What it means to be initiated into the secret of the mystery. Part 68. What is your vine?

Friday, July 1, 2005

Some people think their vine is their bank account, education, sexual relationships, popularity, skills, connections, possessions, or social relationships; some people even think the church is their vine.

Israel was the vine of the Old Testament, but Christ is the vine in the New Testament.

By a marvelous contrast, Jesus Christ is “the same yesterday, and today, and forever,” HEB 13:8.

The vinedresser was the one who cared for the vines in a vineyard.

As a farmer, he was responsible to cut off the branches that bore no fruit because they tended to sap the energy from the fruit-bearing branches and that increased the productivity of the other branches - the doctrine of separation.

The vinedresser constantly pruned the branches that could bear fruit to enable the vine to concentrate its energy on maturing so that it could bear more fruit.

Pruning is the removal or reduction of certain plant parts that are not required, that are no longer effective, or that are of no use to the plant.

DEU 22:9 You shall not sow your vineyard with two kinds of seed, lest all the produce of the seed which you have sown, and the increase of the vineyard become defiled.

The last thing that some of you need with the struggles you are having living the spiritual life is to be around the wrong kind of people.

Separation is the technique of switching from personal love to impersonal love when dealing with friends and loved ones in the cosmic system.

Separation is based upon the perception of Bible doctrine by which one establishes his priorities in life.
Separation is further based on the application of that doctrine in your the soul.

1. “Separation unto” is the principle of perpetuation momentum in the pre-designed plan of God.

2. “Separation from” should be applied to both believers and unbelievers in the cosmic system especially those who seek to influence the believer to leave God’s system.

a. Mental separation.

Your volition is for the purpose of protecting you from becoming antagonistic toward others even when they are antagonistic toward you, and you do that through impersonal love.

To avoid this negative influence, the believer must have correct priorities, mental preparation and separation, switching from personal love to impersonal love.

Mental separation emphasizes the integrity, honor, and doctrinal application of the believer residing in God’s plan.

Impersonal love emphasizes your personal love for God and so is perpetuated and functions on its own integrity.

Impersonal love sets aside personal love for antagonistic believers and places personal love for God above them.

Impersonal love emphasizes your honor and integrity and does not compromise the believer’s status inside the pre-designed plan of God.

There are two categories of separation from people:
a. Mental separation.
b. Physical separation.

Getting false information in a church.

When a woman is used as a punching bag by her husband, she should leave.
Physical separation means to avoid any personal contact with a person under any circumstances.

Physical separation is sometimes needed to maintain one’s priorities and to use one’s volition to remain inside the PPOG.

PRO 13:20 He who walks with wise men will be wise, But the companion of fools will suffer harm.

2TI 3:5 They [believers and unbelievers in the cosmic system] hold to external forms of godliness, but have renounced the power of that same godliness; you also be turning yourself away from these men.

ROM 16:17-18 - “turn away from them” = physical separation from troublemakers.

Separation is necessary because of the cosmic system, ROM 12:1-3.

2TI 3:5 They [believers and unbelievers in the cosmic system] hold to external forms of godliness, but have renounced the power of that same godliness; you also be turning yourself away form these men.

ROM 16:17-18 - “turn away from them” = physical separation from troublemakers.

Separation is necessary because of the cosmic system, ROM 12:1-3.

By switching from personal love to impersonal love you get away from your illusions about people you have loved.

Separation from unbelievers inside the cosmic system is taught in 2CO 6:14-17.

“Therefore come out from among them.”

Separation is also important in social life, JER 15:16-17, 1PE 4:3-4.

Pruning is done to supply additional energy for the development of the fruit that remains on the branch.

The vinedresser knows exactly what and when to prune.

You do not prune the plant when it is too young, because you would kill it, so you give it time to grow.

You will never lose your salvation, you are just taken away.

Whom does He prune?
Those who have begun to bear fruit.

Pruning from God will only begin after the believer has reached a certain stage of spiritual growth.

Never look at another believer and judge him because you do not think they are getting pruned when you are.

PHI 2:12b Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling
1PE 4:15 By no means let any of you suffer as a murderer, or thief, or evildoer, or as a busybody in other men’s matters.

1TH 4:11 Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life and mind your own business
2TH 3:11 For we hear that some among you are leading an undisciplined life, doing no work at all, but acting like busybodies.

There are times we can expect unjust and unfair treatment, but those are the times that we need to give it over to the Supreme Court of heaven and to the Supreme Court Judge, our Lord, Jesus Christ.

The royal priesthood must have privacy to fulfill its mission in this life.
COL 3:17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.

Throughout the Gospels the Lord dealt with the disciples privately, since much of what occurred was “family business,” MAT 17:19; MAT 24:3; MAR 4:34; MAR 9:28; LUK 10:23.

MAT 18:15 And if your brother sins, go and reprove him in private;
Rieu translation - “Go and have it out with him privately.”

Paul respected the privacy of the leaders of the Jerusalem church when he presented his gospel to the Gentiles for their consideration, GAL 2:2.

JOH 21:21-22 - Peter was sticking his nose into John’s business and the Lord told him it was none of his business what happened to John.

