THE SECRET OF THE MYSTERY. PART 160. THE SECONDARY ASSETS ARE RELATED TO YOUR POSITIVE VOLITION TOWARD DOCTRINE

Robert McLaughlin Bible Ministries

The secret of the mystery. Part 160. The secondary assets are related to your positive volition toward doctrine.

Sunday, November 5, 2006

Point 6. The introduction to the four categories of invisible assets.
a. Primary assets.
b. Secondary assets.

1. Volitional assets related to your positive volition toward doctrine, keeping your priorities straight, so that you can reach the different stages of spiritual growth.

2. Production assets.
Christian service is never effective unless it is a result of your spiritual life; it is never the means of your spiritual life.

3. Suffering for blessing assets: providential preventative suffering, momentum testing, and evidence testing.

Providential preventative suffering is defined as short-termed suffering from the sovereignty of God for the benefit of the believer.

It is that suffering which prevents, restrains, or insulates sin and evil, while challenging spiritual self-esteem to suffer for blessing and profit.

God’s glory is manifested by God’s grace.

Exalting myself - pres-pass-subj - huperairomai = to become conceited, arrogant, to lift up one’s self above others.

Undeserved suffering is a gracious gift from God.
Suffering for blessing is always a gift from God.

Those who have everything given to them become lazy, selfish, and insensitive to the real values of life.

The very striving and hard work that we so constantly try to avoid is the major building block in the person we are today.

“Tested by fire” is used, because when you put gold in fire, the gold melts and the fire changes the nature of the gold.

Providential preventative suffering changes the nature of the believer.

This is actually a prayer that God would take away blessing.

A lot of believers pray for strength when they are faced with suffering.

Strength in suffering comes mechanically through doctrine resident in the soul and the application of that doctrine to the situation of suffering.

No believer should ever pray for the removal of any category of suffering for blessing.

Providential preventive suffering reminds the believer of his dependence on the predesigned plan of God and forces him to use divine assets under circumstances that human ability cannot resolve.

In this stage of spiritual growth, affliction comes to us, not to make us sorrowful but solid; not to make us sorry but wise. Trials, temptations, disappointments - all these are helps instead of hindrances, if one uses them rightly.

Every triumph over temptation represents a new supply of spiritual energy.

Thorns are associated with the curse of mankind and nature at the time of the Fall,
GEN 3:18; Rom 8. Thorns are also used in connection with man’s failure. Thorns are also used to designate divine punishment, NUM 33:55; JUD 2:3.

2CO 12:7 - Paul’s thorn in the flesh was a pain in the neck, something aggravating enough to bother him. God permitted a fallen angel of great ability to penetrate the wall of fire around Paul and to bother him.

The thorn is also a sign of Satan’s power.
Thorns are also used for negative volition to doctrine, PRO 22:4-5.

Thorns are used to describe distractions to positive volition toward Bible doctrine,
MAT 13:7,22.

MAT 13:7,22 - “thorns” refer to the man who “hears the Word, but the worries of this life (peer pressure) and the deceitfulness of riches choke out the Word.”

Thorns are used for cosmic involvement and negative volition toward the PPOG, HEB 6:8.

Jesus Christ wore a crown of thorns on the cross, which signified the fact that He was made a curse for us, MAT 27:29; MAR 15:17; JOH 19:2 cf GAL 3:13; 1PE 2:24.

In the Millennial reign of Christ, nature will be delivered from the curse of the Fall. This is expressed by the removal of thorns in ISA 55:13, EZE 28:24.

There is unfair treatment, hurt, pressure and on occasion we have suffering; that’s life.

PSA 116:15 Precious in the sight of the Lord Is the death of His godly ones.

“What God allows and what He sends He expects the believer to endure in divine power.”

He does not always take us out of the fire, nor does He always prevent us from experiencing the pressures and hurts that make up life.

DAN 3:17 “If it be {so,} our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the furnace of blazing fire; and He will deliver us out of your hand, O king.”

Regardless of what the attack is, even when we are simply reaping the results of the bad decisions we have made, God has provided the grace to deal with it - to win.

The believer’s unique way of escape is to BEAR it.
“Bear” - “Hupomeno” = being able to hold up courageously under fire.

Holding up courageously under fire requires that we be rooted in “Ho Logos” - the Word of God, Bible doctrine.

For the believer in Christ, every battle is fought, and therefore ultimately won or lost in the soul.

Embracing idolatry is to fix our faith on that which cannot help us.

HEB 13:5 Let your lifestyle be free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, “I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you,”

When we cannot see clearly it is because we lack light - sufficient inner strength from the Word of God.

When we are under pressure, under fire and indeed in the fire, that is where we will be perfected, matured, in the circumstance. You grow by being tested, failing, rebounding and going forward.

Repetition followed by repetition, so it is with spiritual skills.

No one is born with these skills; they are acquired skills as God the Holy Spirit matures us,
GAL 5:22-23.

Thorns can represent long-term circumstances. There is serious illness, disease, ongoing unfair treatment, suffering, the enemy’s harassment, being maligned and slandered on an ongoing basis, and carrying the deep wounds of death - when our young children and loved ones have been taken out of time by the determination of God.

Now we can bear deep hurts yet not be in bondage to them.

The common denominator of the tests, trials, pressures, offenses, wounds and hurts is that God has, at the very least, allowed them in our lives.

