God or People? The Decision Every Believer Must Make
In this message, we continue our study on Problems and Problem Solving by examining one of the most overlooked challenges in the Christian life — placing relationships with people above our relationship with God.
Using Matthew chapter 8, this lesson reveals how the Lord Jesus Christ tested those who claimed they wanted to follow Him and exposed the difference between sincere discipleship and superficial commitment. Many were willing to follow Christ as long as it was comfortable, socially acceptable, or secure — but few were willing to make God their true priority.
This message explores powerful biblical principles including:
Why your relationship with God must come before people
The danger of crowd mentality in Christianity
Doctrine vs. the details of life
People-pleasing as a spiritual obstacle
The real meaning of “Follow Me”
Why spiritual growth often requires separation from the majority
Freedom in Christ vs. false human security
Jesus’ statements may sound harsh at first, but they reveal a deeper truth: spiritual maturity requires correct priorities. The believer must ultimately choose between approval from society and obedience to God’s Word.
This teaching challenges us to examine our scale of values and ask an important question:
👉 Is Bible doctrine truly first in my life?
If you desire spiritual growth, clarity in God’s plan, and a deeper understanding of discipleship, this message will encourage and challenge you to move forward in grace and truth.
