake of fire, picture this: that same loving God forsook His Son on the cross while He was bearing the sins of the whole world.

The cross broke the back of Satan.

At the cross that same character of God condemned His own perfect impeccable Son while bearing our sins.

Just as we use our volition to sin, so also we use our volition to choose for or against the plan of God.

Sin exists simply because of the fact that God gave His creatures free will, and they have chosen from that free will to violate certain divine standards.

c. Why chaos on planet earth?
1CO 14:33 for God is not a God of confusion but of peace,

The chaos is only terminated by the Second Advent of Christ and His Millennial reign.

Satan does not have the power or the ability to control all the inhabitants of the world nor the ability to produce perfect environment on the earth.

Christian activism is a movement that is blindly and ignorantly trying to help Satan clean up his world and make it a better place to live.

Social engineering means trying to force biblical principles on society.
Political engineering means trying to control the government with principles from the Bible.

Christians stick their nose into other people’s business.
Christians intrude into the privacy of other people.
Christians violate the constitutional rights of other people.
Christians destroy property, e.g., abortion clinics.

To outlaw a certain segment of society because they do not adhere to Christian principles is a disaster.

The devil sponsors Christian activism because that is his way of getting believers involved in the improvement of the devil’s world.

“Render unto Caesar” = establishment activity and being a good citizen of your nation.
“Render unto God” includes the execution of the plan of God.

Christian activism becomes tantamount to the Church-age believer being involved in the temporal solutions to the problems of life when spiritual solutions are available.

THE ANGELIC CONFLICT. PART 56. THE ANGELIC CONFLICT IN HUMAN HISTORY ANSWERS BASIC QUESTIONS ABOUT LIFE. MAT 6:23; PRO 1:23-31; PSA 119:71,75; 2CO 12:7-10; MAT 5:44-47

The Angelic Conflict. Part 56. The Angelic Conflict In Human History Answers Basic Questions About Life.

Sunday, April 9, 2006

Point 14. The Angelic Conflict In Human History Answers Basic Questions About Life.

a. Why man, why did God create man?
Mankind was created to resolve the prehistoric angelic conflict.
Consequently, mankind was created to glorify God as an inferior creature to angels.

b. Why sin, why did God allow sin?
To resolve the angelic conflict all members of the human race must have the same free will as angels have. This free will can choose for or against God, as did the angels in eternity past.

c. Why chaos on planet earth?
There will always be chaos and evil as long as Satan rules this world.

d. Why human suffering?
Because man is a sinner and because Satan is the ruler of this world, it is inevitable that we all come under the law of volitional responsibility, which explains most of the suffering in the world.

The most obvious reason why we suffer is because we have a free will and God allows us to make our own decisions and also allows the consequences of those decisions to prevail.

We suffer from both immoral and moral evil.

1) Under the law of volitional responsibility and divine discipline, suffering is designed to orient us to the reality of sin and failure, and the need for recovery.

2) Under undeserved suffering or suffering for blessing, the believer is challenged to use the problem solving devices, the faith-rest drill, virtue-love, spiritual self-esteem, and spiritual autonomy, in order to grow in grace, orient to the plan of God, advance to spiritual maturity, and glorify God in the angelic conflict.

a) Preventative suffering - added to spiritual self-esteem, the first stage of spiritual adulthood, to strengthen it to the point of spiritual autonomy or independence.

Preventative suffering = short-termed suffering from the sovereignty of God for the benefit of the believer.

When we go through adversity, if we would only consider it as part of “the work of God,” then we would submit to it knowing that it is for our own benefit.

Often the purpose of preventative suffering is to learn obedience, self-discipline, and therefore enforced and genuine humility.

This is a form of suffering designed to make the individual stronger within and increase his personal love for God.

This is designed to push you from spiritual self-esteem to spiritual autonomy, the next stage of spiritual growth.

In S.S.E., you have a certain amount of doctrine and doctrinal understanding that sets you apart from the majority, however there is a danger that we all have to deal with on a consistent basis - the danger to become arrogant.

God brings in some undeserved suffering which inevitably takes away your strength, your reputation or your so-called status, to prevent you from becoming proud and having people look up to you because of your accomplishments.

Given - aor-pass-ind - edothe = this was given for a blessing and benefit.

2CO 12:9 And He has said to me -
[perf-act-ind - eireken = Paul remembered something that the Lord had taught him.]