Thorns also protect the fruit on a vine - they ensure that water is retained in those vines.

Thorn bushes were used to protect the sheepfold where the sheep and the shepherd slept.

God allows the thorns for our good and His glory.
A thorn now can mean prevention for a later and greater confrontation with pressure.

1. Believers in Christ, in carnality, ARE thorns.
2. Christians who reject the pastor-teacher.
3. Unprepared ministers.
4. Ministers living corrupted lives, going through the motions of godliness.

5. Believers who fix their faith on activism, social programming in the place of Bible doctrine.
6. Christians who can go to a four hour concert, jumping up and down praising the Lord because they believe that they are caught up in the Spirit, but yet they are not motivated to take in the Word of God for more than 20 minutes.

7. The absence of grace, mercy, compassion, giving, and integrity by many Christians.
8. The believer who is always complaining; never has a good word about anyone or anything; the miserable Christian.

THE SECRET OF THE MYSTERY, PART 161. THE PORTFOLIO OF INVISIBLE ASSETS: PATIENT ENDURANCE IN UNDESERVED SUFFERING

Robert McLaughlin Bible Ministries

The Secret of the Mystery. Part 161.

Wednesday, November 15, 2006

Point 6. The introduction to the four categories of invisible assets.

The suffering for blessing assets: providential preventative suffering, momentum testing, and evidence testing.

2CO 12:10 - Paul reveals how spiritual strength comes from putting muscle on the first stage of spiritual growth, spiritual self-esteem.

1. Weaknesses.
2. People testing.
3. The mental attitude test which will help you not to worry.
4. The persecution or mistreatment test.
5. The prerequisite for passing disaster testing.

Proof of genuine discipleship is patient endurance in times of undeserved suffering.

When God’s power is at work within us, we have the invisible assets working to supply us with our escrow blessings.

Momentum testing is designed for two reasons:
To provide the believer with the opportunity to apply doctrine he has learned at SSE and afterwards passing providential preventative suffering.

Momentum testing is given to accelerate the believer’s growth.

To accelerate the believer’s momentum.
No believer attains maturity apart from momentum testing.

Spiritual growth is accelerated from the application of Bible doctrine to the categories of testing.

All suffering is divided into two categories: Suffering for testing and blessing, and suffering for discipline and punishment.

Some of the testing in the PPOG is suffering, and some of it is prosperity.

Whether adversity or prosperity, the PPOG is for your good.

1. The old sin nature test.
2. Cosmic #1 test.
3. Cosmic #2 test.
4. Disaster testing.
5. People testing.
6. System testing.
7. Thought testing.
8. Prosperity testing.

Man with his own volition invented the old sin nature. Adam’s old sin nature is the basis for perpetuating the old sin nature because he was not deceived, but knew what he was doing when he sinned.

Adam’s original sin is imputed to mankind at birth.
At the same time God imputes human life to the soul.

Man’s twenty-three contaminated chromosomes which fertilize the female ovum, which is uncontaminated by the old sin nature, pass on the old sin nature to each member of the human race.

The exception is Christ, who received the twenty-three male chromosomes from the Holy Spirit, so that He was born without a sin nature, and no original sin could be imputed to Him.

The old sin nature is the inside source of temptation.

No one ever sins apart from human consent.
Volition is your authority in your soul.

If the volition says yes to the temptation, then the old sin nature controls the soul rather than the Holy Spirit.

Neither ignorance nor insanity is an excuse for either sin or crime.

1) The old sin nature controls the soul.
2) The believer enters the cosmic system.
The believer is either spiritual, living inside the PPOG, or carnal, living inside the cosmic system.

Most temptations come from within, from the old sin nature, but some come from without, from someone else’s old sin nature.

If the believer is at spiritual autonomy and occupied with Christ there are two applications of Bible doctrine in this test: resistance of temptation and recovery from sinfulness.

If the believer does sin, and he does even in spiritual autonomy, occupation with Christ causes an immediate recovery from the sinfulness and back into fellowship with the Lord.

Occupation with Christ immediately delivers the believer from guilt, condemnation, fear, worry, anxiety, shame, punishment, phobia, distress, tension, blame, or denunciation.

2. Cosmic #1 test.

1) Will the believer submit to the ministry of the Holy Spirit or will the believer grieve the Holy Spirit?
2) The cosmic one test emphasizes arrogance; self in contrast to God -Target: self.
3) The cosmic one test emphasizes Satan’s attitude at the time of his fall.

The cosmic one test includes a test to see if you will get involved with motivational evil, mental attitude sins, arrogance, pride, jealousy, bitterness, hatred, anger, guilt, revenge, vindictiveness, implacability, self-pity, operation over-think.

3. Cosmic #2 test.
This is Satan’s interlocking system of antagonism toward the Christian way of life and toward our Lord.

The direct attack of cosmic two is to cause believers to become antagonistic to the Word of God, and consequently, toward the plan of God.

The cosmic system is the trap for the enslavement of the human race to Satan; it is a factory for the manufacture of losers.

The test of cosmic 2 is to discredit doctrine, attack doctrine, or cause doctrine to become lightly esteemed.

4. Disaster testing.
(1) Personal disaster testing is designed as suffering for blessing for acceleration of momentum.
(2) Historical disaster, collective disaster, or national disaster testing is related to the bad decisions of others in which you are involved by association.

