By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau, even regarding things to come. Part 2

When God the Holy Spirit covers a man’s life in a passage like Heb 11 in one sentence like this, there’s got to be a lot in the sentence.

There are some individuals who think that if the truth is not right out on the surface then it’s not for us to know.

MAT 13:10-11 And the disciples came and said to Him, “Why do You speak to them in parables? And He answered and said to them, “To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been granted.”

PRO 23:23 Buy truth, and do not sell it [don’t sell out on it like so many have], buy wisdom and instruction and understanding.

HEB 11:6 And without doctrine resident in the soul it is impossible to please Him, for he who is occupied with the God must be convinced by resident doctrine that He is, and that He becomes a rewarder to those who diligently seek Him.

“Those who seek Him” - pres-act-part - ekzetousin = diligently or earnestly seek, a verb of obsession.
It means that something becomes so important in your life that it crowds out other things just like an obsession would.

It also means to seek out, to search for, to continually habitually seek in its participial form.
The verb therefore is used for consistent positive volition toward Bible doctrine.

Static present used for a condition which perpetually exists. It represents the importance of being consistent with your positive volition toward doctrine.

“Seeking Him” is gutting it out, day in and day out with doctrine.

HEB 11:6 And without doctrine resident in the soul it is impossible to please Him, for he who is occupied with the God must be convinced by that resident doctrine that He is, and that He becomes a rewarder to those who diligently seek Him.

DEU 4:29 “But from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you search for Him with all your heart and all your soul.”

PSA 34:10 The young lions do lack and suffer hunger; But they who seek the Lord shall not be in want of any good thing.

PRO 28:5 Evil men do not understand justice, But those who seek the Lord understand all things.

Ekzetousin - the verb to seek = to investigate, to scrutinize, to crave and desire for something, therefore P.V.T.D.

MAT 13:44 “The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in the field, which a man found and hid; and from joy over it he goes and sells all that he has, and buys that field.”

COL 2:3 in whom [Jesus Christ] are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

There are spiritual treasures, physical treasures,
mental treasures, social treasures, sexual treasures etc.
all kinds of treasures that need to be dug up.

MAT 13:45-46 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking fine pearls, and upon finding one pearl of great value, he went and sold all that he had, and bought it."

COL 3:1 If then you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.

The pure milk of the word means the unadulterated, unpolluted, unspotted, untainted teaching of the word of God.

MAT 18:3 “Unless you are converted and become like little children, you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.”

1CO 14:20 Brethren, do not be children in your thinking, in evil be babes, but in your thinking be mature.

There is a desire for Bible doctrine or the word of God placed in the believer’s life; however, every believer does not have this desire fulfilled.

To seek - pres-act-imp - zeteite = to search for, to pursue, to endeavor to obtain, to investigate, to examine, to desire to possess, to look for.

Keep on pursuing,
Keep on endeavoring to obtain,

MAR 12:30 “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your
strength.”

PRO 2:4 “Seek her [wisdom] as silver and search for her as for hidden treasures;”

JER 29:13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for me with all your heart.

“By faith” - instrumental singular - Pistei = “by means of doctrine resident in the soul”

Isaac - noun Isaak = laughter.

GEN 17:17 Then Abraham fell on his face and laughed, and said in his heart, “Will a child be born to a man one hundred years old? And will Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear a child?”

GEN 18:12 And Sarah laughed to herself, saying, “After I have become old, shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?”

GEN 17:19 But God said, “No, but Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac [Jitschak - laughter];”

Isaac was born about 2061 B.C., Abraham was about 100 and Sarah was about 90.

So around 2021 B.C. when he was about 40 years old, father Abraham decided to help him out, and so he sent one of his trusted servants to go and pick up a wife for him, GEN 24:4.

Isaac was by character and disposition inclined to be passive and unaggressive, especially since his mother died.

Abraham did not want Isaac to leave the land of Canaan, not even for the purpose of choosing a wife, lest he should be tempted to stay there.

The servant found a woman called Rebekah who was a fascinating woman and he took her back to marry Isaac.

Her name Rebekah, Rivqah means to chain or shackle by beauty.

Gaze - sha’ah = to be stunned, to be astonished, it has the idea of becoming lightheaded or overwhelmed.

GEN 11:27 Now these are the records of the generations of Terah. Terah became the father of Abram, Nahor and Haran;

GEN 11:29 And Abram and Nahor took wives for themselves. The name of Abram’s wife was Sarai; and the name of Nahor’s wife was Milcah,

GEN 22:23 And Bethuel became the father of Rebekah:

ECC 3:4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; A time to mourn, and a time to dance.

He has been mourning for three years, GEN 21:5; GEN 23:1; GEN 24:67; GEN 25:20.