Everything necessary to fulfill the PPOG was provided in eternity past by way of assets in the Portfolio of Invisible Assets.
Then God provides doctrine and suffering in time.

THE ANGELIC CONFLICT. PART 57. OPERATION FOOTSTOOL – THE ULTIMATE TRIUMPH OF THE ANGELIC CONFLICT. PSA 110:1-7; MAT 22:41-46; MAR 12:35-37

The Angelic Conflict. Part 57. Operation footstool-the ultimate triumph of the angelic conflict.

Wednesday, April 12, 2006

Point 15. Operation Footstool - the Ultimate Triumph of the Angelic Conflict.

The first mention principle is that principle by which God indicates in the first mention of a subject the truth about that subject as it relates to other passages of scripture.

The first mention principle means that the first occurrence of a word, expression, or a verse is the key to its subsequent meaning and a guide to the truth connected with it.

The first time we meet Satan he is described in GEN 3:1 as being subtle and crafty, and therefore all through the word of God every time the serpent or the devil is mentioned it points to his subtlety and craftiness.

It is quoted four times in the New Testament under a rebuttal concept; i.e., to settle a Jewish controversy regarding Christ as the Messiah to Israel and the dispute about the hypostatic union.

MAT 22:41-46 - when questioned by the Pharisees about the Sonship of Jesus Christ, our Lord quotes this passage, saying how could David call his son “My Lord.”

MAR 12:35-37 is quoted by Jesus when He was in the temple answering a dispute with the scribes.

In LUK 20:41-44, PSA 110:1 is quoted by Jesus when He was questioned by the Sadducees, LUK 20:27.

ACT 2:24-36 - in Peter’s famous message on resurrection on the day of Pentecost he quoted PSA 110:1.

HEB 1:13 But to which of the angels has He ever said, “Sit at My right hand, Until I make Thine enemies A footstool for Thy feet”?

HEB 10:12-13 but He, having offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, sat down at the right hand of God, waiting from that time onward until His enemies be made a footstool for His feet.

The occasion for this prophecy is the death, burial, resurrection, ascension, and session of the humanity of Christ in the hypostatic union.

The resurrection of the humanity of Christ is the climax to the dispensation of the hypostatic union.

MAT 28:20 “I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

The humanity of Christ is limited to one spot.

The session of Christ was the occasion for receiving His third royal title based on the dispensation of the hypostatic union and the resultant strategic victory in the historical angelic conflict.

Operation footstool is the ultimate triumph of our Lord Jesus Christ when He comes back a second time and sets up His kingdom on earth.

A. The first phase is at the Second Advent of Christ, following the Tribulation period, the time of great demon activity.

When our Lord returns at the Second Advent, He will throw all fallen angels off the earth and incarcerate them and Satan for 1000 years.

ZEC 13:2 “And it will come about in that day,” declares the Lord of hosts, “that I will cut off the names of the idols [demons] from the land, and they will no longer be remembered; and I will also remove the prophets and the unclean spirit from the land.”

JER 10:11 “The gods that did not make the heavens and the earth shall perish from the earth and from under the heavens.”

The unbelievers who survived the Tribulation are collected into two groups for their judgment, the baptism of fire, MAT 3:11-12.
The two groups are Jews and Gentiles.

Jewish unbelievers of the Tribulation are removed from the earth and cast into torments, the compartment of Hades for all unbelievers since the beginning of time.

EZE 20:33-38, MAL 4:1 teach about this phase of judgment for the Jewish unbelievers of the Tribulational period.

Gentile unbelievers of the Tribulation are also removed from the earth and cast into the fire of torments, MAT 25:31-46.

The one who is left is the believer going into the Millennium which starts with believers only.
The one taken is the Jewish unbeliever put into torments.

1. The wheat and the tares, Mat 13.
The wheat represents believers going into the Millennium.
The tares represent the Jewish and Gentile unbelievers who are gathered into bundles and put into the fire.

2. The good and the bad fish, MAT 13:47-50.

3. The ten virgins, MAT 25:1-13.

At this time our Lord will rule from Jerusalem as His headquarters, Zec 14.

a. The judgment of prehistoric, rational, super-creatures - angels.
Satan and fallen angels are judged, removed from the earth, and incarcerated for 1000 years, REV 20:1-3.

b. The judgment of historical, rational creatures - unbelieving mankind.
The unbelievers who survived the Tribulation are collected into two groups for their judgment, the baptism of fire, MAT 3:11-12.

