What it means to be initiated into the secret of the mystery. Part 27. The Doctrine of the Mentorship of the Holy Spitit.

Wednesday, March 9, 2005

“Helper” - noun - parakleton = a helper, someone to assist, a mentor, and in our case, mentor describes the ministry of God the Holy Spirit as the paraclete-helper, the guide, the teacher, the counselor of every individual believer.

The Doctrine of the Mentorship of the Holy Spirit.
Point 1. Definition.

The Holy Spirit as our mentor is a metaphor used to describe the ministry of God the Holy Spirit as the paraclete-helper, the guide, the teacher, the counselor of every individual believer.

EPH 4:12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ;

Anointing - noun - chrisma = a special endowment of the Holy Spirit; something smeared on, an ointment - used of the gift of the Holy Spirit as the efficient aid in getting a knowledge of the truth.

Point 2. Our Lord’s Prophecy of the Mentorship of the Holy Spirit.

Paracletos = primarily a helper, a counselor, someone who can instill wisdom into your soul.

“Because He lives with you” - par + personal pronoun humin = the ministry of the Holy Spirit to the disciples during the dispensation of the hypostatic union.

LUK 11:13 “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall {your} heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?”

“And He will be in you” - en + locative plural - personal pronoun humin = the ministry of the Holy Spirit to Church-age believers.

Every member of the Trinity indwells every believer during the Church-age, a radical change from anything in the past and a part of the uniqueness of the Church-age.

Point 3. The Indwelling and Filling of the Spirit Related to Mentorship.

a. The Holy Spirit indwells the body of the believer to create a temple for the indwelling of Christ as a guarantee of blessing. The indwelling of the Holy Spirit in the believer’s body is found in ROM 8:10; 1CO 3:16; 1CO 6:19-20; 2CO 6:16.

1CO 3:16 Do you not know that you are a temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
1CO 6:19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?

2TI 1:13-14, Retain the standard of sound doctrines which you have heard from me, in the faith and love which are in Christ Jesus. Guard, through the Holy Spirit who dwells in us, the treasure [doctrine] which has been entrusted to you.

b. To provide a permanent base for the Holy Spirit’s availability as your mentor.

The indwelling of the Spirit is permanent and not affected by experiential status.
The filling of the Spirit is mandated, EPH 5:18.

GAL 5:16 - “keep walking by means of the Spirit” = the function of the spiritual life.

Point 4. God the Holy Spirit as our mentor is our teacher of the word of God.

Spiritually alive, we have access to everything God’s Spirit is doing, and cannot be judged by unspiritual critics.

The filling of the Holy Spirit plus human I.Q. equals spiritual I.Q. plus the teaching ministry of the Spirit equals the execution of the PPOG.

If God the Holy Spirit is not your mentor in relationship to the teaching ministry of the word of God, then you are a loser believer.

The First Advent of the Holy Spirit occurs at the beginning of the Church-age after the First Advent of Christ had occurred.

The Second Advent of the Holy Spirit occurs at the beginning of the Millennium after the Second Advent of Jesus Christ.

Guide - fut-act-ind - odegeo = the Holy Spirit would guide them with the interpretation of the formation of the New Testament canon and the ministry of God the Holy Spirit as your mentor-teacher of Church-age doctrine.

The unfinished message of our Lord Jesus Christ found in the epistles of the New Testament.

It took resurrection, ascension and session, and then God the Holy Spirit was sent as a personal mentor to all believers, but used only by those who are positive toward doctrine.

a. You cannot glorify God unless the Holy Spirit is your mentor.

b. You cannot fulfill the spiritual mechanics of God’s plan unless the Holy Spirit is your mentor.

Point 6. The first part of the Holy Spirit’s mentorship is the mechanics for the doctrine of inspiration.

Inspired - theopneustos = God-breathed.

God the Holy Spirit as the mentor provided certain information to the human authors of Scripture, and this information was exhaled into the canon of the New Testament.

The human authors inhaled the Holy Spirit’s message and exhaled that message into the New Testament.

God the Holy Spirit, our mentor, actually provided information for the human authors in that first generation between 33 and 96 A.D.

1. God the Holy Spirit so supernaturally directed the human authors of the New Testament to put in writing our Lord’s complete and coherent message to the Church.

2. This message was recorded with perfect accuracy in the original languages of the New Testament.

3. Our Mentor, God the Holy Spirit did so in a supernatural way without waiving their intelligence, their individuality, their personal feelings, their literary style, or any other human factor of expression.

The exhale simply means that the human writers of the New Testament wrote down in the Greek the completed message of TLJC and the plan of God the Father for all believers.

2PE 1:20-21 “Knowing this first, that all Scripture does not originate from one’s own explanation; for no prophecy was ever made by the design [will or purpose] of mankind, but men communicated from God, being carried along by means of the Holy Spirit.”

The inhale is the ministry of God the Holy Spirit, who communicates to the human author God’s complete and coherent message to that generation and all future generations of history.

The exhale is what the human writers wrote down in their own language and within the framework of their own personality, the divine message to man.

Verbal inspiration applies only to the original languages of Scripture - Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, and therefore, the human writers wrote down in their own language the divine message to mankind under the power of the Holy Spirit.

The word of God is called, HEB 3:7, “The voice of the Spirit.”

The Doctrine of the Mentorship of the Holy Spirit.
Point 1. Definition.
Point 2. Our Lord’s Prophecy of the Mentorship of the Holy Spirit.
Point 3. The Indwelling and Filling of the Spirit Related to Mentorship.

Point 4. God the Holy Spirit as our mentor is our teacher of the word of God.

PSA 81:10 “I, the Lord, am your God, Who brought you up from the land of Egypt [bondage]; Open your mouth wide and I will fill it.”

If God the Holy Spirit is not your mentor in relationship to the teaching ministry of the word of God, then you are a loser believer.

The Lord had said to them, “You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.”
Paul said, “Stand fast therefore in the freedom wherewith Christ has made you free.”

The First Advent of the Holy Spirit occurs at the beginning of the Church-age after the First Advent of Christ had occurred.

The Second Advent of the Holy Spirit occurs at the beginning of the Millennium after the Second Advent of Jesus Christ.

Guide - fut-act-ind - hodegeo = the Holy Spirit would guide them with the interpretation of the formation of the New Testament canon and the ministry of God the Holy Spirit as your mentor-teacher of Church-age doctrine.

The unfinished message of our Lord Jesus Christ found in the epistles of the New Testament.

It took resurrection, ascension and session and then God the Holy Spirit was sent as a personal mentor to all believers but used only by those who are positive toward doctrine.

a. You cannot glorify God unless the Holy Spirit is your mentor because “He glorifies TLJC.”

b. You cannot fulfill the spiritual mechanics of God’s plan unless the Holy Spirit is your mentor because He gives you the power, ACT 1:8; EPH 5:18; GAL 5:16.

When a perfect plan exists there must be a perfect power to execute it since we are imperfect persons.

