Moses-Whiners and Complainers
Part 3

Before you begin this Bible study, if you have never believed in Jesus Christ as your Savior, John
3:16 tells us: “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish, but have eternal life.” Simply have faith that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins and you will have eternal life and be saved. If you have believed in Jesus Christ as your Savior, then 1 John 1:9 tells us: “If you confess your sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Simply privately tell God the Father your sins to be filled with God the Holy Spirit and He will teach you Bible truth. (Rebound)

Numbers 11:4-35 & Psalm 78:24-25

Morning after morning, day after day, God rained down bread from Heaven. He knew exactly how to make this food taste better than anything the Israelites had ever eaten. There was always plenty to go around for everybody.
A year or so later, the Hebrews, and others who were with the group, started complaining that they were tired of the manna. Instead of being thankful for what God had given them, they whined and cried.
All these people could think about, were the fish, cucumbers, melons, garlic, onions, and leeks that they had eaten in Egypt. They forgot all about how horrible their lives were as slaves.
They kept on saying, “Who will give us meat to eat?”
It seemed like, no matter what God gave them, they always wanted a lot more than what they had. They even grumbled that the manna made them lose their appetite! This was crazy, because even the angels in Heaven, ate this delicious grain.
Moses heard the crybabies gripe about the food every day. He told God that all of the fish in the sea, and the meat from their herds, and livestock would never be enough for these people.
In fact, Moses was so overwhelmed by the thought of trying to find meat for the Israelites, that he told God just to kill him. God knew that Moses didn’t really want to die, he just needed help. He told Moses to find 70 leaders to assist him.
God reminded Moses it wasn’t his job to find meat. He decided it was time to teach the ungrateful Israelites a lesson. God told them that they would eat the quail every day for a month. They would eat it until it started coming out of their noses and they couldn’t stand to eat it ever again!
God sent a strong wind, and quail flew in from the sea. The birds were 3 feet deep all around the camp. The greedy people didn’t just pick up a few of them to feed their families! They collected the feathery quail continuously all day and night and even the next day.
Most of the people hoarded up more than 10 homers of birds each. That would be equal to close to 2000 or more birds each. Can you imagine that much quail being gathered? What on earth were they thinking? God decided to punish some of them for being unthankful and greedy. As they bit into the quail with their teeth, they died before it was even swallowed.
Sophie loved her doll Bella, and played with her every day. She dressed her up in old baby clothes, and put her into a toy car seat whenever she rode in the car. Even though her doll wasn’t new, Bella was her favorite plaything.
Jenna wanted a new bike. Her step-dad found out, and he bought her a pink bike with a little white basket on it. He even hand painted her name on it. When he gave it to her for her birthday, you will never guess what she did! She kicked it as hard as she could and started throwing a fit! She yelled, “I hate this ugly bike, I wanted a purple one!”
Do you know which one of the girls whined and a complained? It was Jenna. She acted just like the Israelites who weren’t happy with the manna. She should have thanked her step-dad for the bike, but she threw a tantrum instead. Sophie was the one who was thankful.
Whining, arguing, not being thankful and throwing tantrums when you don’t get your own way is totally wrong. This means you need to privately tell God the Father inside of your mind what you did wrong because 1 John 1:9 says to do this. You will probably get punished as well. It’s never cool to act like a fool.