1. Pain, e.g., physical or mental pain and anguish.
2. Crime, where you are the victim.
3. Persecution (not paranoia).

4. Privation = hunger, thirst, exposure, fatigue.
5. Loss of loved ones, property, success, money, etc.
6. Disease and handicaps.

1) Violence, crime, terrorism, dope, murder.
2) Warfare.
3) Weather includes heat, cold, storms, blizzards, hurricanes, tornadoes.
4) Cycles of discipline.
5. People testing.

THE SECRET OF THE MYSTERY, PART 162. HOW TO HANDLE PEOPLE TESTING WITH YOUR PORTFOLIO OF INVISIBLE ASSETS

Robert McLaughlin Bible Ministries

The secret of the mystery. Part 162. How to handle people testing with your portfolio of invisible assets.

Thursday, November 16, 2006

1. The old sin nature test.
2. Cosmic #1 test.
3. Cosmic #2 test.
4. Disaster testing.
5. People testing.
6. System testing.
7. Thought testing.
8. Prosperity testing.

5. People testing.
(1) In personal love or admiration, the object of your love often controls your life or provides for you unhappiness, unless you have attained spiritual self-esteem, spiritual autonomy, or spiritual maturity.

(2) In personal hatred or animosity, the object of your antagonism or irritation often has control of your life or happiness, unless you have advanced to spiritual adulthood.

1CO 15:33 Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good morals.”

Under the PPOG, God designed His plan so that your happiness will always reside in you, and you do not depend on people or things for your happiness.

You are supposed to have personal control of your life, a personal sense of destiny, self-confidence from metabolized doctrine, and therefore, poise and command of self.

You bring your happiness to others, but do not lean on others or circumstances for your happiness.

Without impersonal love from spiritual autonomy, you become a slave to people.

When or if you fall in love, look how you act, how you change your modus operandi, how you begin to think in different terms relating everything you do to that person.

When you make a friend or fall in love, when you become jealous, possessive, when you hate anyone who has it over you, you have immediately become a slave.

The solution to people testing is found in the combination of personal love for God and impersonal love for all mankind.

Spiritual autonomy is the prerequisite for solving all problems of human relationships, i.e. people testing, also accompanied by system and thought testing.

Virtue-love as a problem-solving device belongs primarily to the spiritual adult.

At the same time, you have no control over your life, canceling all the characteristics of spiritual self-esteem and spiritual autonomy.

When someone else has control of your life through hatred or love, you enter into the law of volitional responsibility with its self-induced misery.

Virtue-love as a problem-solving device is the secret of your relationship with God, mankind, and in personal love.

Personal love is only a virtue when directed toward God. Impersonal love is only a virtue when directed toward all mankind.

Through impersonal love, the believer has control of his own life and he maintains control of his own happiness.

Once you attain spiritual adulthood, and you begin to function under the three categories of suffering for blessing, God becomes the source of your happiness, not people.

Whether it is love or hatred, attraction or animosity, romance or disenchantment, friendship or disillusion, these can distract you from the fulfillment of the PPOG and the glorification of our Lord Jesus Christ; unless you have passed momentum testing.

As suffering for blessing, it is the only way to bring tranquility into your life to make your relationships wonderful and worthwhile.

The reaction factor in personality conflict becomes a source of great irritation and misery to most believers today.

When you react to people in some form of antagonism, they immediately have control over your life, so that you resort to either mental or verbal hostility or even violence.

Response results in cosmic evangelism, whereas reaction leads to motivational and functional evil.

When you can utilize impersonal love as a problem-solving device in these three stages, you have made the greatest stride in your spiritual life.

Love is not a gift, but an entire way of life without which all actions must be judged utterly worthless.

It is love itself that is kind, or does not boast, rather than the person who displays love.

Lovelessness breeds thousands of variations on inferiority complexes and superiority complexes.

Patient - makrothumei = usually suggests not merely willingness to wait a long time, or endurance of suffering without giving way, but endurance of injuries without retaliation.

PRO 19:11 A man’s discretion makes him slow to anger, And it is his glory to overlook a transgression.

PRO 19:11 “A man’s wisdom gives him patience; it is his glory to overlook an offense.”

“He' agape makrothumei” = “the love is patient”

Makrothumei or patience = poise and self-control where you are able to handle suffering, hostility, provocation, and unjust treatment.

Patience is stability of mentality under unjust treatment.

Patience also gives you the ability to make good decisions under provocation and unjust treatment.

Patience also means that you have personal control of your life so you do not surrender your happiness because of someone who has been antagonistic toward you.

Love is kind = not merely patient or long-suffering in the face of injury, but quick to pay back kindness what it received in hurt.

Kind - chresteuomai = to show oneself useful, to perform acts of kindness, to have integrity, to have moral, honest, and artistic values.

Pres-mid-ind = impersonal unconditional love causes an individual to perform gracious acts.

Jealous - pres-act-ind - zeloo = to be envious, jealous, to strive, to be resentful and spiteful.

Brag - perpereuetai = to boast, to brag; it also means one who is talkative, an exaggerator.

In Classical Greek this word was used for those constantly asserting themselves and having an obsession with criticizing and wounding others with aggressive words.

