What it means to be initiated into the secret of the mystery. Part 27. The Doctrine of the Mentorship of the Holy Spitit.

“Helper” - noun - parakleton = a helper, someone to assist, a mentor, and in our case, mentor describes the ministry of God the Holy Spirit as the paraclete-helper, the guide, the teacher, the counselor of every individual believer.
The Doctrine of the Mentorship of the Holy Spirit.
Point 1. Definition.
The Holy Spirit as our mentor is a metaphor used to describe the ministry of God the Holy Spirit as the paraclete-helper, the guide, the teacher, the counselor of every individual believer.
EPH 4:12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ;
Anointing - noun - chrisma = a special endowment of the Holy Spirit; something smeared on, an ointment - used of the gift of the Holy Spirit as the efficient aid in getting a knowledge of the truth.
Point 2. Our Lord’s Prophecy of the Mentorship of the Holy Spirit.
Paracletos = primarily a helper, a counselor, someone who can instill wisdom into your soul.
“Because He lives with you” - par + personal pronoun humin = the ministry of the Holy Spirit to the disciples during the dispensation of the hypostatic union.
LUK 11:13 “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall {your} heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?”
“And He will be in you” - en + locative plural - personal pronoun humin = the ministry of the Holy Spirit to Church-age believers.
Every member of the Trinity indwells every believer during the Church-age, a radical change from anything in the past and a part of the uniqueness of the Church-age.
Point 3. The Indwelling and Filling of the Spirit Related to Mentorship.
a. The Holy Spirit indwells the body of the believer to create a temple for the indwelling of Christ as a guarantee of blessing. The indwelling of the Holy Spirit in the believer’s body is found in ROM 8:10; 1CO 3:16; 1CO 6:19-20; 2CO 6:16.
1CO 3:16 Do you not know that you are a temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
1CO 6:19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?
2TI 1:13-14, Retain the standard of sound doctrines which you have heard from me, in the faith and love which are in Christ Jesus. Guard, through the Holy Spirit who dwells in us, the treasure [doctrine] which has been entrusted to you.
b. To provide a permanent base for the Holy Spirit’s availability as your mentor.
The indwelling of the Spirit is permanent and not affected by experiential status.
The filling of the Spirit is mandated, EPH 5:18.
GAL 5:16 - “keep walking by means of the Spirit” = the function of the spiritual life.
Point 4. God the Holy Spirit as our mentor is our teacher of the word of God.
Spiritually alive, we have access to everything God’s Spirit is doing, and cannot be judged by unspiritual critics.
The filling of the Holy Spirit plus human I.Q. equals spiritual I.Q. plus the teaching ministry of the Spirit equals the execution of the PPOG.
If God the Holy Spirit is not your mentor in relationship to the teaching ministry of the word of God, then you are a loser believer.
The First Advent of the Holy Spirit occurs at the beginning of the Church-age after the First Advent of Christ had occurred.
The Second Advent of the Holy Spirit occurs at the beginning of the Millennium after the Second Advent of Jesus Christ.
Guide - fut-act-ind - odegeo = the Holy Spirit would guide them with the interpretation of the formation of the New Testament canon and the ministry of God the Holy Spirit as your mentor-teacher of Church-age doctrine.
The unfinished message of our Lord Jesus Christ found in the epistles of the New Testament.
It took resurrection, ascension and session, and then God the Holy Spirit was sent as a personal mentor to all believers, but used only by those who are positive toward doctrine.
a. You cannot glorify God unless the Holy Spirit is your mentor.
b. You cannot fulfill the spiritual mechanics of God’s plan unless the Holy Spirit is your mentor.
Point 6. The first part of the Holy Spirit’s mentorship is the mechanics for the doctrine of inspiration.
Inspired - theopneustos = God-breathed.
God the Holy Spirit as the mentor provided certain information to the human authors of Scripture, and this information was exhaled into the canon of the New Testament.
The human authors inhaled the Holy Spirit’s message and exhaled that message into the New Testament.
God the Holy Spirit, our mentor, actually provided information for the human authors in that first generation between 33 and 96 A.D.
1. God the Holy Spirit so supernaturally directed the human authors of the New Testament to put in writing our Lord’s complete and coherent message to the Church.
2. This message was recorded with perfect accuracy in the original languages of the New Testament.
3. Our Mentor, God the Holy Spirit did so in a supernatural way without waiving their intelligence, their individuality, their personal feelings, their literary style, or any other human factor of expression.
The exhale simply means that the human writers of the New Testament wrote down in the Greek the completed message of TLJC and the plan of God the Father for all believers.
2PE 1:20-21 “Knowing this first, that all Scripture does not originate from one’s own explanation; for no prophecy was ever made by the design [will or purpose] of mankind, but men communicated from God, being carried along by means of the Holy Spirit.”
The inhale is the ministry of God the Holy Spirit, who communicates to the human author God’s complete and coherent message to that generation and all future generations of history.
The exhale is what the human writers wrote down in their own language and within the framework of their own personality, the divine message to man.
Verbal inspiration applies only to the original languages of Scripture - Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, and therefore, the human writers wrote down in their own language the divine message to mankind under the power of the Holy Spirit.
The word of God is called, HEB 3:7, “The voice of the Spirit.”