Phillips translation - “Is that your business, your business is to follow Me!”

Violation of privacy means judging others, ROM 14:4,10.

JOH 12:42-43, Nevertheless many even of the rulers believed in Him, but because of the Pharisees they were not confessing {Him,} lest they should be put out of the synagogue; for they loved the approval of men rather than the approval of God.

Privacy includes the principle of live and let live, 2TH 3:11-12.

Apostates always violate the privacy of others,
1TI 5:13.

1TI 5:13 And at the same time they also learn to be idle, as they go around from house to house; and not merely idle, but also gossips and busybodies, talking about things not proper to mention.

Violation of privacy is similar to violations of other freedoms.

Freedom means life, privacy, and property,

The principle of life is violated by murder, slavery, and tyranny.

Property is violated by stealing.

1PE 4:15 By no means let any of you suffer as a murderer, or thief, or evildoer, or a troublesome meddler;

Intrusion into the privacy of someone else is compared to stealing and murder.

There are a variety of spiritual gifts and a variety of believers who are at different stages of spiritual growth.

The skilled pruner first removes all dead, broken, diseased or problem limbs by cutting them at the point of origin or back to a strong lateral branch or shoot.

The vinedresser not only cuts away dead or useless branches, but he can also make “training cuts” that will shape the vine for maximum fruit production.

PHI 1:6 For I am confident of this very thing, that He who has begun in you an absolute good work will complete it until the day of Christ Jesus.

PHI 2:13 for it is God [the Holy Spirit] who is at work in you, both to will [give you motivation] and to work [He gives you the ability to execute] above and beyond His good pleasure.

Make additional corrective prunings to eliminate weak or narrow crotches and remove the less desirable central leader where double leaders occur.

The keyword or the key term is abide; it appears 10 times in the eleven verses.

The second part of the chapter, verses 12-17, talks about the relationship of believer with believer and the key word is Love.

One other relationship that is continually a matter of struggle = the believer with the world, the last part of the chapter, 18-27.

What the eagle means to you as a national emblem, the vine and the branch meant to the Israelite.

What is a vinedresser?

It’s the gardener, the one who carries out the whole work of cultivating, pruning, working with the vine.

As the vinedresser dealing with fruit from the branches, I believe that God not only brings times and seasons to change the trees and to change the weather but to change His children.

God gives us certain seasons that we might pause and reflect, that we might look within ourselves as we look back and reflect on what direction we are going in.

TLJC says something regarding position, and then He says something regarding production; they are not the same, they are mutually exclusive.

ROM 8:32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?

God says, I looked at my vineyard and I wanted to see reproductions of my life and I did not find it.

He names 2 reproductions, justice and righteousness.

That is not in the light or idea of fruit; bearing fruit has to do with reproducing the life of the vine in the fruit of the branch.

The Lord never once commands us to bear fruit, He commands us to abide in him, and when we abide in Him, fruit comes.....and it comes in abundance.

I exchanged the energy of the flesh for the work of God the Holy Spirit in my life.

Unfortunately, in our day and age, and with little apparent thought for the implications involved, Christian leaders have crammed upon believers the idea that Christian character is a thing to be built by strenuous self-effort and self discipline.

Galatians 5:22-23 is the shortest life of Christ ever written, for the fruit of the Spirit is the outliving of the in-living Christ.

Dr. Scofield - “Christian character is not mere moral or legal correctness but the possession and manifestation of nine graces: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance.”

JOH 15:5 “I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me, and I in him, he bears much fruit; for apart from Me you can do nothing.”

Fruit - nominative singular masculine noun “karpos” = production, in the singular revealing the fact that God the Holy Spirit has to develop in us all nine of the characteristics which are about to be mentioned.

“Of the Spirit” - tou + ablative of source - pneumatos = God the Holy Spirit.

Pres-act-ind - estin - e*stin = “it keeps on being”

The first part of the fruit - nominative singular feminine noun “agape” = love.

Since the Holy Spirit declares that “agape” love is the greatest virtue of all, 1CO 13:13, it is reasonable that it should stand first on the list of the fruit of the Spirit.

Agape love is a relaxed mental attitude love.

Agape love is a mental attitude love which manifests itself through thoughtfulness of others, good manners, being relaxed around others and avoiding the sins of the tongue.

Doctrine gives integrity, concentration, the Royal Family Honor Code, spirituality, stability, which all add up to genuine love.

Agape love is unconditional - you will accept and tolerate people as you find them.

Agape love contains built-in virtue and therefore has capacity for true love in friendship, romance, marriage, and all other human interaction.

God the Holy Spirit has produced this love in you when you can handle being the victim of others’ mental attitude sins.

1. Agape love is that problem solving device of Christianity which is defined as unconditional love toward all mankind.
2. Being impersonal, agape love emphasizes the virtue of the subject rather than attraction to an object or rapport with an object.

3. Agape love toward all mankind is the ultimate expression of virtue.
It is also the ultimate expression of humility.

4. Agape love for all mankind is the ultimate expression of virtue, humility, objectivity, and is the basis for being receptive to Bible doctrine, which is the basis for growing in grace and knowledge!