Phusioo = to be inflated, puffed up, conceited, to put on airs or to pretend.

You can spot a gentlemen not by the way he addresses his king but by the way he addresses servants.

Aschemonei = to behave indecently, disgracefully, to act improperly or unfairly.

In the Old Testament, in the Septuagint, it is used in DEU 25:3 to disgrace others publicly, or to publicly humiliate.

Love not only does not seek that which does not belong to it; it is prepared to give up for the sake of others even what it is entitled to.

THE SECRET OF THE MYSTERY, PART 163. HOW TO HANDLE PEOPLE TESTING WITH YOUR PORTFOLIO OF INVISIBLE ASSETS, PART 2

Robert McLaughlin Bible Ministries

The secret of the mystery, part 163. How to handle people testing with your portfolio of invisible assets, part 2.

Friday, November 17, 2006

1. The old sin nature test.
2. Cosmic #1 test.
3. Cosmic #2 test.
4. Disaster testing.
5. People testing.
6. System testing.
7. Thought testing.
8. Prosperity testing.

1) In personal love or admiration, the object of your love often controls your life or provides for you unhappiness, unless you have attained spiritual self-esteem, spiritual autonomy, or spiritual maturity.

2) In personal hatred or animosity, the object of your antagonism or irritation often has control of your life or happiness, unless you have advanced to spiritual adulthood.

In these verses, love is described as something that is not so much theoretical as it is practical.

It is not touchy, with a temper barely hidden beneath the surface of a respectable facade, just waiting for an offense, real or imagined, in which to take resentment.

Provoked - paroxuno = to arouse and provoke to wrath, to irritate, to make angry.

Anger is not only a sin but it is emotion out of control.

Its stance in the presence of genuine evil precludes such accounting; for at a very deep level, love cannot bear to be critical, faultfinding, or hypocritical.

This type of love will cause you to give up resentment, excuse a guilty party, release others from payment, forget an offense, never bringing it up again, not even to discuss it.

Like the fake self-righteousness that affects moral indignation in the face of lasciviousness but secretly enjoys it when others are not looking.

Love will join with others in rejoicing over the truth.

Bears all things - stegei = to cover with silence, to put a roof over something or someone; it keeps all things confidential.

If things that you “hear” and things that you “see” shock you, don’t blame the things that you hear or the things that you see - blame yourself.

“Believes all things” - not that it is gullible, but it prefers to be generous in its openmindedness and acceptance rather than suspicious or cynical.

LUK 7:47 “For this reason I say to you, her sins, which are many, have been forgiven, for she loved much; but he who is forgiven little, loves little.”

As believers, we must have an unlimited attitude of forgiveness, not an “I’ll give you one more chance” attitude, but an unlimited attitude.

Some of life’s most significant lessons are learned in a schoolroom of pain and suffering.

For the believer in training, pain is a continued teacher.

True servants of God are givers, forgivers, and forgetters.

His question is a simple one: what are the limits to forgiveness?

Throughout life, you will have an infinite number of occasions to apply forgiveness.

Since it’s an infinite number of times, you need to have an infinite capacity to forgive.

Because to forgive someone up to 7 times means that you must keep count.

Aphiemi = to completely cancel, to send something away without even discussing it, never bringing it up again.

What Peter did in suggesting a limit to our forgiveness was to imply the notion that a man in forgiving gave up a right which he might under certain circumstances exercise.

When God calls on a member of his kingdom to forgive, He is not calling on him to renounce or give up a right, but in reality he has no right in the matter at all.

Fails -pres-act-ind - ekpipto = it never quits; it never becomes inefficient; it never loses.

Virtue-love endures or perseveres.

When the evidence is adverse, love hopes for the best.

When hopes are repeatedly disappointed, virtue-love still courageously waits.

The presence of such love is an infallible test of the Spirit’s presence.

JOH 13:35 “By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Since happiness is the monopoly of God and His plan, you cannot depend upon people or circumstances for your happiness.

If you surrender your happiness to someone else, you will blame that person for everything that goes wrong in your life.

When you blame them for your unhappiness, which is produced by your own volition, you have intensified the suffering in your life under the law of volitional responsibility.

As the believer grows spiritually in the PPOG, he becomes aware of this pattern, rebounds quickly, and any suffering left over he can scoop up for blessing, and he moves on!

Believers in spiritual childhood do not have personal love for God or impersonal love for all mankind.

With the attainment of spiritual autonomy through spiritual self-esteem plus providential preventative suffering, you begin to peak out in the use of virtue-love as a problem-solving device.

The influence of those whom you love can be detrimental and distracting unless you advance to spiritual self-esteem and spiritual autonomy.

You make your own decisions in your choice of friends and loved ones. But thereafter, they begin to make all the decisions for you unless you have the function of impersonal love.

1CO 15:33 “Be not deceived, evil companions corrupt good morals” - We create evil companions, by being intimate with those who distract us from Bible doctrine, by allowing them to control our life and happiness.

2TH 3:14 “If anyone does not obey our doctrine through this letter, take special note of that person and do not associate with them.”

JER 17:5-8 “Cursed is the man who puts his trust in mankind; and makes flesh his strength; and whose heart turns away from the Lord.”

PRO 9:7-12 - in spiritual self-esteem you mind your own business and yet are friendly and intimate with others.

