Predestination Does NOT Mean What You Think

May 22, 2026    Pastor Robert R. McLaughlin

In this message, we examine the biblical doctrine of a Personal Sense of Destiny and how it relates to predestination, the predesigned plan of God, and the believer’s spiritual life.

Through passages such as Romans 8:28–30, Ephesians 1, Psalm 139, and Ephesians 2:10, we discover that God has designed a personal plan for every Church Age believer — a life filled with meaning, purpose, definition, and spiritual fulfillment.

This study also clarifies common misunderstandings about predestination.

Predestination is not the violation of human free will, nor does it mean that God causes sin or evil in our lives.

Instead, it refers to God’s gracious provision and eternal plan for believers to grow in conformity to Jesus Christ while living inside His will.

We also explore:

• The difference between the predesigned plan of God and your personal sense of destiny

• Why God’s plan for your life was established in eternity past

• The relationship between election, predestination, and free will

• How believers discover God’s purpose through doctrine and spiritual growth

• Why true fulfillment is only found inside God’s plan

• The importance of living in your “palace” rather than the cosmic system

This message is a powerful reminder that your life is not random. God thought about you billions of years ago, and through His grace He has provided everything necessary for you to fulfill His purpose and glorify Him.