Peace is integrity “within” toward self.
Goodness is integrity in expression toward others.
Self-control is integrity in expression toward God.

The first fruit that abiding in Christ and learning and applying His word will produce is the standard of agape-love which TLJC commands all believers to have, which is supernatural and totally divine in character.

JOH 13:34-35 “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Meno - to stay in a given place, state or relationship, remain, abide, continue, to maintain unbroken fellowship with one, 1JO 2:19, to be continually operative in Him by His divine influence and energy, JOH 14:10, to persevere, to endure.

Verse 16 - “We know agape love by this, that He laid down His life for us” = John indicates the agape love for the lost which led to the sacrifice on the cross.

Verse 17 - having indicated also the lack of love in the one who makes no sacrifice for others, the Apostle John states, “How does the love of God abide in him?”

PRO 17:9 He who covers a transgression seeks love, but he who repeats a matter separates intimate friends.
MAT 5:44 “But I say to you, love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you”

LUK 6:27 “But I say to you who hear, love Your enemies, do good to those who hate you,”
JOH 14:15 “If you love Me, you will keep my commands.”

JOH 14:21 “He who has My doctrines and keeps them, he it is who loves Me;”
JOH 14:24 “He who does not love Me does not keep My doctrines;”

PHI 1:9 And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in epignosis doctrine and all discernment,
PHI 2:2 Make my happiness complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same agape love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose.

1PE 4:8 Above all, keep fervent in your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins.

Second part of the fruit - nominative singular feminine noun “chara” - joy = inner happiness and contentment.

Albert Camus - “To be happy we must not be too concerned with others.”
Add a little doctrine to that and we could say to be happy we must not be too occupied with others but occupied with TLJC.

True happiness or joy is the monopoly from the Lord, a treasure in the soul, and therefore should be guarded carefully, and nothing in this world can ever coincide with it.

Satan’s myth of arrogance is that both people and pleasant circumstances in life can make you happy.

Satan’s propaganda is that money, success, pleasure, social life, sexual life, public approbation, fame, material things, travel, health, and pleasant circumstances in life can make you happy.

True happiness comes from spiritual wealth, not material wealth.
Happiness comes from giving, not getting.

What it means to be initiated into the secret of the mystery. Part 72. The fruit of the Spirit developed from the branch being rightly related to the vine called joy.

Friday, July 15, 2005

The first manifestation of fruit = agape love or virtue-love which is impersonal and unconditional.
The second part of the fruit - nominative singular feminine noun “chara” - joy = inner happiness and contentment.

God’s happiness is a relaxed mental attitude and an opponent to pride and arrogance; and it expresses itself magnificently in the friendship and conversation with true friends.

To be happy we must not be too occupied with others but occupied with TLJC.
Satan’s propaganda is that money, success, pleasure, social life, sexual life, public approbation, fame, material things, travel, health, and pleasant circumstances in life can make you happy.

True happiness comes from spiritual wealth, not material wealth.

By way of contrast to the rich man in that parable, what God has provided for us in sharing His happiness is a permanent factor, and like agape love is also a problem-solving device.

Anything that is worthwhile is worthwhile in adversity as well as in prosperity.

If you are dependent on any person or set of circumstances for happiness, you are weak and you are not a branch rightly related to the vine because you do not have the happiness of God.

If, as a believer in Jesus Christ, you have been faithful in the P.M.A. of Bible doctrine and have advanced to any stage of spiritual adulthood; you are not only a strong person, but you have that great inner happiness.

God’s happiness is not dependent on environment, associations, or circumstances of prosperity or adversity; it depends on none of these things.

Satan’s administration of pseudo-happiness to any believer or unbeliever can only exist when that person is involved in the cosmic system; primarily in cosmic one, where through arrogance, any capacity for happiness is destroyed.

The arrogance complex is very deceptive because it deludes, distracts, and deceives mankind into false notions about what constitutes happiness.

This is called pseudo-happiness because, beyond those moments of good times, there are bad times, routine times, or dull times.

JOB 20:5 The good times of the wicked are short-lived; godless joy is only momentary.

By way of contrast, God’s happiness is a magnificent problem-solving device because you have it all the time, and you merely tune into it during times of problem-solving.

The fruit of the Spirit developed from the branch being rightly related to the vine, called joy or the perfect happiness of God, is not only a problem-solving device, but it is a basis for capacity for life.

Eusebeia = spiritual dynamics or the spiritual life.

Godliness = you are in the place where God can train you - residence, function, and momentum inside the PPOG.

“Contentment” = God’s happiness which begins in spiritual self-esteem, continued in spiritual independence, and completed in spiritual maturity.

Being content with food and shelter = if you are content with the basic things and you develop God’s happiness, then God can trust you with the most magnificent things in life, as packaged in your escrow blessings for time.

1. You cannot build your happiness on the details of life: money, success, pleasure, social life, friends, relatives, health, sex, or status symbols.
2. You cannot build your happiness on pleasant or improved environment.

3. You cannot build your happiness on people, romance, marriage, friendship, children, or social activity.
4. You cannot build your happiness by changing the Devil’s world through reform crusades, social engineering, violence, civil disobedience, or revolution.