THE ANGELIC CONFLICT. PART 58. JESUS CHRIST MADE A PUBLIC DISPLAY OF THEM, HAVING CELEBRATED A TRIUMPHAL PROCESSION. PSA 110:1; ACT 2:24-36; REV 20:7-15; COL 2:13-15

The Angelic Conflict. Part 58. Jesus Christ made a public display of them, having celebrated a triumphal procession.

Thursday, April 13, 2006

Point 15. Operation Footstool - the Ultimate Triumph of the Angelic Conflict.

It is quoted four times in the New Testament under a rebuttal concept - to settle a Jewish controversy regarding Christ as the Messiah to Israel and the dispute about the hypostatic union.

In MAT 22:41-46, when questioned by the Pharisees about the Sonship of Jesus Christ, our Lord quotes this passage, saying how could David call his son “my Lord.”

It is quoted in HEB 1:13 dealing with the doctrine of the angelic conflict -
HEB 1:13 But to which of the angels has He ever said, “Sit at My right hand, Until I make Thine enemies A footstool for Thy feet”?

HEB 10:12-13 but He, having offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, sat down at the right hand of God, waiting from that time onward until His enemies be made a footstool for His feet.

The occasion for this prophecy is the death, burial, resurrection, ascension, and session of the humanity of Christ in the hypostatic union.

It is a triumph over fallen angels, including Satan, and is a very important part of the historical extension of the angelic conflict.

A. The first phase is at the Second Advent of Christ, following the Tribulation period, the time of great demon activity.

1. His Royal Family to be formed.
2. Then He owes Israel seven more years, the Tribulation period.
3. Then He hits the earth with the Second Advent, where operation footstool begins.

Fallen angels are imprisoned in the abyss for 1000 years, and unbelievers of the Tribulation are imprisoned in torments for 1000 years.

Operation footstool has two phases, one at each end of the Millennium.

B. The second phase takes place after the Gog revolution at the end of the Millennium, Satan’s last revolt at the end of human history.

JOH 3:18 “He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”

JOH 3:36 “He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”

1. The pastor must understand isagogics - the historical setting of a passage.
2. Categories - the systematic theology developed from combining Scripture with Scripture.
3. Exegesis - the grammatical and syntactical analysis of the passage from the original languages.

In this verse, according to the isagogics, an analogy is made between operation footstool and a Roman Triumphal Procession.

He made a public display - aor-act-ind - deigmatizo = to display or exhibit the captives or the demons He disarmed.

Having triumphed - aor-act-part - thriambeuo = to lead a triumphal procession or make some kind of a special exhibition. It also means to celebrate a triumph.

This is a reference to operation footstool which began the Triumphal Procession in heaven and will conclude with a Triumphal Procession on earth at the Second Advent of Jesus Christ.

A custom in the ancient world after winning a war was to bring the captives back, and it was called a Triumphal Procession or a march through the city of Rome.

a. Company grade officers were called centurions.
b. Field grade officers were called tribunes.
c. General officers were called praetor or imperium.

When an imperium was victorious, his army lined up and saluted him with a tremendous shout: “Ave imperator!”

The highest honor that could be given to an imperator was a Triumph (Triumphus).

On the day appointed for the Triumphal Procession, the senate declared a holiday and the entire population of Rome came out of their homes and stationed themselves along the streets.

The victorious imperator or general assembled his troops outside the gate and delivered a speech commending his army on their victory.

The Angelic Conflict. Part 59. "Sic transit gloria mundi".

Point 15. Operation Footstool - the Ultimate Triumph of the Angelic Conflict.

COL 2:15 Having disarmed the rulers [the demon archons or demon rulers] and the authorities [the demon commissioned officers], He [Jesus Christ at the Second Advent] made a public display of them, having celebrated a triumphal procession over them [Satan and all fallen angels] by means of it [the strategic victory of the cross; there is no word for Him here, it is “through it”].

In this verse, an analogy is made between operation footstool and a Roman Triumphal Procession.

The highest honor was the corona [crown in the Latin, equivalent to the Greek stephanos] = “crown.”

1PE 5:4 And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory.
REV 3:11 “I am coming quickly; hold fast what you have, in order that no one take your crown.”