PRO 10:12 - “Virtue-love covers all wrongs”

No one really becomes spiritually mature until his relationships are all handled by impersonal love from spiritual autonomy.

Impersonal love is the sum total of the believer’s honor, integrity, and objectivity first acquired in attainment of spiritual self-esteem, but becomes strong in spiritual autonomy.

Cosmic evangelistic appeal is generally based on some form of arrogance, which may be disguised in the form of flattery, intellectuality, affection, or even passion.

The moral cosmic evangelist is affectionate without being passionate, and with affection lures you into the cosmic system.

The immoral cosmic believer is passionate without being affectionate, and with passion lures you into the cosmic system.

6. System Testing. A system is an organization composed of people under the command of other people functioning under a policy which is designed to fulfill a specific objective.

Because no one is perfect and because everyone has an old sin nature, personality, policy, and purpose conflicts will inevitably exist.

(1) The authority may give unfair and unjust treatment, as from management, the boss, supervisor, senior officer, coach, professor, government bureaucrat, husband, parents, etc.

(2) The policy may be unreasonable, or may conflict with normal living or with your own personal norms and standards, or it may be a stupid though still enforceable policy.

(3) The objectives may be unreasonable or even impossible because of lack of ability in the personnel trying to fulfill them.

The motivation for the believer in spiritual autonomy is always his personal love for God, occupation with Christ.

A person who uses spiritual autonomy and occupation with Christ as a problem-solving device, with the attitude of doing his job as unto the Lord, will do a good job regardless of any unfair treatment or injustice in the system.

The first leadership principle in life: Leadership can never afford bitterness.

One of the ways to flunk system testing is to butter up the boss, so that you receive special treatment.

“Virtue of right lobe” = motivational virtue of personal love for God and functional virtue of impersonal love for all mankind.

“Respecting the Lord” is how you will pass system testing.

You must understand how the law of volitional responsibility not only applies to you, but to others, so that you do not interfere in others’ lives.

When you are the victim of system testing, you must use spiritual autonomy and occupation with Christ to meet and pass the test.

How you handle unfair situations determines whether you are ever going to get to maturity or not.

Flunking system testing often results in you becoming a part of motivational evil and mental attitude sins.

As soon as you react and go over your boss’ head, you lose your case in the supreme court of heaven.

Example: Joseph did a good job until he reacted and told the Egyptian aristocrat to remember him when he got out of prison.

There is no such thing as an injustice that will not be rectified for your benefit provided you do not react.

1. Spiritual autonomy has the power to accept authority in a system without becoming arrogant, bitter, disturbed, or upset.

2. Spiritual autonomy has the power to handle unjust or unfair treatment or any authority problems.

3. Spiritual autonomy carries out the policy of management without becoming discouraged, conspiratorial, or antagonistic.

4. Spiritual autonomy fulfills the objectives of the organization, no matter how incompetent, insufficient, or unreasonable others in the organization may be.

5. Spiritual autonomy and occupation with Christ always does the best possible job regardless of unfair treatment, unjust criticism, or even any form of job discrimination.

When the believer in spiritual autonomy and occupation with Christ is the victim of unfair leadership or unjust management or a rotten system, he deals with all the personality conflicts from his impersonal love.

Spiritual self-esteem plus providential preventative suffering equals spiritual autonomy, the second stage of spiritual adulthood.

Your persistence in positive volition is tested again by momentum testing.

Spiritual autonomy can pass all four of the momentum tests: people, system, thought, and disaster testing.

In spiritual maturity, your perseverance in positive volition toward doctrine is tested by evidence testing, the highest honor God can bestow on a believer in this life.

Spiritual maturity plus evidence testing results in maximum glorification of God in the historical extension of the angelic conflict.

This first and most important of secondary assets is “how” your volition functions - not occasionally, but daily.

Because you have made positive volitional decisions and God knew that you would, then there are certain benefits which God has ordained to take place in your life.

PRO 2:10-13 - good decisions always result from metabolized doctrine, called chakmah or wisdom (Greek - epignosis).

Because you have made positive volitional decisions, and God knew that you would, then there are certain benefits which God has ordained to take place in your life.

They are "volitional assets" related to your positive volition toward doctrine and your volition related to your priorities in life.

Because you have made positive volitional decisions and God knew that you would, then there are certain benefits which God has ordained to take place in your life.

PRO 2:10-13 - good decisions always result from metabolized doctrine, called chokmah or wisdom (Greek - epignosis).

Because you have made positive volitional decisions, and God knew that you would, then there are certain benefits which God has ordained to take place in your life.

They are “volitional assets” related to your positive volition toward doctrine and your volition related to your priorities in life.

7. Thought testing.
Thought testing occurs at all stages of Christian experience.

(1) Pertinent metabolized doctrine to meet thought testing at a given stage.

(2) The filling of the Spirit at the time of thought testing to make the correct application of metabolized doctrine.

(3) The ability not to be distracted by false issues or to be misled by wrong priorities.

Mental attitude in the Christian life is the function of your thinking and the pressure of thought conflict in your soul.

Thought has such a powerful effect on the believer’s success or failure in the Christian life that thinking must be considered a major momentum test.

Human viewpoint will conflict with divine viewpoint.

False concepts will challenge Bible doctrine.

Arrogance will intrude upon humility.

