Jesus' 3 Temptations By Satan

Feb 28, 2025    Pastor Robert R. McLaughlin

Jesus' 3 Temptations By Satan

The discussion centers on Luke 4:1-13, focusing on Jesus' three temptations by Satan. The first temptation involved relying on self rather than the Holy Spirit, which Jesus resisted by quoting Scripture. The second temptation tested Jesus' relationship to the Father's plan, offering him worldly dominion, which Jesus also rejected by quoting Scripture. The third temptation challenged Jesus' relationship to the Word of God, where Satan quoted Scripture out of context. Jesus countered by emphasizing not to put God to the test. The session underscores the power of Bible doctrine over miracles and the importance of correct Scripture application.