Point 5. The first part of the Holy Spirit’s mentorship for the Church-age believer is the mechanics for the doctrine of inspiration.

Inspired - theopneustos = God-breathed.

God the Holy Spirit as the mentor provided certain information to the human authors of Scripture, and this information was exhaled into the canon of the New Testament.

The human authors inhaled the Holy Spirit’s message by perceiving and having it metabolized followed by the application of doctrine, and they exhaled that message into the New Testament.

God the Holy Spirit, our mentor, actually provided information for the human authors in that first generation between 33 and 96 A.D.

1. God the Holy Spirit so supernaturally directed the human authors of the New Testament to put in writing our Lord’s complete and unified message to the Church.

2. This message was recorded with perfect accuracy in the original languages of the New Testament ONLY.

3. Our Mentor, God the Holy Spirit did so in a supernatural way without waiving their intelligence, their individuality, their literary style, or any other human factor of expression.

The exhale simply means that the human writers of the New Testament wrote down in the Greek the completed message of TLJC and the plan of God the Father for all believers = the doctrine of verbal plenary inspiration.

2PE 1:20-21 Knowing this first, that all Scripture does not originate from one’s own explanation; for no prophecy was ever made by the design [will or purpose] of mankind, but men communicated from God, being carried along by means of the Holy Spirit.

The inhale is the ministry of God the Holy Spirit, who communicates to the human author God’s complete and finished message to that generation and all future generations of history.

While the writers of Scripture had other messages for their generations, only what God wanted and what was pertinent to all generations was actually recorded and preserved.

HEB 3:7 “The voice of the Spirit.”
HEB 4:12 “The word of God.”
1CO 2:16 “the mind of Christ.”

JER 1:9 “Behold, I have put My Words in your mouth.”
Acts 28:28 “The Holy Spirit rightfully spoke to Isaiah”

Point 6. God the Holy Spirit as Our Mentor Prays for Us.

Parakleton = a helper, someone to assist, a mentor, guide, teacher, counselor of every individual believer.

It is necessary that He pray for all of us because we do not know how to pray, and often we do not have the necessary information to pray under certain circumstances.

Pres-mid-ind - sunantilambanomai = to aid, to help in obtaining something, lend someone a helping hand, render assistance, support, give some help in time of need.

The Holy Spirit has a phenomenal prayer ministry for believers when they do not know how to pray, do not know what they need, or are in terrible state of confusion under pressure.

God the Holy Spirit does not help where He is not wanted, except in the time of special need.

We always pray on the basis of our desires rather than using the power options and spiritual skills.

Knowledge is essential especially when it is knowledge concerning your eternal destiny.

JAM 4:3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures.

“We do not know” - perf-act-ind - oida = No one truly knows how to pray as they should.

God does not groan; this is an anthropopathism, ascribing to God a human characteristic which God does not actually possess.

It is comforting to know that when you are totally irrational, mixed up and confused, and all you can do is groan, God the Holy Spirit lends a helping hand.

Because we have related prayer to our personal desires and lust pattern, we have acquired a false value with regard to prayer and Bible doctrine in general; therefore, both our lives and our prayers fail.

HEB 7:24-25 On the other hand, He abides forever; consequently, He holds His priesthood permanently. Therefore, also, He is able to deliver completely those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for us.

Many times we pray under pressure or stress.

We fail to concentrate on doctrine in the power of the Spirit which reflects our failure to concentrate in prayer in the power of this same Holy Spirit.

“For the saints” - preposition huper + genitive plural of advantage - hagios - members of the Royal Family of God = “as a substitute for you.”

When you know that you should be praying and you are motivated to pray but you do not know “how to” or “what to” pray for,
God the Holy Spirit, your MENTOR, prays for you.

WHAT IT MEANS TO BE INITIATED INTO THE SECRET OF THE MYSTERY, PART 29. INTRODUCTION TO THE BAPTISM OF THE SPIRIT. JOH 14:16-20; EPH 4:4-5; 1CO 12:13; 1CO 1:12-17; 2CO 5:17

What it means to be initiated into the secret of the mystery. Part 29. Introduction to the baptism of the Spirit.

Leave - fut-act-ind - aphiemi = to depart, to leave behind, to forsake, to let alone.

Orphans - orphanous = without help, fatherless, without a teacher, guide, guardian.

HEB 13:5 “I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you,”

The basic help - God the Holy Spirit is the person.
Bible doctrine is the substance.

“I will come” - “I will come face to face with you” - pros proV" + accusative personal pronoun humas - u'" = face to face with you = the Rapture of the Church.

“I will come face to face with you.”

He is going to be gone for an indefinite period of time, but He is going to meet us face to face, not on the earth, but in the air,
1TH 4:13-17; 1CO 15:51-57.

“Little while” - adverb mikron - micrometer, microscope = a short time, a little time.

Behold - theoreo = to discern, consider, to view mentally, to study attentively; it denotes the careful observation of details.

If this was seeing Christ in resurrection, talking simply about His resurrection = blepo or horao - seeing him literally for a glance or for a long time.

We will have a body exactly like His, PHI 3:21.

When Jesus says He is in the Father, we go back to His oneness and equality with the essence of the Father.

Humeis en emoi - u'" e*n e*moiV - “you are in Me,” = a radical change different from the first time in all history, Jesus Christ is in God, and you are in Christ.

One thing about you that is perfect right now - through the baptism of the Spirit you are in union with Christ.

Christianity is not a religion, it is a relationship, and the basis of that relationship is that Christ is God, and we are in Christ.

In the early church, prior to the completion of the canon of Scripture, water baptism was a legitimate way of teaching the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

ACT 1:5 for John baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.

JOH 14:20 In that day you shall know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.

The new spiritual species is designed for unprecedented availability and delegation of divine power.

What you can do in the energy of your flesh cannot make you a new creature in Christ Jesus.

1. Pre-salvation influences, which may continue if there is no perception of doctrine and spiritual growth.

2. Our position in Adam and resultant spiritual death, ROM 5:12.
1CO 15:22 “In Adam all die; in Christ shall all be made alive.”

3. The old sin nature.
ROM 6:7 for he who has died [with Christ through baptism] is freed from the sin nature.

The old sin nature has lost its power; you can only give it back its power experientially through the function of your own negative volition.

4. The “old things” include genetic, environmental, and volitional handicaps.

LUK 12:20 You fool! This very night your soul (could be) required of you;

LUK 9:25 For what is a man profited if he gains the whole world, and loses or forfeits himself?

5. The function of human power in Satan’s cosmic system.

6. People emphasis taking priority over God emphasis.

1. The baptism of the Spirit.
2. The PPOG.
3. The unique equality factors in the PPOG.

4. Our very own portfolio of invisible assets prepared for us by the omnipotence of God the Father.

5. Our unique royal commissions of royal priesthood and royal ambassadorship.

6. The unique mystery doctrine.
7. The indwelling of all three persons of the Trinity.
8. The unique availability of divine power.

9. Understanding that we live in a dispensation of no prophecy, only historical trends.
10. This is the dispensation of invisible heroes.

