The Tower of Babel: What Really Happened in Genesis 11? | Dispensations Part 22
In Dispensations Part 22, Pastor Robert R. McLaughlin continues the study of the Tower of Babel in Genesis 11 and reveals that Babel was about far more than the confusion of languages.
The people were united, speaking the same language and even using the same vocabulary, but their unity was centered on human pride, personal ambition, and rebellion against the plan of God. Instead of obeying God's command to spread throughout the earth, they attempted to build for themselves a city and a tower and โmake a nameโ for themselves.
Pastor McLaughlin explains the powerful contrast found in Genesis 11: man attempts to build upward through human power, while God comes down and demonstrates that human achievement can never replace dependence upon Him.
This message also examines the danger of false unity, creature credit versus Creator credit, personal pride, presumption, the importance of operating in God's power rather than human power, and the prophetic implications of mankind seeking unity apart from God.
Most importantly, the message reminds us that salvation is not something we can earn or accomplish through human works. We cannot build our way to Heaven. Eternal salvation is received in a moment through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone.