5. You cannot build your happiness on someone else’s unhappiness.

Were glad - aor-pass-ind - chairo = to be happy.

a. The perfect happiness of God is based on rejection of human viewpoint and acceptance of divine viewpoint.
PSA 1:1 How happy is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked,

b. The perfect happiness of God depends on respect for the Lord and Bible doctrine.
PSA 112:1 How happy is the man who respects the Lord, who greatly delights in His doctrines.

c. The perfect happiness of God can only be attained when the believer seeks God with all his right lobe.
PSA 119:2 How happy are those who observe His testimonies, who seek Him with all their heart.

d. The perfect happiness of God depends upon the execution of the PPOG in the believer’s life.
PSA 128:1 How happy is everyone who respects the Lord, who walks in His ways.

e. The perfect happiness of God is related to the daily intake of B.D.
PRO 8:34 Happy is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at my doorposts.

f. The perfect happiness of God depends upon your doctrinal convictions.
ROM 14:22 The doctrine which you have, have as your own conviction before God. Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves.

g. The perfect happiness of God is related to metabolization of B.D.
JER 15:16 Your words were found and I ate them, and Your doctrines became happiness for me and the delight of my heart;

h. The perfect happiness of God is related to understanding His grace policy.
PSA 31:7 I will rejoice and be happy in the provision of Your grace.

JOH 11:35 - dakruo ho Iesous = Jesus wept,
1TH 5:16 - pantote chairo = always rejoice or be happy.

NEH 8:10b Do not be grieved; do not be unhappy. For the happiness of the Lord is your strength.

MAT 25:21 Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things, enter into the happiness of your Master.

HEB 12:2 Be concentrating on Jesus [occupation with Christ], the author and perfecter of our doctrine, who because of His exhibited happiness He endured the cross, having disregarded the shame, and He sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

When Jesus Christ was being judged for our sins on the cross, He demonstrated the fact that the mature believer with perfect happiness can endure anything in life.

The power that sustained our Lord on the cross, the omnipotence of God the Holy Spirit inside the PPOG, HEB 9:14, is now available to us as members of the Royal Family of God.

ROM 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and prosperity and happiness by means of the Holy Spirit.

WHAT IT MEANS TO BE INITIATED INTO THE SECRET OF THE MYSTERY, PART 73. THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT REPRESENTS SUPERNATURAL QUALITIES OF THE CHARACTER OF CHRIST. GAL 5:22-23; JOH 15:2-16; MAT 5:43-48

Robert McLaughlin Bible Ministries

What it means to be initiated into the secret of the mystery. Part 73. The fruit of the Spirit represents supernatural qualities of the character of Christ.

Sunday, July 17, 2005

The fruit is the manifestation of the life of Jesus Christ or His character traits, GAL 5:22-23.

Nine words - denote the fruit of the Spirit that represents supernatural qualities of the character of Christ.

Christian leaders have crammed upon believers the idea that Christian character is a thing to be built by strenuous self-effort and self discipline.

This leads to a path which is characterized by dependence upon self and human works as the basis for acceptance with God and producing fruit.

There is a curse placed upon man when he trusts in himself and his own ability, JER 17:5.

This is all made possible because of the believer’s union with Christ, JOH 15:5,
1CO 12:12-13, and it is the fruit of the Spirit in those believers who have learned to rely on the indwelling power of God the Holy Spirit.

GAL 5:22 - love - nominative singular feminine noun - a*gavph =- agape = “love.”

Agape love is a relaxed mental attitude love.

Agape love is a mental attitude love which manifests itself through thoughtfulness of others, good manners, being relaxed around others and avoiding the sins of the tongue.

Agape love is also unconditional; you will accept and tolerate people as you find them.

The second part of the fruit - nominative singular feminine noun chara - carav - joy = inner happiness and contentment.

True happiness or joy is the monopoly from the Lord, a treasure in the soul, and therefore should be guarded carefully, and nothing in this world can ever coincide with it.

Having perfect happiness in the midst of it from the Holy Spirit is due to being sustained by the omnipotence of God the Holy Spirit inside the PPOG.

1. God’s happiness is dependent on the believer’s ability to separate from others.
PSA 1:1 How happy is the believer who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers!

2. God’s happiness is contingent on the ability of the believer to persevere.
JAM 1:12 Happy is the one who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

3. God’s happiness is also reliant on the believer receiving correction when needed.
JOB 5:17 Behold, how happy is the man whom God reproves, so do not despise the discipline of the Almighty.

4. God’s happiness is dependent on retaining doctrine in the soul.
PRO 3:18 She [Wisdom-Doctrine] is a tree of life to those who take hold of her, and happy are all who hold her fast.

5. Divine blessing is dependent on the happiness of God motivating the believer.
DEU 28:47 You did not serve the Lord your God with happiness and a glad heart, for the abundance of all things;

6. God’s happiness is dependent on the filling of the Holy Spirit.
ACT 13:52 And the disciples were continually filled with happiness and with the Holy Spirit.