New - kainos = new in kind, new in species.

Throughout the Church-age, the baptism of the Holy Spirit is the basis for forming the Royal Family of God and the universal body of Christ.

WHAT IT MEANS TO BE INITIATED INTO THE SECRET OF THE MYSTERY, PART 30. THE BAPTISM OF THE SPIRIT, LEARNING HOW TO LIVE IN NEWNESS OF LIFE. JOH 14:8-20; EPH 4:4-5; 1CO 12:12-13; ROM 6:3-5

Robert McLaughlin Bible Ministries

What it means to be initiated into the secret of the mystery. Part 30. The baptism of the Spirit, learning how to live in newness of life.

Sunday, March 13, 2005

“I am in My Father” = His oneness and equality with the essence of God the Father.

Jesus Christ is in God, and you are in Christ = your position in Christ and the doctrine of positional truth, a mystery doctrine of the Church-age.

“Baptism” does not refer to water, it means identification or association.

Homer wrote of the giant Ulysses who took a piece of hot metal and rammed it into Cyclops’ one eye, and called it “baptizing.”

Homer’s Odyssey, book 9, used baptism for hot metal identified with water when a smith dipped a piece of hot iron into water.
Xenophen said that the Spartans baptized their spears by putting them into a bowl of blood.

Euripides used the word for a ship identified with the bottom of the sea when it sank.

“Baptize” in the classical Greek meant to identify one thing with another thing so that the characteristic of the original thing was changed into another characteristic by what was identified with it.

1. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is a real baptism, an actual identification, in which God the Holy Spirit, at the moment we believe in Christ, enters the new believer into union with Christ.

Your body has many parts - limbs, organs, cells - but no matter how many parts you can name, you are still one body.

2. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is the means of forming the Royal Family of God during the Church-age.

2CO 5:17 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new [spiritual] species. The old things have lost their power; behold, new things have come.”

3. This intimate union with Christ is called positional sanctification or the sanctification of the body, the church,EPH 5:25-27.

4. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is not an experience, 1CO 12:13 cf 1CO 12:30, all are baptized.

5. There is only one baptism that unifies the Royal Family of God, the baptism of the Spirit, EPH 4:4-5.

“Newness of life” = our being a new spiritual species and Royal Family of God.

JOH 10:10 The thief comes only to steal, and kill, and destroy; I came that they might have life, and might have {it} abundantly.

3JO 1:2 Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers.

“You are a new creation,” GAL 6:15.
You are a new spiritual species, 2CO 5:17.
You are the child of the King, ROM 8:15.

You are a member of the Royal family, REV 19:12.
You are a royal priest, 1PE 2:5.
You are a royal ambassador, 2CO 5:20.

You are an heir to the throne, ROM 8:17.
You are the body of Christ, ROM 12:5.
You are the future bride of Christ, REV 19:7.

PRO 23:7 For as he thinks within himself, so he is.

Through the baptism of the Holy Spirit you are a new spiritual species in Christ, and you can live in newness of life.

All of us who are believers, are indwelt by the living God, in the person and the presence of the Holy Spirit.

2CO 5:20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ,

Keep on learning.

When you and I study the Scriptures, we get God’s word into our minds and our hearts.

You stop worrying about things, you stop fretting about things, you are no longer anxious, and your fears disappear,
MAT 6:25, PHI 4:6.

Your body functions best when you are not full of stress, fear, anxiety and frustration, and all the things that so many people go through in life.

If you desire to live in this new nature, this new spiritual species and be filled with this abundant life, this newness of life that you have been baptized into, keep loving.

Anyone who understands that God loves them unconditionally, when you are able to grasp that truth and make it a part of your thinking and your everyday living, you are going to begin to live in this newness of life.

ROM 8:31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?

HEB 13:6 so that we confidently say, “The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid. What shall man do to me?”

All of us need to be lovers at heart, for the simple reason, that is who God is, 1JO 4:8.

Bitterness affects your body.
ISA 3:9 The expression of their faces bears witness against them. And they display their sin like Sodom; They do not {even} conceal it. Woe to them! For they have brought evil on themselves.

HEB 12:15 See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God; that no root of bitterness springing up causes trouble, and by it many be defiled;

Some other emotions have replaced love, like self-centeredness or jealousy or anger.

If you want to enjoy life and live in this new nature, this new spiritual species and be filled with this abundant life, this newness of life that you have been baptized into, keep laughing.

PSA 2:4 He who sits in the heavens laughs,

You have too much room in the house and not enough in the medicine cabinet.
You get your exercise acting as pallbearer for your friends who exercised.
Your back goes out more than you do.

You finally got your head together, now your body is falling apart.
You don’t care where your wife goes, just so you don’t have to go along.
It takes twice as long to look half as good.
People call at 9 PM and ask, “Did I wake you?”

The clothes you have put away until they come back in style - have come back in style.
The pharmacist has become your new best friend.
You start video taping daytime game shows.

You quit trying to hold your stomach in, no matter who walks into the room.
Your idea of a night out is sitting on the patio.
You look for your glasses for half-an-hour, then find they have been on your head all the time.

You wake up, looking like your driver’s license picture.
Happy hour is a nap.
You wonder how you could be over the hill when you don’t remember being on top of it.
Getting lucky means you find your car in the parking lot.

Your idea of weight lifting is standing up.
Your secrets are safe with your friends because they can’t remember them either.
You have a party and the neighbors don’t even realize it.
“Getting a little action” means you don’t need to take a laxative.
You are cautioned to slow down by the doctor instead of by the police.

ECC 3:4 - there’s a time to laugh;

WHAT IT MEANS TO BE INITIATED INTO THE SECRET OF THE MYSTERY, PART 31. THE BAPTISM OF THE SPIRIT, HOW YOU BECOME HIS ROYAL FAMILY. JOH 14:20; ROM 8:1,38-39; 1CO 12:12-13,27-30

Robert McLaughlin Bible Ministries

What it means to be initiated into the secret of the mystery. Part 31. The baptism of the Spirit, how you became His royal family.

Wednesday, March 16, 2005

“In that day” = beginning on the day of Pentecost, the beginning of the Church-age.

“I am in My Father” = His oneness and equality with the essence of God the Father.

“You in Me” = your position in Christ by means of the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the doctrine of positional truth, a mystery doctrine of the Church-age.

Baptism - baptizo = identification or association.

1. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is a real baptism, an actual identification, in which God the Holy Spirit, at the moment we believe in Christ, enters the new believer into union with Christ; 1CO 12:13.

2. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is the means of forming the Royal Family of God during the Church-age, 2CO 5:17.

3. This intimate union with Christ is called positional sanctification or the sanctification of the body, the church,EPH 5:25-27.

4. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is not an experience; 1CO 12:13, all are baptized.

5. There is only one baptism that unifies the Royal Family of God, the baptism of the Spirit, EPH 4:4-5.

6. The many references to the baptism of the Holy Spirit are often found in the preposition phrase - “en + the locative of Christos” = “in Christ.”