At the end of his speech and having given out all of the decorations, he gave a command and the finance corps distributed to every Roman soldier a large sum of money for his part in the campaign.

At the gate of the city, the imperator was met by the Roman senators and magistrates of the city. They welcomed him in the name of the senate and people of Rome or SPQR. The idea was to make a display of these people or a public display of the captives.

Then came a long train of carriages, extending for miles, on which were displayed various pictures of the country that had been conquered.

Next came a flute-playing band, followed by the white bulls which were destined to be offered as sacrifices.
They were followed by the priests carrying their sacrificial knives. Next came the enemy’s arms, their captured weapons, followed by the leaders of the enemy country and army and members of their family.

Behind them came the lictors or the officers of the imperator marching in single file.

Then standing behind the imperator in the chariot was a slave.
Sic transit gloria mundi" = “So the glory of the world passes away.”
"Look after yourself; remember that you are only a man.”

Bringing up the rear was the entire body of infantry in marching order.

Just as the procession ascended the Capitoline hill, the highest of the seven hills of ancient Rome, the leaders of the conquered army were pulled out of ranks, taken to the Mamertime dungeon, and brutally slaughtered.

After this occurred a certain number of prisoners were slaughtered as a sacrifice to Jupiter, and the general himself would come to the temple of Jupiter.

Then a public banquet was held in honor of the imperator that lasted from six to eight hours.
During the course of the banquet, the imperator was given a Triumphalis Domas, which was a beautiful mansion, called the House of Triumph.

Easter Special. Truth that sets us free.

Sunday, April 16, 2006

Why is it that the death of someone who was so close to us has more of an impact upon our lives than the One who really should?

2CO 5:7 we should walk by faith, not by sight -

Truth - aletheia = truth or doctrine taught categorically.

1TI 2:3-4 This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, Who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

It is only as He brings us to a knowledge of the truth that He saves or delivers us completely.

The whole purpose of the Gospel and the object of salvation is to bring us to this “knowledge of God.”

Experiences may come in passing, but if I do not have truth, experiences and feelings though real can be false.

1. In the Old Testament, “truth” - Hebrew noun emeth = stability, certainty, trust, that which is faithful, stable, and secure.

Truth, if you allow it to, will motivate you to be stable, certain, trustworthy, faithful and secure.

Truth - aletheia = integrity of character, that which is faithful and certain, that which frees the mind from pretence, deceit, and falsehood.

2. Truth is also said to have a price upon it -
PRO 23:23 Buy truth, and do not sell it, Get wisdom and instruction and understanding.

3. Truth must be valued above money, riches, and any form of prosperity.

4. It is impossible to serve the Lord apart from truth being the motivator -
JOS 24:14 Now, therefore, respect the Lord and serve Him in sincerity and truth;

1SA 12:24 Only respect the Lord and serve Him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things He has done for you.

1KI 2:4 “If your sons are careful of their way, to walk before Me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, you shall not lack a man on the throne of Israel.”

5. It is truth that gives us guidance and direction to worship God properly.
JOH 4:24 “God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in [filling] spirit and truth [doctrine].”

6. Truth is something we must be taught, it does not come naturally -
PSA 25:5 “Lead me in Thy truth and teach me, for Thou art the God of my deliverance”

JOH 8:31-32 Jesus therefore was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you abide in My word, {then} you are truly disciples of Mine;” and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

ISA 38:19 - parents are to make truth known to their children.
MAT 22:16 - our Lord taught the way of God in truth.

The apostle Paul tells us that God’s will for all mankind is to “be saved and to come to the epignosis knowledge of the truth,” 1TI 2:4.

7. Truth protects us and keeps us from deception.
1CO 2:16 But we have the mind of Christ.
PHI 2:5 Have this mind in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus,

JOH 14:26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.

This is why the apostle Paul warns us that in the last days “truth” will be rejected and deception accepted, 2TH 2:7-12,
2TI 3:5-8, 2TI 4:1-4.

2TH 2:10-11 and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved. And for this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they might believe what is false,

8. Truth is that which God desires in our life -
PSA 51:6 Behold, Thou dost desire truth in the innermost being, And in the hidden part Thou wilt make me know wisdom.

JOH 12:48 “He who rejects Me, and does not receive My sayings, has one who judges him; the word I spoke is what will judge him at the last day.”
2CO 11:10 - the truth of Christ is in me,