7. God’s happiness does not depend on the destruction of your enemies.
PRO 24:17 Do not be happy when your enemy falls, and do not let your heart be glad when he stumbles;

8. God’s happiness is dependent on your love for the PPOG.
PSA 119:35 Make me walk in the path of Thy commands, for I find happiness in it.

9. God’s happiness is dependent on your love for doctrine.
PSA 119:47 And I shall find happiness in Your commands, which I love.

10. God’s happiness is dependent on the believer operating in divine integrity.
PSA 106:13 How happy are those who guard justice, and who manufacture righteousness [the production of divine good] continually!

Once you draw sap or life from the Vine you will develop a joy or happiness which is revealed by not having what you want but wanting what you have.

There are some people who cause happiness wherever they go; others whenever they go.

Happiness is not a destination; it is a method or manner of life whereby you are content.

It is necessary to the happiness of man that he be mentally faithful to himself.

Life’s biggest question is whether or not you are happy - not with others, but with yourself.

We travel through the world or the cosmos in search of happiness, and it is within the reach of every man because it can only be found in Christ resulting in a contented mind.

Happiness is the key to success.
You develop it by surviving difficult times and challenging adversity.

In our lives, we must see that it is not happiness that makes us grateful, but gratefulness that makes us happy.

1TH 5:16 - pantote chairo = always rejoice or be happy.

What a pity that so many people would rather believe their doubts and doubt their beliefs.

WHAT IT MEANS TO BE INITIATED INTO THE SECRET OF THE MYSTERY, PART 74. THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT DEVELOPED FROM THE BRANCH BEING RIGHTLY RELATED TO THE VINE CALLED PEACE. GAL 5:22-23

Robert McLaughlin Bible Ministries

What it means to be initiated into the secret of the mystery. Part 74. The fruit of the Spirit developed from the branch being rightly related to the vine called peace.

Thursday, July 21, 2005

The third part of the fruit -nominative singular feminine noun - eirene - ei*rhvnh = peace, tranquility, health and prosperity.

This word connotes two types of prosperity, inner peace with God and overt prosperity and blessing.

No external circumstances can rob this peace from a believer, not even the greatest trials or tribulations.

If you have the fruit of the Spirit you will be at peace with others, ACT 7:26, ROM 12:18.

Peace = the tranquil state of the soul being assured of salvation and fearing nothing from God and being content with the relationship which exists.

Eirene = materialistic security and prosperity, LUK 19:42, HEB 7:2
Eirene = spiritual prosperity which means maximum awareness of life.

PRO 8:18 “Riches and honor are with Me [doctrine], enduring wealth and virtue [righteousness].”

PSA 23:5-6 You have prepared for me a table in the presence of my enemies. You have anointed my head with oil. My cup [of blessing] is overflowing. Only prosperity and grace pursue me all the days of my life [escrow blessings for time], and I will remain in the house of the Lord forever [escrow blessings for eternity].

PHI 4:6-7 Stop worrying about anything, but in every circumstance through prayer and through supplication for personal needs after thanksgivings let your requests or petitions be revealed to the God. In fact, that spiritual peace and prosperity from the source of the God, which surpasses or rises above and beyond all comprehension, shall garrison your hearts [right lobes] also your motivation minds in Christ Jesus.

1. Mental stability is a key issue in the spiritual life, for spirituality is a mental attitude produced by the filling of the Holy Spirit inside the PPOG, and the application of Bible doctrine which has been learned and metabolized.

2. Mental stability is the ability to think doctrine and divine viewpoint under pressure, which is also courage.

3. Mental stability is the ability to make correct and accurate application of metabolized doctrine in time of testing.

4. Mental stability is the insulation against Christian psychosis, neurosis, and psychopathic tendencies.
5. Mental stability is the spiritual ability to pass thought testing as a category of momentum testing.

6. Mental stability is the God-given ability to make about 95% accurate application of metabolized doctrine in your soul.

The peace that comes from the Lord comes from knowing His power and strength and living in it.

ROM 3:17 And the path of peace have they not known.

ISA 9:6 - our Lord is called the Prince of Peace or the Prince of inner peace and overt prosperity.

ROM 15:33 “Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.”
ROM 16:20 The God of peace [inner peace and overt prosperity] will soon crush Satan under your feet.

ROM 5:1 Therefore having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
ROM 2:10 but glory and honor and peace [inner peace and overt prosperity] to every man who does good [produces divine good], to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

ROM 14:19 So then let us pursue the things which make for or produce peace [inner peace and overt prosperity] and the building up of one another.
ROM 15:13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace by means of believing [spiritual metabolism], that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

COL 3:15 “And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts.”
1PE 1:2 “May grace and peace be yours in fullest measure.”

ROM 14:17 for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace [inner peace and overt prosperity] and happiness by means of the Holy Spirit.

2TI 2:22 Now flee from youthful lusts, and pursue righteousness, faith, love {and} peace, with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.
HEB 12:14 Pursue peace [inner peace and overt prosperity] with all men, and the sanctification without which no one will see the Lord.

1PE 3:11 Turn away from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
2PE 3:14 Therefore, beloved, since you look for these things, be diligent to be found by Him [at the bema seat judgment] in peace [eirene-prosperity], spotless and blameless,

PHI 4:9 The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things; and the God of peace [inner peace and overt prosperity] shall be with you.

