In Exodus 15, the children of Israel experienced a powerful lesson that many believers still miss today.
Just three days after celebrating God’s miraculous deliverance at the Red Sea, they arrived at the waters of Marah—only to discover the water was bitter and undrinkable. Their joy quickly turned into complaining, bitterness, and doubt.
But God provided a solution.
The Lord showed Moses a tree, and when it was thrown into the bitter waters, the waters became sweet.
This moment in Scripture is far more than a miracle—it is a prophetic picture of the Cross of Jesus Christ.
Just as the tree was cast into the bitter waters to make them sweet, the Cross was placed into the bitterness of this world to bring redemption, freedom, and spiritual life to mankind.
