RELIGION vs. RELATIONSHIP | Sunday Live Lord's Supper

What did Jesus mean when He said, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up" (John 2:19)?

In this Lord's Supper message, we examine one of the most powerful contrasts found in Scripture: religion versus a relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

When Jesus entered the temple and overturned the tables of the money changers, He wasn't attacking sincere worship—He was exposing a religious system that had lost sight of God's purpose. The temple was meant to point people to Christ, but religion had turned it into a marketplace.

From John 2 to John 3, we follow the Lord Jesus Christ as He reveals that the true temple was His own body, points Nicodemus to the necessity of being born again, and shows that salvation is not found through ritual, ceremony, morality, or human effort—but through faith in His finished work on the Cross.

In this message we will discover:

• Why Jesus cleansed the temple

• The meaning of "Destroy this temple"

• Religion vs. relationship with God

• Why you must be born again

• How the Cross makes the new birth possible

• The role of the Holy Spirit in salvation

• Why salvation is by grace through faith alone

• The difference between works and God's free gift

Religion says: "Look what I have done for God."

Christianity says: "Look what God has done for me through Jesus Christ."

Join us as we celebrate the Lord's Supper and remember the One who died and rose again so that whosoever believes in Him would have eternal life.

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life."