The fourth part of the fruit - nominative singular feminine noun makrothumia - makroqumiva = patience and longsuffering.

1. The patience and longsuffering of God is related to His lovingkindness and truth, PSA 86:15.
2. Patience and longsuffering is also related to the compassion of the Lord, PSA 103:8.

3. Patience and longsuffering is related to the power or omnipotence of God, Nahum 1:3.
4. The patience and longsuffering of God is related to the principle of repentance, ROM 2:4.

PSA 18:35 Thou hast also given me the shield of Thy salvation, And Thy right hand upholds me; And Thy gentleness makes me great.

ROM 2:4 Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance?

5. The patience and longsuffering of God is related to the Lord’s tolerance and endurance with us, 1TI 1:16 And yet for this reason I found mercy, in order that in me as the foremost, Jesus Christ might demonstrate His perfect patience, as an example for those who would believe in Him for eternal life.

Patience and longsuffering is a system of thinking, not an emotion.

WHAT IT MEANS TO BE INITIATED INTO THE SECRET OF THE MYSTERY, PART 75. GAL 5:22-23 "THE FRUIT OR THE PRODUCTION OF THE SPIRIT IS KINDNESS, GRACIOUSNESS, GENEROSITY, AND SENSITIVITY TO OTHERS."

What it means to be initiated into the secret of the mystery. Part 75. GAL 5:22-23 "the fruit or the production of the Spirit is kindness, graciousness, generosity, and sensitivity to others.".

Friday, July 22, 2005

The fifth part of the fruit of the Spirit - nominative singular feminine noun chrestotes - crhstovth" = kindness, graciousness, generosity, and sensitivity to others.

“Chrestotes” = being gracious and operating in grace orientation.

Grace-orientation is the believer’s recognition of all that God has freely given to us and is the basis of gratitude to God Who has given His Unique Son for us and now freely gives us all things, ROM 8:32.

Grace-orientation is the believer’s awareness from metabolized doctrine that “a man can receive nothing except it be given him from heaven,” JOH 3:27.

EPH 2:12 Remember that you were at that time separate from Christ, excluded from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.

JAM 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation, or shifting shadow.

COL 1:12 Giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.

a. Sins were not imputed to the believer.
b. The righteousness of God and of Christ were imputed to the believer.

This case condemns all precedence for arrogance, legalism, and activism, and it points to the importance of being gracious and operating in grace orientation.

The scribes and the Pharisees were officers of the Jewish Supreme court called the Sanhedrin.

The witnesses in this case were the judges of the Supreme Court of Israel.

When the scribes and Pharisees brought this woman to the Lord in order to put her case before Him, they made her stand in the middle of the court.

This woman is indicative of all the believers in the world who are victims of being judged and condemned by the self-righteous arrogant do-gooders.

REV 12:10 for the accuser of our brethren has been thrown down, who accuses them before our God day and night.

Rabbi = “teacher.”

Because only the woman was brought before TLJC, we can assume that this appears to be a case of conspiracy against the woman.

The scribes and the Pharisees are “using” this woman to try to corner the Lord Jesus Christ.

We have a sinner who knows she is sinful and knows she has failed and is guilty.
There is the other group of individuals who consider themselves to be righteous and beyond reproach.

Our Lord with His infinite wisdom was about to awaken the guilt in them as He blotted out the guilt of the woman.

1PE 4:8 Above all, keep fervent in your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins.

PRO 10:12 Hatred stirs up strife, But love covers all transgressions.

PRO 17:9 He who covers a transgression seeks love, But he who repeats a matter separates intimate friends.

When our Lord wrote on the ground, it was simply an act of divorcing or isolating Himself from these legalists and religious activists.

Our Lord spoke to present the higher issue related to the spiritual life and the objective: to avoid activism, civil disobedience, and crusading.

It was the Jewish law that the chief witnesses against the accused had to be the first ones to throw the stones to stone the accused to death.

Religious activism is manifested always by the use of the arrogance skills (self-justification, self-deception, self-absorption).

Religious activism uses the arrogance skills to justify self, deceive self, and become preoccupied with self.

This is why the Lord calls these judges of the Sanhedrin hypocrites, MAT 23:13,14,15,23,25, 27,29.

There never was any grace orientation in the function of religious activists during the dispensation of the hypostatic union, nor will there be any grace orientation by religious activists during the dispensation of grace (the Church-age).

The mandate of the Word of God during the Church-age is to use the spiritual skills to execute the PPOG and not to enter into Christian activism, 2PE 3:18.

Religious activists used the law as an instrument to attempt to destroy our Lord’s ministry, to discredit, to malign, to judge, to create a public lie about the impeccable person of the humanity of Christ.

1CO 12:3 - no one can call Jesus “Lord” except by the Holy Spirit.
On the other hand, the arrogant officers of the court only called Him “teacher.”

1. For the positive believer, God’s grace policy is a greater deterrent than the condemnation of legalism.

2. People respond to grace, but react to legalism.

3. The grace policy of our Lord provides a far greater self-motivation to resist temptation than the fear and guilt function of the emotional complex of sins.