ROM 6:11 - newness of life in Christ.
ROM 8:1 - no condemnation in Christ Jesus.
ROM 12:5 - we are one body in Christ.
1CO 1:2 - sanctified in Christ Jesus.
2CO 5:17 - new spiritual species in Christ.

GAL 3:28 - all are one in Christ Jesus.
EPH 1:3 - spiritual blessings in Christ.
EPH 2:6 - seated us in Christ Jesus.
COL 1:28 - complete in Christ.
Perfect righteousness - 2CO 5:21.

Destiny - EPH 1:5.
Sonship - 2TI 2:1.
Heirship - ROM 8:16-17.
Priesthood - HEB 10:10-14.
Royalty (Kingship) - 2PE 1:11.

1CO 15:22 “In Adam all die; so also in Christ shall all be made alive.”

7. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is related to the Church-age only.

8. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is not the function of any spiritual gift, as alleged by the holy roller heresy, which equates the baptism of the Holy Spirit with speaking in tongues.

9. Because of the universality of the baptism of the Holy Spirit provided for all Church-age believers, it is not in any sense experiential.

Any time God uses His divine power, whether it is the omnipotence of God the Father, Son, or Holy Spirit, it excludes any form of experiential cooperation.

“Were baptized” - aor-pass-ind - baptizo = we receive the baptism, we do not do a thing for it.

10. The baptism of the Holy Spirit was needed because our Lord Jesus Christ as battlefield royalty had no royal family.

His first royal title = “Son of God.” The members of His royal family are God the Father and God the Holy Spirit with whom He has eternal and infinite coexistence.

His second royal title is “Son of David,” and His royal family is the dynasty of David. As Jewish royalty, our Lord fulfills the Davidic covenant at the Second Advent.

God the Father interrupted the dispensation of Israel and inserted the Church-age for the calling out (formation and election) of a royal family to accompany our Lord’s third title.

The mechanics for the formation of this royal family is the baptism of the Spirit, begun on the day of Pentecost, which enters all believers of the Church-age into union with Christ.

11. The baptism of the Holy Spirit could not occur until there was the strategic victory of Jesus Christ in the angelic conflict.

There was now a need for a universal priesthood, since every believer was now a target of Satan.

12. The baptism of the Holy Spirit occurred first in Jerusalem and included the gift of tongues to warn the Jews of the coming of the fifth cycle of discipline.

Pentecost was a Feast day - a holiday where Jews from all over the world visited Jerusalem.

MAT 3:11 “As for me, I baptize you with water for repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, and I am not fit to remove His sandals; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.”

1CO 14:21-22, In the Law it is written, “By men of strange tongues and by the lips of strangers I will speak to this people, and even so they will not listen to Me,” says the Lord. So then tongues are for a sign, not to those who believe, but to unbelievers;

13. This union with Christ is a permanent identification which distinguishes Christianity from religion.

In religion, man by man’s efforts seeks to gain the approbation of God, which is a satanic function.

ROM 1:25 For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator,

In Christianity, the believer through union with Christ has a permanent relationship with God.

14. The baptism of the Holy Spirit forms the body of Christ, He being the head, our Lord’s gifts to His body are found in Rom 12; 1Co 12; Eph 4.

1. “Church,” emphasizing the function of the Royal Family of God during this dispensation.

2. “Body of Christ,” emphasizing the utilization of the same divine omnipotence used to sustain the humanity of Christ during the great power demonstration of the hypostatic union.

3. “Bride of Christ,” emphasizing the Royal Family of God after resurrection.

4. “Temple,” EPH 1:20, emphasizing the eternal state.

REV 21:3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, the temple of God is among men, and He shall dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself shall be among them.”

Ephesians emphasizes the position of the Royal Family forever.
Hebrews emphasizes the priesthood of the Royal Family forever.

1. Ephesians emphasizes the position of the Royal Family forever.

2. Hebrews emphasizes the priesthood of the Royal Family forever.
3. Romans emphasizes the objectives of the Royal Family.

4. Colossians emphasizes the lifestyle of the Royal Family.

Positional truth = the believer is positionally with Christ at the right hand of the Father.

Positional truth belongs to all believers regardless of their spiritual status or maturity level.

Because the baptism of the Spirit is not an experience, our royal status is not seen or felt in any experiential way.

Because the baptism of the Spirit is a sovereign work of God, our royalty is not progressive.

Our royalty is not related to our human ability, our good deeds, or any other human approbation system or works.

God is not glorified by our system of human works but is glorified by meeting our every need.

ISA 26:15 Thou hast increased the nation, O Lord, Thou hast increased the nation, Thou art glorified;

ISA 60:21 “Then all your people will be righteous; They will possess the land forever, The branch of My planting, The work of My hands, That I may be glorified.”

PSA 50:15 “And call upon Me in the day of trouble; I shall rescue you, and you will glorify Me.”

Since positional truth or the baptism of the Spirit is a work of God, it is also eternal in nature.

True faith must be based solely on doctrinal or scriptural facts.

ROM 10:17 faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.

Unless our faith is established on facts, it is no more than superstition, speculation or presumption.

Through the baptism of the Spirit you have been made a new spiritual species, the church, the body of Christ, the bride of Christ, the temple of the living God.

It is important for you to understand the baptism of the Spirit because it has to change your life and make it much more meaningful and full of happiness.

Our faith or belief stood directly on the fact of the death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,1CO 15:1-4.

“Stand” –
1CO 16:13 Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.
“Walk” –
2CO 5:7 for we walk by faith, not by sight –
Live” –
GAL 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and delivered Himself up for me.

COL 2:6 As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him,

Impressions and emotions have nothing do with faith.

When it comes to the baptism of the Spirit, you have been made a new spiritual species, the church, the body of Christ, the bride of Christ, the temple of the living God.

Faith must be based upon certainty – there must be definite knowledge of God’s purpose and will.

Faith is not a “force” that we exercise or a “striving to believe” that something shall be, thinking that if we believe hard enough it will come to pass.

Faith needs facts to rest upon.

Real faith is always increased by opposition, while false confidence is damaged and discouraged by it.

REV 12:10 – Satan is called the accuser of our brethren.

There can be no steadfastness apart from immovable facts.

Instead of desiring no trials before victory, or no exercise for patience, we should be willing to take them from God’s hand as a means for our spiritual growth.

PHI 1:6 For I am confident of this very thing, that He who has begun in you an absolute good work will complete it until the day of Christ Jesus.

PHI 2:13 for it is God [the Holy Spirit] who is at work in you, both to will [give you motivation] and to work [He gives you the ability to execute] above and beyond His good pleasure.

ROM 8:29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the first-born among many brethren;
1TH 5:24 Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass.

Trials, obstacles, difficulties, and sometimes defeats, are the very power of faith to make you realize that through the baptism of the Spirit you have been made a new spiritual species, the church, the body of Christ, the bride of Christ, the temple of the living God.

Faith is dependence upon God, and this God-dependence only begins when self-dependence ends.

