Divine and Human Viewpoint
Part 1

Before you begin this Bible study, If you have never believed in Jesus Christ as your Savior, John 3:16 tells us: “ For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish, but have eternal life.’ Simply have faith that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins and you will have eternal life and be saved. If you have believed in Jesus Christ as your Savior; then 1 John 1:9 tells us; “If you confess your sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Simply privately tell God the Father your sins to be filled with God the Holy Spirit and He will teach you Bible truth. (Rebound)

There are two kinds of thinking, human viewpoint and divine viewpoint. During the Hypostatic Union when Jesus lived, He always had Divine Viewpoint because He was always filled with the Holy Spirit. God is always pleased with Divine viewpoint thinking.
Even though Jesus had nothing but love, forgiveness and care for people, He had a lot of enemies. Many of the religious leaders called the scribes and the Pharisee’s had their own ideas about what was right or wrong. Some of them thought that they were way better than others. They thought God wanted them to be perfect and missed the whole point that nobody is perfect and we all need a Savior.
This group of people added a lot of rules to God’s perfect law that Moses had received on Mount Sinai. This was human viewpoint and God wasn’t pleased.
When people think their way of doing things is better than God’s, then they have human viewpoint. Human viewpoint is arrogance which is also called pride or being haughty like in our memory verse.

Mark 2:1-12 & Luke 5:17-26

Everywhere Jesus went; there were large crowds of people following Him around. One day Jesus was teaching inside a house in a city called Capernaum which was located near the Sea of Galilee.
Some men arrived and were carrying a paralyzed man on a stretcher with them. Since the crowds were so thick, they went on top of the roof and removed some tiles and let the man down though a hole right in front of Jesus. Wow that probably got their attention just like a helicopter landing on a hospital roof would get ours today.




Jesus saw the man on the stretcher’s faith and told him his sins were forgiven. There were scribes and Pharisee’s in the crowd who were upset about that. They were thinking human viewpoint because they didn’t realize that Jesus was not only a sinless man, but the Son of God as well. They thought He was disrespecting God and didn’t realize He
was God and had the power to forgive sins. Jesus read their minds
knew that they were thinking human viewpoint. He then healed the paralyzed man and he got up off his stretcher and praised God. Everyone was amazed!
During Thanksgiving we look forward to certain foods. What would happen if someone added green grass and slimy brown worms to the stuffing? It would probably make us sick to our stomachs.
What about a pumpkin pie? What would happen if someone added salt instead of sugar to it? We would probably spit it out and think it tasted like play dough.
What if your dad decided it would be fun to feed the squirrels corn and you fed them all summer, and then your dad shot them and cooked them and placed them on the platter alongside your turkey or ham? I’ll bet you would not enjoy biting into them and chewing on a piece of brown fur would you? Maybe you would hide it under your mashed potatoes and gravy.
If all of these things happened, your Thanksgiving dinner would not be great; it would be very disappointing wouldn’t it. All of these added ingredients would make something very good turn out to be awful!
God never wants us to add things to His Word. When we do this, we are thinking with human viewpoint. When we think with Divine viewpoint, then it’s like the perfect Thanksgiving meal.