The Lord loves to take an individual who has been plagued by guilt all his life and make that individual one of the greatest disciples of all time.

It is a lot easier to forgive others and love others when you recognize the guilt you have been delivered from yourself.

JOH 8:9 [K.J.] And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one.

Her guilt, her failures and weaknesses are about to be turned into one of the most fantastic and amazing blessings in her life.

God blesses us not because we deserve it but because He desires to.

Once you begin to judge others and blame others for your present condition you will end up with even more guilt than you started with.

The fifth part of the fruit of the Spirit - nominative singular feminine noun chrestotes - crhstovth" = kindness, graciousness, generosity, and sensitivity to others.

Moses was in conflict with them in Egypt and in the desert with Korah, Dathan and Abiram.

Jeremiah was fighting with them in Judah.
Ezekiel faced them and called them “foolish prophets” that have followed their own spirit and have seen nothing.

The apostle Paul called them “preachers of another gospel,” Gal 1, and purveyors of the doctrines of demons,1TI 4:1.

PSA 94:8 Pay heed, you senseless among the people; and when will you understand, stupid ones!

LUK 15:1-2 Now all the tax-collectors and the prostitutes were coming near him to listen to him. And both Pharisees and scribes were constantly complaining about it, and they said, “This man constantly welcomes prostitutes and dines with them.”

One of the big thrusts of psychology is “to trust in yourself.”

PSA 62:9 Men of low degree are only vanity, and men of rank are a lie; In the balances they go up; They are together lighter than breath.

ISA 2:22 Stop regarding man, whose breath {of life} is in his nostrils; For why should he be esteemed?

Your personal sense of destiny is your spiritual self-esteem and is far, far greater than human self-esteem.

There are no weaknesses in God’s plan; all of the weaknesses are in us.

The tax-collector was a Roman aristocrat but considered by the Jews to be the lowest of all social rank at the time of writing.

JOH 1:17 For the law was given through Moses, grace and truth were realized though Jesus Christ.

The tax collectors were the aristocracy of Rome.
The prostitutes, in the hypocrisy in Israel, were always considered the lowest of low.

A publican was a tax-collector.
The chief-publicans were Romans and hated by all patriotic Jews.

The publicans were despised and hated as a class of people, so that their unpopularity was only exceeded by the Pharisee and scribe hatred of the prostitutes.

Users were men, including scribes and Pharisees, who relieved their sexual tensions with prostitutes, and then, in the function of self-justification, excused their evil with the arrogance skills.

The publican was generally a loser who came to Israel as a renegade, managing an arbitrary tax system to extort money and make his fortune as he was collecting taxes.

They go crazy because they move into the second stage of the arrogance skills, self-deception.

This leads to self-absorption where they take their very own flaws and super-impose them on others.

“Contempt” -
pres-act-part - exoutheneo = disgust, hatred, disrespect, to utterly despise or disdain.

In this parable, TLJC reproves and condemns two sins: improper confidence in ourselves and pride in despising others.

To maintain their position, the Pharisees practiced every form of evil from religious activism, hypocrisy, self-justification, self-deception, self-absorption to tyranny.

In his self-righteous arrogance and self-justification, the Pharisee assumes in self-deception that God is impressed with his works.

Self-deception results in denial and projection, malice, vilification, revenge, bitterness, implacability, hatred, self-pity.

The Pharisee was probably even following the Roman aristocrat, the tax-collector, and he wanted to make it clear that the tax collector was mixed up.

Aor-pass-part - histemi =
to take a stand.
Passive voice = something caused the Pharisee to take a stand, his so-called good works.

Per-act-part - histemi
Perfect tense = this was always his attitude to stand in a position of humility before God.

Williams translation -
“The Pharisee stood and said this self centered prayer.”

The Pharisee used 29 words in his prayer to the publican’s six.

1. That he was not created a Gentile.
2. That he was not a Plebeian or an ordinary Roman citizen.
3. That he was not born a woman.

WHAT IT MEANS TO BE INITIATED INTO THE SECRET OF THE MYSTERY, PART 77. THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT IS BEING GENEROUS AND PRODUCING DIVINE GOOD. GAL 5:22; PSA 24:1; 50:10; MAT 7:7-12; PSA 112:1-3

What it means to be initiated into the secret of the mystery. Part 77. The fruit of the Spirit is being generous and producing divine good.

Wednesday, July 27, 2005

The sixth part of the fruit of the Spirit - nominative singular feminine noun agathosune - a*gaqwsuvnh = to be generous and to produce divine good.

ACT 20:35 “It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
2TI 3:16 “All Scripture is inspired by God”
ACT 10:34 “that God is not one to show partiality”

God wants every believer to be generous and produce divine good and prosper - even in the financial realm.

If we cannot believe God’s promises in the area of our finances, how can we be sure that we can believe His promises for eternal salvation and everything else we claim to believe?

HAG 2:8 “The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,” declares the Lord of hosts.

ROM 8:32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?

PSA 84:11 No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly.
DEU 8:18 But you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who is giving you power to make wealth,

3JO 1:2 Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers.