Expedients of all kinds will compete with the predesigned plan of God.

Fear will paralyze reason.

Dilemmas, confusions, and unanswered questions motivate the positive believer to apply the resources of Bible doctrine he has learned.

ISA 3:9 The expression of their faces bears witness against them.

If his thought is consistent with Bible doctrine, he advances in the predesigned plan of God.

If his thought is contrary to doctrine, he is distracted from his true destiny in life.

Rational thinking is the essential human activity that distinguishes man from animals.

The mentality of the soul is the battlefield of the angelic conflict.

From evil thinking comes evil motivation; from evil motivation, evil actions.

MAT 9:4 And Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, “Why are you thinking evil in your hearts?”

Salvation itself is appropriated by a right thought, by non-meritorious positive volition toward the Gospel of Jesus Christ -
MAT 22:42a “What do you think about the Christ?”

Arrogance can inflate or deflate man’s opinion of himself.

Both self-promotion and self-depreciating distort and deny reality, which is the realm in which God’s plan is effective.

GAL 6:3 For if anyone thinks he is something [arrogance] when he is nothing, he deceives himself.

1CO 10:12 Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.

“The renovation of [one’s] thought” is accomplished over a period of time by giving Bible doctrine number one priority, by organizing one’s life around the daily perception of the Word of God.

“The good, the well-pleasing, and the complete” is the predesigned plan of God being executed.

PHI 2:5 Keep on having this mental attitude in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.

Humility, which is obedience to divine authority and orientation to God’s grace, should be the attitude of every member of the royal family of God.

1. Rationalization is self-justification while blaming others for one’s own failures and sufferings.

2. Anger attacks a problem with temper and tantrums, which manifest total irresponsibility.

Unjustified anger ignores the problem, diverting attention instead to self, and attempting to cower people and control them with threats or violence.

Power lust and approbation lust are often expressed through anger, which arises from feelings of inferiority that are temporarily relieved by revenge or by injuring those who challenge one’s inflated opinion of self.

3. Defense mechanisms attempt to insulate the believer’s mind from overpowering pressures.

4. Denial ignores the problem in the blind hope that it will go away.

5. Sublimation reacts to frustration by finding a new outlet for uncontrolled emotions.

Although divine viewpoint thinking searches out and destroys false human viewpoint, the destruction of incorrect ideas and attitudes is not the ultimate victory in thought testing.

Victory lies in possessing the true perspective, thinking with true ideas, understanding and applying true doctrines.

JOH 8:31-32 Jesus therefore was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you abide in My word [Bible doctrine], then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

JOH 4:24 God is a Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in Spirit [filling of the Holy Spirit] and in truth [knowing and thinking Bible doctrine].

Even in the Eucharist the believer concentrates on Christ, remembering the doctrines that reveal His person and saving work.

Music praises God in doctrinal lyrics.

Giving is a mental attitude, and the privilege of contributing to the Lord’s service is extended to believers who understand God’s grace, 2CO 9:7-8.

This inner beauty, which Paul describes as “sanity of mind” or as “stability of mind,” characterizes the believer in spiritual adulthood, 1TI 2:9-15.

Mental attitude in the Christian life is the function of your thinking and the pressure of thought conflict in your soul.

As a person, your ability to cope with life, your happiness in life, and your attractiveness in life is based upon what you think.

PSA 26:2 Examine me, O Lord, and try me; Test my mind and my heart.

JER 17:10 “I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give to each man according to his ways, According to the results of his deeds.”

JER 20:12 Yet, O Lord of hosts, Thou who dost test the righteous, Who seest the mind and the heart;

PSA 23:3 “He restores my soul;”

PSA 19:7 The doctrine of the Lord is perfect, restoring the soul; The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.

The life of every believer is determined experientially by two principles: what he thinks and what he decides.

Divine viewpoint mental attitude is part of the greatest delegation of divine power in human history.

People evaluate others based upon how they look, what kind of impression they make, personality, superficial evaluations, whatever one’s concept of success may be, admiration, approbation, and actually these things are not what is important.

Believers in TLJC have failed in the dynamic of the divine viewpoint of life.

MIC 4:12 They do not know the thoughts of the Lord, And they do not understand His purpose;

ROM 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind,

Satan has so many distractions today to deaden thinking so that born again believers become mindless imbeciles, struggling through life looking for some emotional experience to pull them through.

Above all people, the born again believer should be an alert thinking person, not a mindless, emotional, irrational, yapping, rolling, screaming imbecile.

LUK 12:37 “Blessed are those slaves whom the master shall find on the alert when he comes;”

ACT 20:31 Therefore be on the alert, remembering that night and day for a period of three years I did not cease to admonish each one with tears.

1CO 16:13 Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.

COL 4:2 Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving;

**101** 1TH 5:6 so then let us not sleep as others do, but let us be alert and sober.

**101** **102** **101** 1PE 5:8 Be of sound mind, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls about like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

**101** **102** **103** **102** The average believer does not even know anything about God’s superior power or how God has delegated it to us through thought.

**102** **103** **104** **103** The delegation of superior power comes in the form of thinking metabolized doctrine circulating in the right lobe of the heart, the kardia.

**103** **104** **105** **104** People can hide their thoughts and become masterful at the practice of hypocrisy.

**105** **106** **107** **106** 1CO 2:16 For who has known the thinking of the Lord that he should instruct Him, but we have the mind of Christ [mystery doctrine of the Church Age].