Self-dependence only comes to its end for most of us when sorrow, suffering, affliction, broken plans and hopes bring us to that place of self-helplessness and defeat.

JOH 3:30 “He must increase, but I must decrease.”
1CO 15:31 “I die daily.”

2CO 4:16 Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day.

It is a great thing to learn that faith is simple dependence upon the character and nature of God.

HEB 10:38 But My righteous one shall live by faith;

The more you trust Him in your sorrows or adversities and problems, the more you will be attached to Him and drawn away from the place where the sorrows are, and to the place where He is.

COL 3:2 Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.
We cannot trust anyone further than we know him.

Most believers have a difficult time realizing and facing up to the fact that God does not hurry in His development of our Christian life.

The new believer often begins and continues to grow for some time at a fast rate but this will not continue if there is to be healthy growth and ultimate maturity.

In most instances when it seems likes you are not going forward and declension begins to set in, it is not, as so many think, a matter of backsliding.

God will set people aside after their fast start so that their self-confidence may die down.

We must get to know ourselves and that we have no strength.

Since the Christian way of life matures and becomes fruitful by the principle of growth, 2PE 3:18, rather than by struggle and experiences, much time is involved.

PHI 3:12 Not that I have already obtained it [the resurrection life or the ultra supergrace status], or have already reached the objective, but I continue pressing on that I may attain that [or overtake that, or gain that, arrive at the objective] on account of which I was overtaken by Christ Jesus.

PHI 3:13 Brethren [members of the Royal Family of God], I evaluate myself as not yet having attained the objective [ultra-supergrace or the ultimate objective in time, living in resurrection life]; but one thing I concentrate upon: constantly forgetting the things that lie behind and pursuing vigorously to what lies ahead,

PHI 3:14 I keep on pressing on toward the objective for the purpose of the reward belonging to the upward call of God [Father], by means of Christ Jesus.

What it means to be initiated into the secret of the mystery. Part 33. The baptism of the Spirit and the signature guarntee from God the Father.

Through the baptism of the Spirit you have been made a new spiritual species, the church, the body of Christ, the bride of Christ, the temple of the living God.

Our eternal security as members of the Royal Family is based on the sealing ministry of God the Holy Spirit.

The Spirit is in our heart as a pledge, because you cannot understand the filling of the Spirit controls the heart and is given by God as a pledge or down payment of better things to come.

You cannot understand that the ministry of the Spirit is given the way that it is, unless you have the appropriate doctrine in your soul.

“Sealed” – noun – sphragizo = to set a seal upon something or to mark with a seal.

1. It was used in the ancient world for business transactions or business contracts.

The work for salvation is totally finished, JOH 17:4; JOH 19:30.

MAL 3:6 For I, the Lord, do not change; therefore you, O sons of Jacob, are not consumed.

1SA 15:29 And also the Glory of Israel will not lie or change His mind; for He is not a man that He should change His mind.

2. Sphragizo or the seal was also used for a sign of ownership upon horses and chariots.

1CO 6:19-20 – your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.

3. Sphragizo was used for a signature for cashing checks.

4. Sealing was used to protect something that was valuable like a treasury or library.

The Old Testament saints were called the “apple of His eye,” ZEC 2:8.
MAL 3:17 “We are His jewels.”
ISA 62:3 “We are His crown of glory.”

5. Sphragizo was used to seal fruit as a sign of approval.

He has presented us “a glorious church,”
EPH 5:27, not having spot or wrinkle.

2TI 2:19 Nevertheless, the firm foundation of God stands, having this seal, “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of the Lord abstain from evil.”

Since sealing was used in the ratification of treaties, it becomes analogous to the doctrine of reconciliation, in which man is reconciled to God through the death of His son.

There are two guarantees of our portfolio of invisible assets: the sealing ministry of the Holy Spirit at salvation and the indwelling of Christ as the Shekinah glory.

2CO 1:21-22 Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and anointed us is God, who also sealed us and gave us the Spirit in our hearts as a pledge.

Pledge – noun arraboon = pledge, a down-payment in advance as security for the rest: a guarantee, a guarantee for the completion of a transaction or pledge.

Our security from the baptism of the Spirit is also based upon the character of God.

Through the baptism of the Holy Spirit, God has put His “seal” on us.

“Does God fully accept me?”
“If so, upon what basis does He do so?”

ROM 5:1 Therefore having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

COL 1:20 and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven.

When you are not walking in the Spirit you are in the flesh: you have turned to the old man which was crucified on the cross, ROM 6:6.

You have to be restored to fellowship, and when you are, you find your acceptance with God unchanged and unchangeable.

EPH 1:6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved.

Our satisfaction can only spring from and rest in His satisfaction.
It is from God to us, not from us to God.

When the Holy Spirit reasons with man, He does not reason from what man is for God, but from what God is to man.

Thank God, He has accepted us in His Son, and upon this fact we must rest our faith.

As in justification, our acceptance is by grace alone.

Grace, once bestowed, is not withdrawn: for God knew all the human failures and sins beforehand: His action was independent of them, not dependent upon them.

To believe, and to consent to be loved while unworthy, that is the great secret to the spiritual life.
To refuse to make resolutions and vows; for that is to trust in the flesh.

To expect to be blessed, though realizing more and more your lack of worth.
To rely on God’s chastening [child training] hand as a mark of His kindness.

To hope to be better for acceptance is to fail to see yourself in Christ only.
To be disappointed with yourself, is to have believed in yourself.

To be discouraged is unbelief – as to God’s purpose and plan of blessing for you.
To be proud, is to be blind! For we have no standing before God, in ourselves.

The lack of divine blessing, therefore, comes from unbelief, and not from failure of devotion.
To preach devotion first, and blessing second, is to reverse God’s order, and preach law, not grace.

Fear, too, has a place in Christianity, but God has higher and more effective motivations than fear, and one of these is love.

2TH 2:16-17, Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us eternal comfort and good hope by grace, comfort and strengthen your hearts in every good work and word.

WHAT IT MEANS TO BE INITIATED INTO THE SECRET OF THE MYSTERY, PART 34. THE BAPTISM OF THE SPIRIT AND THE ANALOGY OF THE HEAD AND THE BODY. EPH 2:16; 4:4-5; 5:30-32; COL 1:24; 2:19

What it means to be initiated into the secret of the mystery. Part 34. The baptism of the spirit and the analogy of the head and the body. .

The analogy of the head and the body.

TLJC has three royal titles:
Son of God – Father, HS
Son of David – Davidic dynasty
King of kings and Lord of lords – Church

Since TLJC is the Head, the head is incomplete without the body and therefore, the humanity of Christ is incomplete without a Royal Family for Him.

The fulfillment of the head completing the body and the body completing the head is found in the prophecy by our Lord –
JOH 14:20 “You in Me and I in you.”

All Church-age believers are formed into one body and one Royal Family, EPH 2:16; EPH 4:4-5; EPH 5:30-32;COL 1:24; COL 2:19.

COL 1:24 Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I do my share on behalf of His body(which is the church).

