Part 2
Eternity Past, Age of Gentiles, Age of Israel, Hypostatic Union, Church Age, Tribulation, Millennium, Eternal Future
Before you begin this Bible study, if you have never believed in Jesus Christ as your Savior, John
3:16 tells us: “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish, but have eternal life. ”Simply have faith that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins and you will have eternal life and be saved. If you have believed in Jesus Christ as your Savior, then 1 John 1:9 tells us: “If you confess your sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Simply privately tell God the Father your sins to be filled with God the Holy Spirit and He will teach you Bible truth. Promise-Memory Verse
“Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!” 2 Corinthians 9:15
Remember last week, we left off with Mary giving birth to baby Jesus. There was no crib or cute little baby clothes to dress Him in. In fact, she laid Him down in a manger, which was probably surrounded by animals.
Luke 2:7 tells us this: “And she gave birth to her firstborn son, and she wrapped Him in clothes, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.”
Soon afterwards, an Angel of the Lord appeared in the evening to some shepherds, who were taking care of their flocks. They were scared out of their minds but the angel said: Luke 2:10b
“Do not be afraid; for behold I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all people; for today in the city of David, there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” This will be a sign for you; you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
Next, something else happened in Luke 2:13-14:
“And suddenly, there appeared with the angel, a multitude of heavenly hosts praising God and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth, peace among men with whom He is pleased.”
This really got the shepherd’s attention. Wow! Lots of angels were all praising God! The Savior of the world was born; the newborn king was here to pay for our sins! Wow, what fantastic news!
The shepherds couldn’t wait to see the indescribable gift, so they hurried to Bethlehem and found Mary, and Joseph, and the little Lord Jesus lying in a manger, just like the angel had told him. They told them all about their visit from the angels!
While the shepherds were walking back to their flocks, they were praising and glorifying God! God wants us to praise and glorify Him too! We do this when we believe that only God can save us from our sins. God the Father prepared a human body for His uniquely born Son.
When God the Son was born, Hebrews 10:5 tells us what He said:
“SACRIFICE AND OFFERING YOU HAVE NOT DESIRED, BUT A BODY
YOU HAVE PREPARED FOR ME.”
God the Son, agreed to become a human baby, who would grow up to be perfect in every way. He was born, so that He could die on the cross and sacrifice Himself in order to pay for the sins of every person in the whole world. Praise God! It’s so wonderful that He is our rescuer!
Our Savior, Jesus Christ is the indescribable gift!