1. The old sin nature test
2. Cosmic #1 test.
3. Cosmic #2 test.
4. Disaster testing.
5. People testing.
6. System testing.
7. Thought testing.
8. Prosperity testing.

Thought testing: Thought testing occurs at all stages of Christian experience, but its direct application as a part of suffering for blessing in momentum testing.

Anagke is translated “distresses” and it means necessities, distresses, calamities and pressures.

In spiritual autonomy, momentum testing includes thought testing.
In spiritual maturity, evidence testing provides definite thought testing.

(1) Pertinent metabolized doctrine to meet thought testing at a given stage.
(2) The filling of the Spirit at the time of thought testing to make the correct application of metabolized doctrine.
(3) This means the ability NOT to be distracted by false issues or to be misled by wrong priorities.

Mental attitude in the Christian life is the function of your thinking and the pressure of thought conflict in your soul.

Thought has such a powerful effect on the believer’s success or failure in the Christian life that thinking must be considered a major momentum test.

Thought testing may ALSO exist when circumstances are overtly prosperous and tranquil.

ISA 3:9 “The expression of their faces bears witness against them.”

If his thought is consistent with Bible doctrine, he advances in the Predesigned Plan of God.
If his thought is contrary to doctrine, he is distracted from his true destiny in life.

Like the angels, man was created with a soul capable of rational thought. MAT 9:4 And Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, “Why are you thinking evil in your hearts?”

Salvation itself is appropriated by a right thought, by non-meritorious positive volition toward the Gospel of Jesus Christ, MAT 22:42a “What do you think about the Christ?”

Mankind’s great enemy is a thought called arrogance.
Arrogance can inflate or deflate man’s opinion of himself.

God’s grace deals with us as we are, but an egocentric believer who does not live in objective reality will never use God’s grace provisions to advance in the Predesigned Plan.

GAL 6:3 “For if anyone thinks he is something [arrogance] when he is nothing, he deceives himself.”

Arrogance is illusion, unreality, and when perpetuated, arrogance becomes insanity.

1CO 10:12 “Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.”

“The renovation of [one’s] thought” is accomplished over a period of time by giving Bible doctrine number one priority, by organizing one’s life around the daily perception of the Word of God. “The good, the well-pleasing, and the complete” is the Predesigned Plan of God being executed.

2CO 9:9 It is as the Scriptures say: “The godly man gives generously to the poor. His good deeds will be an honor to him forever.” (TLB).

By far the most important form of worship is concentrating on the teaching of God’s Word (PSA 138:2).

The Secret of the Mystery.Part 166. How to handle the unseen with our portfolio of invisible assets.

Mental attitude is the one factor that can make the difference between damaging your relationship with God and deepening it.

Each experience through which we pass is to operate ultimately for our good.

Ability is what you are capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Mental attitude determines how well you do it.

It is our mental attitude at the beginning of a difficult task which, more than anything else, will affect its successful outcome.

The greatest discovery of this generation is that human beings can alter their lives by altering their mental attitudes of mind.

We are injured and hurt emotionally, not so much by other people or what they say and don’t say, but by our own mental attitude and our own response.

Your life comes to be what you think, not what you feel.

You should be exposing yourself to Bible doctrine daily so that your thinking comes to divine viewpoint, and so that your battles in the soul are won.

ROM 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind,

Satan has so many distractions today to deaden thinking so that born again believers become mindless imbeciles, struggling through life looking for some emotional experience to pull them through.

God has delegated to every Church-age believer all of the power to handle any problems or difficulties in this life.

LUK 12:37 “Blessed are those slaves whom the master shall find on the alert when he comes;”

Spiritually adult believers can be in danger when they have a mental attitude test because it may knock them out of living the spiritual life if they are not humble enough to receive correction and recognize it.

You will know when you have failed the mental attitude test especially when you enter into the sins of the tongue which inevitably will also lead to overt sins.

Your alertness comes from objective, not subjective, thinking.

GAL 6:3 For if anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself.

Your living is determined not so much by what life brings to you as by the mental attitude you bring to life; not so much by what happens to you as by the way your mind looks at what happens.

Any fact facing us is not as important as our mental attitude toward it, for that determines our success or failure.

The single most significant decision I can make on a day-to-day basis is my choice of mental attitude.

ACT 20:31 Therefore be on the alert, remembering that night and day for a period of three years I did not cease to admonish each one with tears.

1CO 16:13 Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.

Mental attitude keeps me going or cripples my progress.

The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our mental attitude.

I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it.

It is easy to let life deteriorate into making a living instead of making a life.

COL 4:2 Devote yourselves to prayer, KEEPING ALERT in it with an attitude of thanksgiving;

1TH 5:6 so then let us not sleep as others do, but LET US BE ALERT AND SOBER.

1PE 5:8 Be of sound mind, BE ON THE ALERT. Your adversary, the devil, prowls about like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

EPH 6:11 Pick up and put on the full armor from God, that you may be able to hold your ground against the schemes or the strategies of the devil.

Schemes - verse 11 - “methodeia”

That strategy is not always a frontal assault, direct and easy to recognize; most often it is subtle, infiltrating another realm entirely.

Here it means “thought” or “mind.”

