ARE YOU JUST SAVED… OR ARE YOU FOLLOWING JESUS? | The Radical Change
What does it really mean to follow Jesus after salvation?
Salvation is a free gift received by faith alone in Christ alone. But discipleship is something different. Discipleship involves growth, surrender, testing, choices, and sometimes a very real cost.
In this message, we look at what Jesus taught about the heart, anger, love, suffering, failure, restoration, and what it means to truly “follow Me.” We’ll walk through the lessons of David, Peter, the Sermon on the Mount, James, 1 Peter, and Luke 14 to see how God uses pressure, correction, and even failure to develop us spiritually.
One of the biggest questions we ask is this:
What is sitting on the throne of your thinking?
Fear?
Bitterness?
Approval?
Emotion?
Self?
Or is the Word of God shaping the way you think, choose, and respond?
Peter walked on water, sank in fear, denied Jesus three times, and failed publicly. Yet his story did not end in failure. Jesus restored him and gave him the same simple command He still gives believers today:
“Follow Me.”
This message is about the radical change that can happen when Christ becomes bigger in our thinking, when doctrine moves from the page into the soul, and when we stop asking only, “What do I want God to do with my life?” and begin asking, “Jesus, what do You want to do with the life You gave me?”
Discipleship is not perfection. It is progress.
It is not earning salvation. It is responding to salvation.
Salvation is the gift.
After salvation begins the journey of a lifetime.
