The Cross Throughout the Scriptures - Part 12
14. Psalm 2 Takes Us to Calvary.

He opened their minds so that they might understand the Scriptures, how that what was written of Him in the law, the Psalms, and the Prophets must be fulfilled, Luke 24:44-45.

Act 13:33 that God has fulfilled this {promise} to our children in that He raised up Jesus, as it is also written in the second Psalm, “Thou art My Son; today I have begotten Thee.”

Centuries later their cry would be, “Crucify Him, crucify Him” and “Let his blood be upon us and upon our children,”

nashquw = to kiss, to touch gently, to fasten up together, to be equipped together.

1Pe 1:8 and though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with a happiness inexpressible and full of glory,

The kiss of pardon and reconciliation offered to all men through the Cross gave the early Christians the ability to turn despair into joy.

- ASV, KJV, NIV, NKJ -

Psa 2:12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry,

Psa 2:12 kiss His feet, lest He be angry (RSV)

Psa 2:12 Fall down before His Son and kiss His feet (TLB)

The Cross is not only the fountainhead of forgiveness, peace, reconciliation, and eternal life, but also of judgment and eternal loss.
