Why Did God Establish Human Government? | DISPENSATIONS PART 19
In DISPENSATIONS PART 19, Pastor Robert McLaughlin continues the study of the Doctrine of Dispensations by introducing the third dispensation, the Dispensation of Human Government.
Following the Flood, Noah and his family entered a new period of human history. God established a covenant with Noah, gave mankind new responsibilities, and introduced human government as a ruling factor designed to restrain evil in a fallen world.
Through Genesis 8–9 and Romans 13, Pastor teaches the biblical purpose of governmental authority, the responsibility of mankind to obey legitimate authority, and the continuing roles of human conscience and the restraining ministry of God the Holy Spirit.
The message also examines Noah’s failure after the Flood and the response of his sons. While Ham exposed his father’s shame, Shem and Japheth chose to cover him. This becomes an important lesson concerning love, gossip, judging others, and the principle that “love covers.”
Even great believers fail. Noah’s greatness was not based upon human perfection, but upon the doctrine resident in his soul and the grace of God.
This study ultimately prepares us for what comes next: mankind’s failure under Human Government and the Tower of Babel.