“Streams of living water will flow from within him” = prophecy of the filling of the Spirit – residence, function, and momentum inside the PPOG during the Church-age only.

The great power demonstration of the Church-age, which includes the baptism of the Holy Spirit, could not begin until the glorification of Jesus Christ at the right hand of the Father.

First came the head in the great power demonstration of the hypostatic union.
Then came the body in the great power demonstration of the Church-age.

It forms the church universal, the body, the Royal Family of God, the new spiritual species.

1CO 15:22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all shall be made alive.

GEN 1:26 God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness;”

So that there could be communion, fellowship and cooperation between them; with God sovereign and man subject to His will, which is perfect freedom.

As a result he immediately became self-centered instead of God-centered; dead to God who is the source of all life, and dead in trespasses and sins,
EPH 2:1.

GEN 5:3 When Adam had lived one hundred and thirty years, he became the father of a son in his own likeness, according to his image,

He brought forth a sinful, ungodly, self-centered race, born “dead in trespasses and sins,” ROM 5:12-19.

1CO 15:45 So also it is written, “The first man, Adam, became a living soul.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.

Our natural birth made us members of the fallen, sinful first-Adamic race.
Our spiritual birth made us a member of the new godly race as the “new birth.”

COL 3:3-4 For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.

ROM 5:19 For as through the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the One the many will be made righteous.

Being born into Him through faith, we became “partners with the divine nature,” 2PE 1:4.

As the Lord Jesus is allowed to express Himself through us, then the world will see “Christ in you, the hope of glory,” COL 1:27.

1CO 15:49 And just as we have borne the image of the earthy [first], we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

Here is the “good” for which God is working all things together – His original purpose of making us in His own image, which is centered and expressed in His Son, Christ, who is our life.

Stage 1. GAL 4:19 – Christ being formed in your body [soul structure] –
Christ is formed in us as we develop a soul structure to think with God.

Stage 2. Spiritual autonomy – EPH 3:17 – Christ is said to be at home in your hearts or right-lobes.

Stage 3. Spiritual maturity – PHI 1:20 – Christ exalted or glorified in your body.

When we see that all things are working together for good to make us more and more like the Lord Jesus, we will not be frustrated and upset when some of these things are hard or difficult to understand, and often contain an element of death.

MAT 26:42 “My Father, if this cannot pass away unless I drink it, Thy will be done.”

JOB 13:15 “Though He slay me, I will trust in Him.”

2CO 3:18 But we all, with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.

One of God’s most effective means in accomplishing His purpose for our lives is the process of failure.

Failure where self is concerned in our Christian life and service is allowed and often engineered by God in order to turn us completely from ourselves to His source for our life – Christ.

GAL 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me;

God has a natural law in operation to the effect that we are conformed to that on which we center our interest and love.

If I am to be like Him, then God in His grace must do it, and the sooner I come to recognize it the sooner I will be delivered from another form of bondage.

Don’t try to be like Him, just look at Him.

Come to the Word for one purpose and that is to meet the Lord – not to get your mind crammed full of information.

PHI 2:13 for it is God [the Holy Spirit] who is at work in you, both to will [give you motivation] and to work [He gives you the ability to execute] above and beyond His good pleasure.

2CO 4:11For we who live are constantly being delivered over to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh.

Self is the fleshly, carnal life of the first Adam, dead in trespasses and sins, EPH 2:1; thoroughly corrupt before God, 5:19-21; the life in which there is no good thing in the sight of God, ROM 7:18.

Paul, with God’s “Not I, but Christ,” GAL 2:20, was the total truth.

Introspection is not involved here, the Holy Spirit uses experiential revelation.

JOH 12:24 Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains by itself alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.

2CO 4:11-12, We who live are constantly being delivered over to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. So death works in us, but life in you.

The first step toward getting out of the struggle of the seventh chapter and into the victory of the eighth, is to realize the insufficiency and death of the self-life.

Self-revelation precedes divine revelation – for both spiritual birth and spiritual growth.

The believer who is going through struggle and failure is the Christian who is being carefully and lovingly handled by his Lord in a very personal way.

PHI 3:10 come to know Him, and the power of [behind] His resurrection and the participation of His sufferings, being conformed to His death;

WHAT IT MEANS TO BE INITIATED INTO THE SECRET OF THE MYSTERY, PART 35. THE BAPTISM OF THE SPIRIT AND OUR POSITION IN CHRIST. GAL 3:26-28; ROM 8:28-31; ROM 7:14-24

What it menas to be initiated into the secret of the mystery. Part 35. The baptism of the Spirit and our position in Christ. .

Friday, March 25, 2005

The baptism of the Holy Spirit is also related to the analogy the head and the body.

1CO 12:13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.

There is also an analogy but also a difference between your old position in Adam versus your new position in Christ.

The baptism of the Holy Spirit is one of the most important things that happened to us at salvation because it forms the church universal, the body, the Royal Family of God, the new spiritual species.

PHI 3:1 On the one hand, to be writing the same doctrines to you is not troublesome to me, while on the other hand, it is a safeguard or a basis of security for you.

When we see that God is working all things in our life together for good to make us more and more like TLJC, we will not be discouraged or filled with guilt even though some of those things are our failures, sins, and shortcomings.

PHI 1:6 For I am confident of this very thing, that He who has begun in you an absolute good work will complete it until the day of Christ Jesus.

1TH 5:24 Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass.

It is one thing to know “WHAT” God’s purpose is for our lives, but it is another to know “HOW” He is accomplishing this purpose.

EPH 4:22-24, in reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit, and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new self, which in {the likeness of} God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.

COL 3:10 and have put on the new self who is being renewed to a true knowledge according to the image of the One who created him.

One of God’s most effective means in accomplishing His purpose for our lives is the process of failure to point out insufficiency of self.

He wants us to experience the failure of our position in Adam so that we live in our new position in Christ, as members of the body of Christ.

ISA 64:6 For all of us have become like one who is unclean, And all our righteous deeds are like a filthy garment;

Failure where self is concerned in our Christian life and service is allowed and often engineered by God in order to turn us completely from ourselves to His source for our life – Christ.

As we consistently concentrate on Him who is revealed to us in the Word of God, TLJC, then the Holy Spirit will quietly and gracefully change the center and source of our lives from self to Christ.

GAL 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me;

God has a natural law in operation to the effect that we are conformed to that on which we center our interest and love upon.

In the USA, through radio, TV, movies, music, sports, etc. these things contribute to a rising generation of young people who try to emulate their entertainment heroes.

If we are attracted to this present evil world, we become increasingly carnal and worldly.

If we pamper ourselves and live for self, we become more and more self-centered; but when we look to TLJC, we become more and more like Him.

If I am to be like Him, then God in His grace must do it, and the sooner I come to recognize that principle, the sooner I will be delivered from slavery and bondage.

Just withdraw from the self-improvement garbage and nonsense and get out of it as quick as possible.

Don’t try to be “like Him,” just “behold Him.”

MAT 11:28-30, “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you shall find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My load is light.”