1CO 4:7 For who regards you as superior? And what do you have that you did not receive? But if you did receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?

MAT 11:19 The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, “Behold, a gluttonous man and a drunkard,”
He ate fine food and drank good wine......He was not poor.

2CO 8:9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.

Our Lord “became” poor when He made the supreme sacrifice of becoming human, deity becoming true humanity.

MAR 15:24 And they crucified Him, and divided up His garments among themselves, casting lots for them, {to decide} what each should take.

We are concerned here with His earthly ministry, the approximate three year period between the time He was baptized and filled with God’s Holy Spirit in the Jordan River until the time He was crucified on the cross.

Jesus and His organization had a treasurer, Judas - JOH 13:29 Judas had the money box.

When Peter and the other disciples had fished all night and came up empty, Jesus was able to produce so many fish that the nets broke, LUK 5:1-11,
JOH 21:1-11.

He simply told two of His disciples to go into the village of Bethphage to look for a donkey and its colt tied alongside the road.

He was filled with the Spirit and being generous, He produced divine good, and the promises of God were fulfilled.

LUK 6:38 “Give, and it will be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, they will pour into your lap. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return.”

PRO 3:9-10 Honor the Lord from your wealth, And from the first of all your produce; So your barns will be filled with plenty, And your vats will overflow with new wine.
PRO 19:17 He who is gracious to a poor man lends to the Lord, And He will repay him for his good deed.

2CO 9:6 Now this I say, he who sows sparingly shall also reap sparingly; and he who sows bountifully shall also reap bountifully.

WHAT IT MEANS TO BE INITIATED INTO THE SECRET OF THE MYSTERY, PART 78. THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT AND HUMAN GOOD

What it means to be initiated into the secret of the mystery. Part 78. The fruit of the Spirit and human good.

Sunday, July 31, 2005

The sixth part of the fruit of the Spirit - nominative singular feminine noun agathosune - a*gaqwsuvnh = to be generous and to produce divine good.

Divine good is an absolute concept related to God. Human good is a relative concept related to mankind.

We, as believers, can perform divine good = God has given us in grace the means or the power to do so.
The means of producing divine good is the filling of the Holy Spirit and the perception of Bible doctrine.

Divine good is permanent and absolute. Human good is temporary and relative.

Human good is corruptible, because mankind has a sin nature and commits acts of personal sin.
Human good produces blind arrogance and corrupts the one who produces it.

When the believer is filled with the Spirit and growing from doctrine, his human good is converted into divine good.

Human good is based upon the relative standards of mankind; divine good is based on the absolute and eternal standards of God.

If human good and human works are excluded from salvation, and they are, it follows that human good and human works are excluded from the plan of God for the believer.

Mankind in spiritual death has no system of good deeds by which he can impress God and have eternal life. The only good that impresses God is the saving work of Christ on the cross.

There is a system of good which can be performed by believers and which is acceptable to God.

He provides the filling of the Holy Spirit, our portfolio of invisible assets, the problem solving devices, promises from the Word of God, and the doctrine which motivates us to perform the good deed.

The perfect, absolute, and eternal standards of God, revealed in the Word of God, must be the norm for understanding the true nature of human good.

ROM 7:21 I find then the principle that evil is present in me, the one who wishes to do good.

There is a good that is evil and a good that is divine.

Desirable - chamad = to covet or to lust after something.
She thought that understanding good and evil could make her wise rather than doctrine.

Wise - sakal = intelligent, prosperous, successful.
What was the first thing that the woman wanted that she thought that God had apparently not provided for her?
Intelligence, wisdom.

Qal imperfect - laqach = “she took.”
Laqach = to take.
Imperfect tense = she had it in her hands for a while.

She added to the Word of God and now her false doctrine will deceive her, for the Lord never said you cannot touch it.

Qal imperfect - akal = when she ate it, she entered in to the first sin of human history.
Holding it in her hand, it was still temptation. When she decided to eat it, that was the act of volition that became the original sin.

Looked at the fruit
Longed for the fruit
Laid hold of the fruit
Ate the fruit
Became spiritually dead.

Preachers try to correlate Adam identifying with the woman and eating the fruit with TLJC identifying with sin and dying for the human race on the cross.

It was outright rebellion and disobedience whereas the cross was the most noble act in all of human history!!!!

The issue: fellowship with God versus compatible relationship with the woman.
He decided to go with the woman rather than TLJC. He should have been leading and he was led.

Naked - erom = their physical body was no longer covered by light.

Satan’s first objective in this temptation was to take control of the world from Adam.
His second objective was to defeat God in the courtroom appeal trial of the angelic conflict which he did not succeed in doing.

Disobedience to God regarding the tree of knowledge of good and evil meant not only spiritual death but coming under the rulership of that creature genius Satan.

When you understand that human good + sin = evil, you will understand the policy of Satan, and the genius of Satan as the ruler of this world.

Satan really spends more time trying to acquire human good from his followers rather than sin.

The goal of Satan is to have the Millennium on earth by man’s efforts under Satan’s sponsorship before the second coming of Jesus Christ.

When you understand that human good was not necessary for a relationship with God then you understand something that over 90% of Christians do not understand today.