“We are not ignorant of the fact that Satan has his sights set on our minds. His strategy, then, is to get to our minds to lull us into
mediocrity - to dull the edges of our thinking - to cloud our reasoning.”

The average believer does not even know anything about God’s superior power or how God has delegated it to us through thought.

THE SECRET OF THE MYSTERY, PART 167. THE VALUE OF YOUR MENTAL ATTITUDE IN YOUR PORTFOLIO OF INVISIBLE ASSETS. EPH 1:18-19; JOH 4:24; PRO 23:6-8; 27:19, 24:10; MAT 12:34-37

The secret of the mystery. Part 167. The value of your mental attitude in your portfolio of invisible assets.

Thursday, November 30, 2006

The average believer does not even know anything about God’s superior power or how God has delegated it to us through thought.

This delegation of divine power depends on perception, metabolization, and application of Bible doctrine.

The delegation of superior power comes in the form of thinking metabolized doctrine circulating in the right lobe of the heart called the kardia.

What you really are as a person is what you really think, not what you appear to be on the surface, not the way you are dressed or groomed, but what goes on inside the invisible you, which is your soul.

People can hide their thoughts and become masterful at the practice of hypocrisy.

Himself - nephesh = soul.

Hypocrisy is a manifestation of an evil mental attitude.

The real person here is the implacable person and the hypocrite who invites you.

People use thoughts to justify their wrong doings, and they use speech to conceal their thoughts.

This is why courage and genuine humility are straightforward virtues, for they are virtues that hypocrisy cannot imitate.

He taught that the scribes and the Pharisees were hypocrites who gave alms, prayed, fasted, tithed; they were overtly moral and righteous; they studied and taught the Bible; but their mental attitude was evil, MAT 6:2; 6:5; 6:16; 23:23; 23:25.

You will never be a well-rounded personality with a limited vocabulary.

Any spiritual system which demands technical thought improves your mind, personality, character, and eventuates in honor, integrity, and occupation with Christ.

You are today where your thoughts have brought you; you will be tomorrow where your thoughts take you.

With our thoughts, we literally make our world, whether they are true or false thoughts.

Sooner or later, false thinking brings wrong conduct.

Concentration is a matter of your priorities in life.

If Bible doctrine is your number priority then you will be motivated from your own soul.

1CO 2:16 “For who has known the thinking of the Lord that he should instruct Him, but we have the mind of Christ [the mystery doctrine of the Church-age].”

The delegation of divine power in EPH 1:18-20 to every Church-age believer is Bible doctrine metabolized and deployed on the FLOT line of your soul.

A) The content of thought - Bible doctrine with emphasis on the mystery doctrine of the Church-age.

B) The communication of this thought through the spiritual gift of pastor-teacher.

If there is anyone who is going to be a pain in the neck to everyone, it is a pastor-teacher, GAL 4:16.

C) The concentration of the believer on doctrine as it is being taught.

You have your own spiritual life and must be motivated from your own spiritual life.

Living your spiritual life is thinking divine viewpoint.

a) It reflects the values in your life.
b) It reflects your motivation in life.
c) It reflects your mental attitude in life.
d) It reflects your spiritual status quo in life.

Whether it is concentration on doctrine, concentration during the communion service or concentration in prayer, it is all a part of the same thing - thinking, thinking, thinking.

Worship - proskuneo = to kiss, like a dog licking his master’s hand.
PSA 2:12 “Kiss the Son lest He be angry.”- NIV
Proskuneo = to prostrate oneself in homage or to do reverence to, or to adore.

A thought (or lack of thought) can make or break you at any given moment, depending on whether your thought is human viewpoint or divine viewpoint.

1CO 10:12 “Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.”
GAL 6:3 “For if anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself.”

One of the manifestations of arrogance in our society is the fact that the average person thinks he is not.

Mental attitude determines your true character and personality.

Only through experiences of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, and discernment developed, and godly ambition inspired, and spiritual success achieved.

Trials, temptations, disappointments - all these are helps instead of hindrances, if one uses them rightly by having the proper mental attitude when you go through them.

Every trial endured and weathered in the right mental attitude makes a soul virtuous and stronger than it was before.

Capacity is nurtured best in solitude, but character is revealed by your mental attitude in times of adversity, hardship, disaster, and even tragedy.

Slack - raphah = to be consumed, to falter, to faint, to be disheartened.

Winners do not become winners when they win an event, but in the hours, weeks, months, and years they spend preparing for it.

What you are doing right now, if you are filled with the Spirit, is being prepared in the mentality of your soul to handle anything that comes your way. Thinking is either the application of doctrine to life or the application of arrogance and ignorance, which is human viewpoint. Sloppy thinking gets worse over time.

For many believers to think too long about doing a thing often becomes its undoing.

a. Divine viewpoint from the Bible doctrine in your soul.
b. Human viewpoint from living in the cosmic system and functioning under Satan’s policy of good and evil.

Once you get into the cosmic system and reversionism, the arrogance skills hinder the function of divine viewpoint.

JAM 4:6 But He gives a greater grace. Therefore it says, “God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”
1PE 5:5 You younger men [pastors, especially those ordained by other pastors], likewise, be subject to your elders [the elder pastors]; and all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, for God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble.

Thought, speech, and action are a reflection of your mental attitude and motivation in life.