Come to the Word for one purpose and that is to meet the Lord, not to get your mind crammed full of information.

PHI 2:13 for it is God [the Holy Spirit] who is at work in you, both to will [give you motivation] and to work [He gives you the ability to execute] above and beyond His good pleasure.

2CO 4:11 For we who live [the spiritual life] are constantly being delivered over to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh.

Self is the fleshly, carnal life of the first Adam, dead in trespasses and sins, EPH 2:1; thoroughly corrupt before God, GAL 5:19-21; the life in which there is no good thing in the sight of God, ROM 7:18.

Paul, with God’s “Not I, but Christ,” GAL 2:20, was the total and absolute truth.

In order for any of us to get beyond just knowing about the Lord and enter into a consistent and growing personal fellowship with Him, we must first come to know ourselves.

Life in TLJC = your life as a member of the body of Christ that you have been baptized into.

The first step toward getting out of the struggle of the seventh chapter of Romans and into the victory of the eighth chapter, is to realize the insufficiency and death of the self-life.

This shattering discovery is a prelude to a magnificent series of further discoveries of things which God has designed for our spiritual enrichment.

Self-revelation precedes divine revelation – for both spiritual birth and spiritual growth.

The believer who is going through struggle and failure is the Christian who is being carefully and lovingly handled by his Lord in a very personal way.

PHI 3:10 come to know Him, and the power of [behind] His resurrection and the participation of His sufferings, being conformed to His death;

These are the type of individuals who realize that people, circumstances, etc. are never the cause of failure.

All spiritual life and growth is based upon the principle of position.

It can be summed up in one word: source.

ACT 17:28 for in Him we live and move and exist,

Through the exercise of faith, our eternal position (source) affects our daily condition, but in no way does our condition affect that heavenly position.

COL 3:1 If then you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.

GEN 1:11 “Let the earth sprout vegetation, plants yielding seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit after their kind, with seed in them, on the earth”; and it was so.

ROM 8:29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the first-born among many brethren;

1JO 3:2 Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we shall be. We know that, when He appears, we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him just as He is.

The position, the source of life, of every believer as a grain of wheat, is God’s firstborn Grain of Wheat, our Lord Jesus Christ.

The principle of position, both natural and spiritual, is that life in its fullness and completeness is resident in the source, and is transmitted through birth and growth.

Resurrection life is explicitly after its kind; it is “conformed to the image” of its positional source.

The Lord Jesus Christ as the Father’s Grain of Wheat took our place at Calvary, and His death and resurrection brought forth the “much fruit” of similar grains of wheat, believers predestined to be conformed to the image of God’s Son.

In the natural realm, the life that is already complete in the vine is increasingly supplied to the growing branches.

The branch is not only a product and a living part of the vine, but that which is produced in the branch is also the fruit of the vine.

The chief responsibility of the branch is to rest just where it was born, to abide in its living position in its living source.

As the believer rests in his position, the life of the Vine (the “fruit of the Spirit”) is manifested in his condition; love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control;

The indwelling Spirit of Christ is the living link between Him in heaven and our spirit here on earth –
1CO 6:17 But the one who joins himself to the Lord is one spirit with Him.

EASTER SPECIAL 2005

Easter Special 2005.

PSA 14:1 The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.”

His name was Saul of Tarsus, later called the apostle Paul, who when he got his education in religion and philosophy, was motivated to kill Christians.
As a zealous Pharisee and an unbeliever, Paul was the persecutor of the Church until his conversion, 1CO 15:9,GAL 1:13-14.

GAL 1:13 For you have heard of my former manner of life in Judaism, how I used to persecute the church of God beyond measure, and tried to destroy it;

GAL 1:14 and I was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my contemporaries among my countrymen, being more extremely zealous for my ancestral traditions.

In genuine humility, Paul wrote that he was the worst sinner who ever lived, and that he was the least of all the apostles.

They were following a “dead” leader, and they were hiding away in caves of the earth talking about this cult of followers called “the way.”

1CO 15:1 Now I make known to you, brethren, the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, in which also you stand,
1CO 15:2 by which also you are saved, if you hold fast the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain.

1CO 15:3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,
1CO 15:4 and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,

1CO 15:5 and that He appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve.
1CO 15:6 After that He appeared to more than five hundred brethren at one time, most of whom remain until now, but some have fallen asleep;
1CO 15:7 then He appeared to James, then to all the apostles;

1CO 15:8 and last of all, as it were to one untimely born, He appeared to me also.
1CO 15:9 For I am the least of the apostles, who am not fit to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

1CO 15:10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me did not prove vain; but I labored even more than all of them, yet not I, but the grace of God with me.

1CO 15:11 Whether then it was I or they, so we preach and so you believed.
1CO 15:12 Now if Christ is preached, that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?

1CO 15:13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, not even Christ has been raised;
1CO 15:14 and if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is vain, your faith also is vain.

1CO 15:15 Moreover we are even found to be false witnesses of God, because we witnessed against God that He raised Christ, whom He did not raise, if in fact the dead are not raised.

1CO 15:16 For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised;
1CO 15:17 and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; YOU ARE STILL IN YOUR SINS.

It means we are all unforgiven.

Life without forgiveness is as pointless, and meaningless, and empty, and torturous as you can imagine, and then some.

This first story is one of hatred and revenge.

In time of trouble, for us to stand around looking upon one another in despair is to say that there is no hope and no help from God.

Since He is risen I’m forgiven.

WHAT IT MEANS TO BE INITIATED INTO THE SECRET OF THE MYSTERY, PART 36. THE INDWELLING OF JESUS CHRIST AS THE SHEKINAH GLORY. JOH 14:19-20; EPH 4:4-6; JOH 17:22-26; JOH 15:4

What it means to be initiated into the secret of the mystery. Part 36. The indwelling of Jesus Christ as the Shekinah glory.

The baptism of the Spirit was the sign of the beginning of the Church-age.
The baptism of the Spirit and the principle of adoption.

The baptism of the Spirit and abiding “in Christ.”
The challenge for the new spiritual species.

“In that day” = beginning on the day of Pentecost, the Church-age.

“He is in the Father” = His oneness and equality with the essence of God the Father.

1. The sealing ministry of the Holy Spirit as a guarantee and a down-payment of the blessing and the security from God.

2. The indwelling of Jesus Christ.

God the Father is said to indwell the believer, EPH 4:6.

The indwelling of Christ as the Shekinah glory is one of the two major guarantees that God has provided for you your very own predesigned plan from eternity past and your escrow blessings within that plan.

“Shekinah” - noun SHAKAN = to dwell.
It refers to the fact that Jesus Christ indwelt certain sacred buildings in Israel.

It was used to express the invisible presence of God with Israel.

“Glory” - KABODH = the visible manifestations of Jesus Christ as a theophany.

He indwelt the Tabernacle, Solomon’s Temple, and Zerubbabel’s Temple.

1. The prophecies of the indwelling of Christ, JOH 14:19-20.
2. The verification of the indwelling of Christ in our Lord’s prayer for the Church in three verses, JOH 17:22-26.

3. The indwelling of Christ as related to the PPOG for the Church-age and how that relates to our escrow blessings, COL 1:25-29.
4. The indwelling of Christ as related to the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, ROM 8:9-11, 1JO 3:23-24, 2CO 6:16.

5. The indwelling of Christ related to the baptism of the Spirit, GAL 2:20.
6. The doctrine of the indwelling of Jesus Christ as a test of your faith or doctrine, 2CO 13:2-6.

Theophanies = TLJC appeared throughout the OT in visible forms such as the angel of Jehovah or the angel of the Lord.

He wrestled with Jacob and permanently injured Jacob, GEN 32:24.

The Lord also appeared to Abraham in his tent as a man, accompanied by two other men and He announced that Sarah, who was past the menopause, was going to become pregnant, Gen 18.

There are also inanimate theophanies of our Lord such as the cloud over the tent or the tabernacle, which was the visible sign that Jesus Christ was dwelling inside of the holy of holies as the Shekinah glory.

The burning bush, or the pillar of fire at night.

Once in history during the dispensation of Israel, TLJC actually dwelt inside of sacred buildings.

JOH 1:14 - He tablenacled or He tented before us.
Skenoo - shachan - Shekinah.

Fut-mid-ind - ginosko.

The indwelling of the Holy Spirit performs one major function while the indwelling of Christ provides some of the greatest motivation in life.

In His humanity, TLJC is seated at the right hand of the Father, but His deity is omnipresent.

His deity was invisible to the crowd who heard this prophecy, but His humanity was very visible.

In the Old Testament, they saw the visible manifestation of TLJC on the outside in the realm of such things like the tabernacle; however, invisible to the outside was TLJC who dwelt in the holy of holies.

The people who heard this magnificent prophecy could see the man, the humanity of Christ, but they could not see the glory, His deity.

GAL 2:20 “I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and delivered Himself up for me.”

COL 1:27 to whom God willed to make known what is the glorious riches of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the confidence of the glory.

In the Old Testament, they saw a theophanies, and an inanimate theophanies, the cloud, said He was there, the pillar of fire said He was there.

The day of the virgin birth of our Lord was the last day any overt manifestation of TLJC existed.

Never again are there theophanies; instead there are Christophanies which are manifestations of the humanity of Christ in resurrection body.

He indwelt the sacred building as a sign of blessing and security in Israel.

Today TLJC is at the right hand of the Father where we cannot see Him until we go to heaven, but in the meantime He also indwells our bodies, invisibly.

Just like the Jews could not see the Shekinah glory in the OT but could see a manifestation of His presence, so we can reveal the Shekinah glory or the indwelling of Christ to the world and to each other through our body, the temple of the living God.

JOH 15:4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, so neither {can} you, unless you abide in Me.

COL 1:27 to whom God willed to make known what is the glorious riches of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the confidence of the glory.

WHAT IT MEANS TO BE INITIATED INTO THE SECRET OF THE MYSTERY, PART 37. THE INDWELLING OF JESUS CHRIST AND THE GLORY OF GOD BEING REVEALED THROUGH YOU. JOH 14:20; 2:11; JOH 11:40; 15:4; 17:22-26; COL 1:25-27

What it means to be initiated into the secret of the mystery. Part 37. The indwelling of Jesus Christ and the glory of God being revealed through you.

a. The sealing ministry of the Holy Spirit as a guarantee and a down-payment of the blessing and the security from God.
b. The indwelling of Jesus Christ.

Shekinah - the invisibility of Christ, the God of Israel, indwelling different forms of manifestations in the Old Testament = a theophany.

These manifestations were to teach, instruct, guide and direct the people of God.

In the Old Testament, they saw a theophany, and an inanimate theophany, the cloud, said He was there, the pillar of fire said He was there.

Today, people cannot see the Shekinah glory in you, but they can see the glory of God being revealed through you.

The day of the virgin birth of our Lord was the last day any overt manifestation of TLJC existed.

Never again are there theophanies, instead there are Christophanies which are manifestations of the humanity of Christ in resurrection body.

He indwelt the sacred building as a sign of blessing and security in Israel.

When the Jews went into the Babylonian captivity, between the two cherub angels in the Temple, something happened - the Shekinah glory left.

HEB 13:5 for He Himself has said, “I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you,”
MAT 28:20 “I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

It is our privilege and responsibility to rest in Him where He is, because that is where we are positioned in Him.

At the same time He abides in us here below, by means of the Spirit.

COL 1:27 to whom God willed to make known what is the glorious riches of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the confidence of the glory.

This is called reciprocal union, we are “in Him,” He is in us, the ultimate oneness.

1PE 1:8 and though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory,

1PE 4:14 If you are reviled for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you.

The glory includes the indwelling of the person of Jesus Christ, the Shekinah glory.

“Hina” introduces a purpose clause = “that” or “in order that.”
Perfected - per-pass-part - teleioo = complete or matured.

“In unity” - preposition eis + accusative neuter singular - numeral “heis.”

Eis + accusative neuter singular - numeral heis = with reference to one.

REV 4:11 “Worthy art Thou, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for Thou didst create all things, and because of Thy will they existed, and were created.”

We have been given the Shekinah glory to indwell our bodies and to fulfill God’s plan and therefore glorify God with His very own glory.

The greatest sacrifice of God the Father was the ultimate sacrifice - He gave His uniquely born Son.

One of at least 15 different reasons for the indwelling of Jesus Christ in your body is a sign that God loves you just as He loved Jesus Christ His son.

1. Personal love for God, the highest motivation in life.
2. Then you will develop impersonal unconditional love for all mankind.

The great objective is to have God’s love in us which will give us the ability to handle any problem in life.

Stewardship - noun okoinomia = dispensation.

Those in Israel had Jesus Christ indwelling their tabernacle, they could not see Him because He was between the cherubs in the holy of holies, but they could see the cloud that covered the tabernacle.

When Jesus Christ came in the flesh, the incarnation, He came as the God-man.

We have the Shekinah glory indwelling humanity in order to achieve impeccability and be qualified to go to the cross and die for our sins.

When the Church-age came we have the Shekinah glory indwelling the body of every believer.

The manifestation or the reflection of His glory was seen in the cloud and the pillar of fire and other theophanies.

While Jesus Christ indwelling our bodies cannot be seen, there are certain conditions in which the manifestations of His glory can be seen.

2CO 3:18 But we all, with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.

He even warned pastors not to make the mistake of mixing dispensations, 2TI 2:15.

1. The baptism of the Spirit.
2. The predesigned plan of God.
3. Mystery doctrine.
4. Escrow blessings.
5 . The equality factor.

6. The royal commissions.
7. The indwelling of the Trinity.
8. The availability of divine power.
9. The absence of prophecy.
10. The principles of becoming a spiritual champion or invisible hero.

Saints - dative of advantage = hagios.

1CO 12:7 But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.

1JO 4:9 By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him.
